    joining the game, leaving the game, and activity:
    
    
11. at the beginning of each subgame, you will receive a role PM. please confirm by telling me your alignment and (if you're mafia) who your partner is.
    
12. if you will be away from the site for a set period of time, please post in the thread letting the other players know this and PM me, and update the "Vacation / Limited Access" info in the User Control Panel. I will be more lenient regarding inactivity if you are V/LA, but I may need to replace you if you will be gone for an extended period of time. if you are regularly V/LA at certain times (such as during the weekend), you only need to do this once.
    
13. if you do not post for 72 hours or more, I will prod you (or send you a reminder to check in when possible if you have announced that you are V/LA); failure to respond to prods or needing to be prodded repeatedly throughout the game might result in a replacement.
    
14. if you need to be replaced for any reason, you may message me with information to be passed on to the player who replaces you. this isn't mandatory, but if there's strategic advice you'd like to offer to whomever replaces you, you can do this.

15. the game is divided into seven subgames. each subgame is nightless.
    
16. during each subgame, two players will be mafia lovers, and the other players will be townies. the mafia lose as soon as either of them dies. role PMs are listed below.
    
17. living players may vote for other living players by writing
    vote: player
    or VOTE: player in the game thread.
    
18. once the majority of living players are voting for a player, that player will die.
    
19. if you have died, please do not post in the thread anymore. you are not officially considered dead until I announce your death in the game thread.
    
20. players who die on day 1 of a subgame may request a private topic for the rest of that day to commentate on the game. they may then request that this thread be made public at any point in the future.
    
21. each day has a one week deadline. if the deadline passes without a lynch, each town player loses half a point and the day continues for an additional period reduced by 48 hours. the third time a deadline passes during a subgame, the mafia automatically win the game.
    
22. players who win their subgame get one point.

some behind the scenes: for games 1-3, I told Pine in advance that he was going to be mafia in all 3 games and told him that he got to pick his scum buddies for each of those 3 games but that he didn't get to pick which order they were in. for game 4, I really did get the scum pairing from Alisae -- I gave em the player list and the pairings that had happened so far and that was eir choice without any input from me. at the beginning of game 5 I told RadiantCowbells he would be scum for game 5 but that 1)he could pick his scum partner and 2)he could choose to either be scum in both games 6 and 7 or be town in both games 6 and 7.
