jcink.net may be an option too. PMs are Invisionfree-style, which isn't great, but at a quick glance a lot of the functionality seems to be there.

A few highlights:

View New Posts is easy to find.
You can make the newest PM you receive automatically show up inline with the forum.
Custom BBCode
Icons for each usergroup (tribe badges, anyone?)
HTML customization SEEMS to be reasonably robust.
Some sort of MiniProfile thing can be enabled when an avatar is moused over?

I'll do some more digging in the morning.

this looks promising. permission masks??

Works the same way as IF/Zetaboards. There's no "Select/Deselect All" button in the ACP but other than that it looks fine.
