Help me pass my class

For large social games such as Survivor where the primary mechanic is social interaction.

Help me pass my class

I'm in a speech class and I have to give an informative speech. I've decided to tell people about the wonderful world of Survivor! I have to talk about it for five minutes and there's a lot I could talk about, but I should probably limit it and I don't know what to cover.

Some initial thoughts:
• I should probably avoid letting my class know I'm insane and play these games for months at a time. But I could possibly mention it as an aside?
• The goal is to inform and entertain. I recognize going into this that most people aren't going to be very entertained by an explanation of how Survivor works. But I don't have any better ideas!
• The speech will be approx. 5 minutes.

Pls halp

You could talk about jury psychology! I think that's pretty interesting

Definitely skimp on the explanation, right? A lot of people probably have a vague idea of how it works and they don't need to know the mechanics of voting or what have you to understand the interesting social experiment and strategy game bits.

I'd abbreviate the history lesson too, yawn city for anyone who's not an enormous nerd

I'd recommend using main point 1 to giving a brief overview of how the game works so nobody gets terribly lost.
Then use MP 2 & 3 to talk about the social game/strategy or w/e

For entertainment make sure you have a good AG. If you could throw in 1-2 jokes, that should help a lot. As long as you're charismatic you'll be fine.

honestly? Use Russell Hantz and Johnny Fairplay. Anytime I've wanted to get someone into Survivor I use that and show the absolute cutthroat nature of the show. Maybe contrast it to Borneo. Idk

Johnny Fairplay is easy to talk about I think, but what part of Russell Hantz would you showcase? Him burning everyone's socks or how that all ends?

Definitely mention how the early show focused more on literal survival but the Tagi Four paved the way for the social game to truly emerge.
