This head feels like you're beating a dead horse - yes, we discussed the potential to help town by our mere existence; people should know this by now if they've read/kept up in this thread - without any attempt to solve our alignment.

Bloodborne's a fun game.
Advice:
Use the environment, keep enemies in front of you.
Don't farm for blood vials, just don't be wasteful of them and buy extra every time you go back to the Dream.
Level your VIT to 20 first, don't worry too much about upping STR, SKL, BLT, or ARC unless you wanna hit weapon requirements.
Try to get a set of armor, any set of armor, as the starting gear is drastically weaker than nearly anything else. Afterwards, just swap armor for what you think looks cool, really. You can equip certain gear to max towards certain damage types if you really need it, though.
If a weapon says it scales with BLT, that means that only its bullets do--there are a few exceptions where the trick mode itself entirely scales on BLT, such as the Chikage and Bloodletter.
If a weapon says it scales with ARC, that means that only certain attacks do.
If the game is ever too hard, consider leveling up a bit rather than just dying a lot to a challenge. Each level ups your physical defense.
Almost every boss is easier if you play aggressively because they often have weaker and easier to dodge attacks while you're up close, but much heavier hitting and hard to dodge attacks when you are far away.
Rally hp rather than healing when you can.

Best weapon in the entire game is the Saw Cleaver, but everything is viable and worth using. They did a good job on balancing all the weapons.
Don't forget you can transform mid-attack or mid-dodge to use a transformation attack.
Two-handed weapons also get an extra attack on the button that's mapped to shoot your gun.

More Bloodborne advice: never dodge straight backwards. Most enemy attacks are aimed to hit you with a follow up if you dodge straight backwards from their original attacks. Dodge into them instead.

Dodging backwards is fine if you know what you're dodging and you have a decent neutral dodge attack. Blades of Mercy have a great one, iirc.
But yeah, you should usually be dodging towards bosses and larger enemies, through their attack with your i-frames, and to the side they launched the attack from.
