MYSTERY BOX OF SILVER I: special isis idetion

i will begin to design the next mystery box game BEFORE the previous has even filled! well i guess this one is not so much the next one as a separate entity in the timeline.

• Larger radars usually are used for longer range, while radars designed for detailed imaging of objects may be smaller.
  
• My cats' eye colors were virtually the same at birth, but diverged during their adolescence and became the best way to tell them apart.
  
• Once in Washington Square Park in NYC, I came across a man making music with empty containers, and I really liked it.
  
• Five lefts make a left.
  
• It seems inherently impossible to decide the appropriate amount of time to wait at midnight to assume that a traffic light is stuck on red and it is okay to ignore it.
  
• Dandelions are exciting because you can see their reproductive strategy so clearly.
  
• There should have been more than one season of Firefly.
  
• Drink lots of water every chance you get.
  
• Playing piano by memory and by reading sheet music are satisfying each in different ways.

for a long time i've felt that cop is a bad role for this game because more than any other role it sets a limit as to how well you are able to be as scum - people who are good scum players simply get copped. a dynamic that i hadn't considered so much until recently (a lot of different things have brought me to this conclusion) is that the general space of generic role-based investigatives often don't add so much to the game and have a way of causing grief for the wolves. i think they are worthwhile in moderation - for instance, a situation where wolves will bank on getting to execute a certain person, but then find out that person is neap-innocent, requires wolves to adapt, which is something that adds to the game. but i think the inclusion of an ungated cop, neapolitan, etc. judges the wolves on their ability to figure out that someone is a cop or not, which at the end of the day is much less of a meaningful exercise than pretty much everything else in the game.

i think things only stand to get worse on that front. nowadays people are very good at providing setup smokescreens and being vague about results.

there are two things to be done about that for me. first, i will be informing the wolves about the invéstigatoire here. another sort of unrelated courtesy thing i would like to do is letting the wolves choose who gets what. this is sort of awkward to do since there are neighborhoods here - i guess i could have had the neighborhood be separate from the role selection in the 1/10 case

second, i will try to think about better Silver Brand cop-variants. i think gunsmith isn't really that impressive and neapolitan, in spite of how delightful it is, still has a lot of the same baggage; invéstigatoire gives a theoretically infinite ability to talk out of guilties for the most astute customers although that's still crummy, and the innos hurt. i want to leave it in this game since having an actual instance of it getting a fake guilty is something that is needed for the health of the role but i will get cracking on ideas

heartless investigator: can only get innocent results on players with no +1/+1 counters on them

idea that i wouldn't know how to start as far as producing an actual working version of:

the town and mafia will be distributed equal to their amounts in the solution which maximizes the following linear program:
maximize z = 5t + 3s - 10j
3t - 2s + 5j <= 14
etc. etc.

The interaction between the town slightly informed neighbor and the "is this a 3p fest?" setup modwifom seems awkward. Maybe would have been better for the role to inform Nic Cage that his neighbor was 90:10 town:not-town or more explicitly that say part of his informed modifier is he gets to know that there are seven town-aligned players in the game.
