I'm in for this. I don't know if you want to run a module, like I am, but there are some solid ones out there other than Princes of the Apocalypse, even good ones not of the WotC official brand.
I've only made one good post, and don't you dare accuse me of doing it again.
I've also given much thought to this, and I am withdrawing my Probs ranger statement before. I still don't really like any of their subclasses. How are rangers still so boring?
PEdit: Nero, I switched to 5e because it's easier to understand than 3.5

@chamber, would we be held to alignment restrictions, etc. from Pathfinder? Specifically, if I make a paladin (because I really like 5e paladins) would there be an issue if he is not Lawful Good?

We would be playing 5e. 5e alignment is more descriptive than prescriptive and doesn't explicitly limit any classes. I'm really serious about players goals being in alignment with each other though and not working against each other. This doesn't mean you have to be good. It does mean you all need to be evil or all need to be out for your selves as a group or etc.
Yeah, definitely still in, then, almost definitely as a paladin.

Character wise, I'll see if i can convince myself to not play a Bard.
lvl 1 campaigns are awful tbh
lvls 1-3 are boring as shit. 3 is at least when you get your class specialization that makes it feel more unique and interesting
lvl 1 is just "lets hit things once every round and that's it"
I'd generally agree with this, but I am trying to work on Roleplaying, and levels 1 and 2 are good times to really roleplay the roots of your character choices.
That being said, my group generally skips straight to level 3 these days when we decide to reroll, which has been often since we go for months without playing right now and kind of forget our characters and can't find sheets.

My character in Chamber's is pretty much assured to be Paladin, thinking Half-Elf, because while fallen Aasimar would fit, I think they are a little too strong.
