Also the answers aren't public so the mafia can just lie or tell the truth with 50% odds obviously.

Wouldn't you figure it's less reliable information than just going 8 bits because mafia can muddle the signals with 5 fake answers? Kinda like how you need more bits to be able to parity correct something than to just say that someone messed with the string?

Isn't the average skewed because of A, and everyone else has the same probability of being on scum, assuming an even split of an optimal question? IE for the first iteration, aside from A, nobody else should have a better chance of being on a scumteam than anyone else?

Though, that just brought up a thought, where an optimal question can still have a nonuniform distribution of who is more clear or more scum in it. Something like where the optimal question from A removes most of the scumteams that involve B, so B is more trustworthy. The one question I have is how to be able to tell when someone is, in fact, scum, and thus you need to use the pool of people where A is in the scumteam.
