You can't make one call to grab all the data and then parse it locally? That's what I'm interested in mostly, if they're throttling your calls maybe you can just bring the number of calls down significantly. In post 24, MathBlade wrote:Later sure.
I have an older version on github.
It runs blazing fast on my local. So mainly I need to talk with them to see how much it would be to not have that happen and compare around.

That would be amazing yes. However to make it down to 0 it would be PHP on MS servers.
Until then I am maxed out at 200 posts a page as I have to get the post data to analyze it for votes.ScumBlade's eloquent performance left me utterly disoriented, debased, depraved and sent me spiraling into a horrific murky abyss with emotional turmoil and immense despair as my only companions until slowly I suffocate in my own gloom, surrounded by failure. The forum is definitely out of date. By a lot.In post 33, LicketyQuickety wrote:Could have fooled me. The Forum isn't exactly what I would call "out of date"
As with most things, I welcome a change if it is for the better.
Basically we have a whole bunch of custom stuff that was written on top of 3.1 (iirc?) and that stuff needs to be ported over before we can do any upgrades.
Stuff like PTs, for instance.tout comprendre c'est tout pardonner- LicketyQuickety

This site is second to only MU (that I am aware of) in terms of effectiveness to play Forum Mafia on. If it's old, it's held up very very well.In post 34, Thestatusquo wrote:

TSQ: I understand that sentiment. We definitely have been talking about it for some time. However, it never was a real priority & there was disagreement over whether we'd stay with phpBB or move to new software. We all decided that it's going to be our main priority and that we'd stick with phpBB about mid to late last year.
Since then a lot of progress has been made. took initiative & made significant progress porting over a lot of the most difficult modifications(like isolation & private topics). I've recently joined in & am working to pull other people back into activity. Regardless, we know what features we need & we'll continue to chip away at it week by week. It'll take some time but it won't be years and years.
I'm happy to keep people updated as we progress. It'll be exciting when we get there because it opens the door to a lot of other cool projects due to the new extension engine.- LicketyQuickety

I know this thread isn't really for this, but...
It would be great if you could get some of the stuff to work with other stuff... Like area and spoilers and mech. Sometimes it just goes to shit and it's damn near impossible to fix. Ain't nobody got time for that.I was anything worse than you! Anything worse than you was I!

There’s a lot of things going on in the background the people helping are quite frankly doing an amazing job. Mainly between moderating and other things and not being well versed in PHP and discussing with Amazon it’s been kinda rough porting the stuff over to php. Between that and two irrelevant side projects it’s kinda meh. It has 100% uptime right now and is very very reliable so yay. So the code is working right now it’s more infrastructure and tweaks.ScumBlade's eloquent performance left me utterly disoriented, debased, depraved and sent me spiraling into a horrific murky abyss with emotional turmoil and immense despair as my only companions until slowly I suffocate in my own gloom, surrounded by failure. I've done a bit of work on this, actually, at least on the exposing resources side -- you'll definitely have post data in v1 of the api, and I'd like to make it available at least as the next major feature release after the 3.2 upgrade MVP goes live, although obviously we can't say when that will be.In post 27, Thestatusquo wrote:I wonder how easy it would be to expose an API with a key to let people access all the post data of a thread as one object?
Chamber? Kison?
Haven't done any work on the auth layer for this, and phpbb isn't wonderful about laying down a JWT auth plugin, but it's at least in our sights.beefycheese- Thestatusquo

Good to know. Some sites are a major pain in the ass to play Mafia on.In post 35, LicketyQuickety wrote:In post 34, Thestatusquo wrote:

With great sorrow I am sad to say that barring a major cash influx flow I will be shutting down my vote scrubber. I don’t have enough viable support at this point to justify the expense and it’s only going to go up once the free tier on Amazon ends.
Should there be some renewed interest I am not aware of please reach out to me by November 30th. Otherwise the services will be cancelled. Right now I spend around 30 dollars a month on this and I can’t keep that going when I am not getting that much use of it.
Again if a lot of people mention they use it I will keep it up. Otherwise I will shut it down.
I apologize for this but ultimately it is necessary right now.ScumBlade's eloquent performance left me utterly disoriented, debased, depraved and sent me spiraling into a horrific murky abyss with emotional turmoil and immense despair as my only companions until slowly I suffocate in my own gloom, surrounded by failure. It’s all AWS machines with my code running them. None of the code is amazons except what is required to run the servers
The service and core code are of my own making. The github is horribly out of date. I also designed a database to speed things up but not everyone uses that.
I don’t have usage statistics recently as that would require me to look at recent games table which I can do Sunday to get an idea but I would rather not. I can also see what games tried to use it recently and look at the AWS data.
However mainly I haven’t seen it used in a skim of recent games hence asking and giving two weeks notice. If somehow I find a cheaper way to do it I may but I have too many other projects taking time and money for something not used.
If it is used however that is a different story.ScumBlade's eloquent performance left me utterly disoriented, debased, depraved and sent me spiraling into a horrific murky abyss with emotional turmoil and immense despair as my only companions until slowly I suffocate in my own gloom, surrounded by failure.
