Where is this survey of new players/prod timers or what were the results? In post 160, PenguinPower wrote:
Given that this change was spurred by survey and anecdotal feedback, can I ask where you are getting your feedback for opposition? In post 159, Dunnstral wrote:The math is sound in theory but where it fails is that it replaces out newbies who would otherwise enjoy 48 hour prod timers, while the whole idea was player retention, I think?
This is not a hard set change, but something that is being done based on the playerbase. I am always open to change for the better. I prefer for it to have some data behind it.-

Newbie queue isn't the place to experiment new site mechanicsIn post 192, RedFlavor wrote:I'd say we experiment those prod timer or deadline thingies and see what's better-

I mean don't test things that haven't been used in other places on site in the newbie queue, it's not the place for it. You can start by implementing it in theme games, normal games, open games, etc. If nobody wants it then it doesn't belong in the newbie queue eitherIn post 197, RedFlavor wrote:
Yeah but if you dont, how are you going to know whats best for newbie queueIn post 195, Dunnstral wrote:

Also, once again, 99% of the site doesn't use this feature so the newbie queue shouldn't be anyone's "test zone", it shoudl represent the rest of the siteIn post 200, callforjudgement wrote:Instant Night is logistically difficult to set up, especially if the players don't know what they're doing. The Newbie Queue thus seems like the worst possible place for it.
What happens when newbies who like the newbie queue shorter deadlines realize that 95%+ of the site uses 14 day deadlines? It's essentially false advertising
