yeah i think this is just a play to get major markets assuredly into the tourney
lot more money to be made if places like US and China are always playing
also avoids the upsets of losing out major teams like Netherlands and Italy

Also travel time is going to be a bitch! Like, split country games is alright is some cases like Korea/Japan, but like, if a team has a game in Mexico and the next one in Canada it's really going to hinder them, unlike a team who was already in Canada amd doesn't have to fly up! Or if they have a game in the east thn the west (or vice versa) timezones will screw them up!

This should be very interesting.
The flights from New York to Los Angeles are likely longer than the flights from Mexico to Canada. Mexico City to Montreal is a 5 hour flight. It obviously would take a long time if teams were flying commercial and had to connect, but they'll charter planes and go direct.
i just hope the planes can fly high enough to clear the wall

that image of Germany's failed clearance directly into the nuts of a Korean player in the 88th minute that led to the corner kick goal basically sums up this German performance in a single strike of the ball(s)

I knew it would exist

keep in mind this attempted pass? led to a change of possession that Korea turned into a corner wherein Kroos had a really nice assist for Korea's go ahead goal

Croatia doesn't really match up too well against England though

How is France's defense against the counter?

why is England defined as "home" for the title?

what if it prefers Paris or Zagreb as a place of residence?

I have to say that Croatia's defensive strategy of constantly harrassing the back line and forcing quick/suboptimal passes into midfield was really refreshing compared to all of the teams that just drop 10+ players back in their own box

Don't know how they kept it up for three straight extra time matches

Also super pumped to finally see the red and white checkered kits
