imo we should tend towards nominating more people rather than less

it's the judges job to kick out the people who don't deserve it

i agree but i just don't have a good writeup right now and the buzz might've died down by the time i do

rising star is basically the only award that i think has that issue (and only early in the year), every other award should definitely be nommed whenever potentially applicable

I mean yeah it would be cool if Most Improved Player were still actually an award

but if there's a choice between using an award to mean Best Newbie vs Most Improved, I think there's more payoff in Best Newbie, and would always support the award going to one of the (surprisingly many) quality late 2017 and early 2018 players.
