I understand there are social justice issues in America. I don't think anyone who doest want to be subjected to protests should be labeled racist or part of the problem. In post 199, T-Bone wrote:What argument? There is no argument. You are in the class of people who needs to be reminded of racial injustices by the police until you either A) get it or B) reveal yourself to be the racist you claim you aren't. There is no C, there is no D, there is no E, F, G, H and so on and so forth. And since you watch the NFL, that seems like a good as place as any for you to be reminded of these things.
Unless you mean to tell me you would actually consider these issues, if only you saw them somewhere else.
Except...no you wouldn't because you like to trash black people protesting because they aren't inclusive enough.

So again, your point boils down to "please protest in a way so that I don't have to see it."
Which the point of this protest is so you DO have to see it. The point of any protest is so people have to see it.
What part of this do you just not comprehend? I'm not trying to shame you. Walk me through why you don't understand protesting.- TwoInAMillion

Well...if people don't want to see these protests, there is a much simpler solution.
Instead of being a roadblock, why not try to be an ally?
Why not also kneel or hold up a fist during the national anthem?
Better yet, why not contact your local politicians and ask them what they are doing about police brutality against black Americans?
Better yet, why not contact your local police department and ask?
Better yet, instead of complaining about the protests themselves...why not have a conversation about the issue with someone instead of complaining about the kneeling?
If more people did that, the protests would just go away on their own.- T-Bone

Also, people would rag on you less if you stopped being a roadblock in general. No one is asking you to denounce yourself as a racist in order to atone for your sins. Generally you're just being asked to become part of the answer, instead of being an obstructionist because you don't like something about the question.- SleepyKrew

kneeling during the anthem is completely harmlessIn post 200, TwoInAMillion wrote:I don't think anyone who doest want to be subjected to protests should be labeled racist or part of the problem.

it's not harmless. people are taught to stand for the anthem and respect the flag for a reason. the nation as a whole is not the problem and the military is not the problem. That's what the anthem is for. I respect what the protestors are fighting for but they are protesting the wrong thing in the name of publicity."It's official. TiaM > Nero Cain." Smocaine

You literally just wrote that sentence.
If you're protesting something and not being seen then what's the fucking point?
You might not be racist, but you're actively part of the issue with statements such as the (entire one) above.ShowRumpelstiltskin Grinder

Or they could stop pretending they actually watch the anthemIn post 203, T-Bone wrote:Well...if people don't want to see these protests, there is a much simpler solution.
seriously nobody watches the anthem, that's time for emptying your bladder and filling your plate before the game starts
Do they get just as upset when people are displaying the flag improperly (Stars on the right?). Or when their neighbors leave it out at night without lighting it? Lazy jingoists- BROseidon

You're making it hard for me to bite my tongue but I don't want to get banned. So instead I'll comment on Brandon Marshall going to Seattle. It's hard to see that being a good fit.In post 214, BROseidon wrote:Like remember the idiot jock bullies from high school? Those are the people who become cops. There's no point on this site. You're more likely to get banned than change anyone's mind. So why is it wrong to encourage people to be respectful to the flag and national anthem? Patriotism is not a bad thing. Those wanting to be patriotic are not bad people. Wanting equality is not bad either but there has to be a middle ground or another way."It's official. TiaM > Nero Cain." Smocaine

Because kneeling during the anthem has nothing to do with any of that. It is not disrespectful, it is not anti-patriotic, anti-flag or anti-America.
In fact, kneeling was chosen as the method of protest BECAUSE it is respectful.
And everytime you talk about the kneeling, you remain part of the problem.- TwoInAMillion

And those people are objectively wrong according to the US Flag Code.
There is no where to have an opinion when we actually have a law that tells what is and isn't appropriate to do to the flag, and in the presence of the flag. Shockingly, kneeling is not prohibited.- TwoInAMillion

You appear to be wrong...
During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all present except those in uniform should stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart.
