Mish Mash Reorganization

the issue is that people dont know what mish mash is and they have to go TO the forum to find the games and the title of Mish Mash doesn't really say much

We bandied around "Non-Mafia Games" too but it didn't feel right

open to community suggestions

But to sign up to PLAY the game you go to the forum clearly marked "Queue" and there is directional stuff pointing people to the right place from the home page.

"Road to Rome" isn't descriptive, but that doesn't matter, because if someone wants to play a game they aren't going there anyway.

I get that the title of Mish Mash is important but it doesn't say what it does. People come to this site for Mafia, like it or not. I know I didn't venture into the MM subforums for a while because I didn't quite get what it did. If we want Mish Mash to be a larger part of the site and move towards being equal, we have to be more visible, and having a silly name doesn't help that.

It's not a solution in search of a problem. We're focused on how to grow our userbase in Mish Mash, it's something me/xof/CC talk about a lot. Visibility is the key first step.

Maybe have like a stickied post that says what the Mish Mash forum is? I still don't understand why you would change "Other Forum Games" to "Mish Mash" because the mafia's forum title is 'Mafia Games' with things like 'Road to Rome, Coney Island, etc'. I guess it doesn't make sense to me why we wouldn't have a name like that for this forum when the forum title already is 'other games'.

because, again, the mafia games have QUEUE as the first thing you see when you land on the forum, and from there you get directed to the appropriate play threads

We're focused on user acquisition. Clarity makes it easier for users to know what they're looking for at a quick glance. That's our goal.

We have data suggesting user acquisition has died off and become slower and slower, so we really don't have to prove much more than "There's a problem, we're going to test hypotheses until we find something that alleviates the issue".

Yeah, it's a process issue we have to button up. We changed how the queue works without putting in backstage policies for updates. I JUST edited that post about two weeks ago but I will talk to xof and CC about it.

That's the official policy. It was complicated during Reverse the Curse because xofelf was traveling abroad during that time and we didn't have the backup systems in place yet.
