Rhythm Games?!

This forum is specifically for discussing non-Mafia games (board, card, video, we're not picky). Playing such games should happen in the Mish Mash forum, of course.

Oh hey, it's my thread.
I looked for one of these too, but I couldn't find one and wasn't so sure there was enough players on the forum to make one.

Controller collection. Not pictured: second FP7 which I lent to a friend and my svse5 which is on its way here atm.

The DDR controller is a PDP which is so low quality it makes me want to neck myself, but I'm really happy with the others.

-hides before the thread turns into osu!garbage discussion-

What was their handle, Vi? I might know them.

You'd be better off with a launchpad imo, Jubeat is complete memorization. It's kinda fun for a while, but the better you get the more of a grind it becomes. I should play it more.
One of the best foreign jubeat players is australian!

If we're talking about carousel music...

In post 10, Vi wrote:(Aren't all of these games memorization-based? I mean you can shuffle if you're bored after all the memorization to learn things the first time...)

Depends on both the game and on your definition of memorization.

it is good to hear you enjoyed yourself
the unintuitive nature of iidx is a large part of its appeal
it's not for everybody though
the dj turntable is something that becomes second nature eventually
the game is a lot about making things that are initially obscure and unintuitive instead homely and second nature, like brood war or smash brothers melee

do you have access to pump it up
it is like ddr but better

if you are looking for games with a good return on money and/or time investment I would recommend ddr, piu and popn music
they use large muscle groups and are quite intuitive so you don't rust too much from not playing and learning is fairly straightforward and enjoyable

unfortunately popn is quite rare in the us I think
