The Rules, Stolen from shaft.ed, TSQ, Mr. Stoofer, Flameaxe, Jdodge:

00. I reserve the right to edit these rules at any time should something truly unexpected occur.
01. All votes must be made bold. Unvoting is not required but I heavily perfer it. Any attempts at disguising your voting will be prohibited. If its treated as a vote and I think its a vote, its a vote!
02. A majority of votes is required to lynch. If there is a lynch, no amount of bitching will prevent the lynch from happening. I am a moderator, not a charity.
03. When you live, live well. Live long. Prosper. When you're dead, shut up. Don't post. Lie in a grave/furnace/corpse pile. Rot.
04. All days have a 8 day deadline. All nights have a 2-3 day deadline.

The thread will not lock during night given the nature of this game

. No votes will be counted at night but you are welcome to wifom and make alliances as you please.
05. Players can be voted out during the day, but they don't have to be. No lynching is possible. To do this simply post

Vote: No Lynch

. Should this vote reach a majority. It will happen. If no majority is reached when the day ends, then there will be a no lynch by default.

06. This isn't technically mafia. There is no informed minority or uninformed majority. Every player really is an SK. That's why this game is allowed in mish mash
07. Every player must send an action each night. sending no action will result in your elimination from the game

08. Don't talk to each other outside of the game thread.
09. No small, encrypted or invisible text. Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts.

I will modkill you if you do this, and you will lose the game.

10. This is a game. Have fun and respect the other players. Don't do things that will result in site bans please.
11. If it seems like it should be illegal, it probably is. Considering the fact rules sometimes can't cover everything. Please use your common sense. PM me if you think something you are about to do could break the rules or possibly ruin the game.
12. I am human. If I mess up and make a mod error that results in you legitimately losing the game, then I will give you a technical auto-win at the end of the game to make up for it.
13. This game will start with a night phase. This should allow every player a chance to send their first night actions before any player gets lynched
14. Aronis is my backup/co-mod. Should I be unable to access the forum for some reason, he is in charge while I am unavailable. Give him the same respect you would give me

Basic Mechanics

:
-Players can be voted out during the day, but they don't have to be. No lynching is possible
-The game will start with night 0 where all players can send a kill and a prevent

Regulations and Resolutions:

-If 3 or more players are alive and NO player can theoretically block all other players, the game must continue.
-If 3 players are alive and at least 1 player has two role blocks, the player(s) with 2 role blocks go to end game. If all 3 have 2 blocks, those 3 win together
-If all players die in the same night, no one unlocks new role blocks for that night. The night is replayed as though it never happened. Each player must change at least one of their action targets when the night is replayed. If you do not do this, you will kill yourself that night.

End Game Mechanics:

-If 1 player remains, that player wins the game
-If 2 players remain then we go to a Final Phase. Both players must send me a choice, Shoot or Truce. If both players truce, they share the win. If one shoots and the other sends truce, the shooter wins. If both shoot, all currently dead players win, both shooters lose.

FAQ:

Q: Is this a Mafia Game?
A: There is no Informed Minority Faction or Uninformed Majority Faction built directly into the game. There is no talking outside the game thread. The thread will not be locked during the night either. This game has been approved to be run in the mish mash forum since its not really mafia.

Q: If 3 people are live, I have two role blocks, X has two role blocks, and Z has two role blocks, what happens?
A: The 3 of you share the win.

Q: If 3 people are live, I have two role blocks, X has two role blocks, and Z has one role block, what happens?
A: You and X go to two player end game.

Q: If 3 people are live, I have two role blocks, X has one role block, and Z has one role block, what happens?
A: You go to end game by yourself, which means you win it all.

Q. How long will each night last?
A. 2-3 days. If I get all action before 2 days, it will end after 2 days. If it takes longer for me to receive all actions, it will last 3 days. If someone has still not sent a kill in those 3 days, that player will target themselves. They will suicide and any other actions/abilities that player has will target no one.

Q: What if I am gonna be on V/la during the night?
A: Then you should give me V/la notice and or send your choices to me in advance so that you don't kill yourself the next night.

Q. Can I change my actions at night after I have already sent them to you?
A. As long as I get the changes before the night ends, sure.

Q. Does my prevent stop another player's prevent?
A. No, this is why I prefer to refer to it as a prevent and not a block. Your prevent can only stop one player from killing you. It can't stop anyone's prevent. It can not stop someone from killing someone else that is not you.

Q. Is the prevent ability one shot?
A. No, you can use it every night. Same with the second one should you earn the second one.

Players can post in game during both day and night phases. Game will only be locked if I am in process of writing the end of night scene. If you see the thread locked, you can no longer change your actions for that night. The thread will only be locked for a few minutes at most. So if you ever see the thread is locked, come back in a few minutes and it won't be. This game has no set player limit.

Thread will be open for signups for one week starting tomorrow. Signups will last one week and then game will begin with a night start

I think having a backup mod is always necessary. It allows you to prepare for the worst since crazy things can happen. Between advertising and actually posting the game thread my main desktop computer had some issues. Power supply went dead and hard drive started to go so i had to start backing things Succeeded in getting what I think is all the data, now just waiting on parts getting shipped. I am currently using my work computer that I bring home some times. So it is very possible I may be away from the thread at some points during the running of this game. I also have a gaming tournament on Aug 4 that will keep me busy. So feel free to reach out to Aronis if I am hard to reach

In the future I could have a dead player back me up but I'm not sure if allowing that could effect the "All dead players win" mechanic that occurs in the event the final two survives both want a solo win.

In case anyone is confused. The prevent ability is not one shot. You can use it every night. Same with the second prevent, should you earn the second one. I'll add that to the FAQ section shortly

Get your actions to me as soon as you can. I will try to prod the stragglers later tonight. If I never get the kill action from you, you will self target. There is technically no rule about not sending a prevent. (It hurts you in game if you forget this but I won't immediately kill you over it.)

In case anyone is wondering, there are no posting requirements for this game. I won't be prodding players for them not posting every X days. You are all sk, technically a type of scum, so lurking is a legit straight. Though you do need to try to kill people at night as that helps you achieve a win and if you aren't trying to do that then you aren't really playing the game. Not trying to achieve a win is against some of the site rules.

Why can't we talk about this game outside the thread? Again, it has no real downside here because everyone's role is known. It's a rule in mafia because everyone's role is NOT known (and thus, talking outside the thread can grant players an insight to another player's role that others don't have.)

Also I have considered the possibility of allowing outside communication in this game. The reason I have not allowed it is I feel it would draw away from the main game thread. Main game thread would be very small containing very little action as most of the action would be elsewhere. Anyone spectating/moderating would not get to see most of the show. Its also possible things could get out of hand or difficult to moderate in that state for other reasons.

Thank you Aronis for updating the thread. Checking thread on breaks while at work is not always covenant. By the way, I have received the parts to fix my computer but will take some time to get all data back on and be 100% there again. So only need to use work PC a little longer.

The game rules say 2-3 days is night deadline. The current deadline as mentioned in Aronis's post is set to end on Aug 4 during the video game tournament I am participating in. If I get all actions be fore the tourney I can announce the day before I go to it. If I don't get all the actions before it, I won't be able to announce the day results until I get home from it.

You both have 1 kill and 2 blocks. Normal night actions won't get rid of each other so you go to end game

If you are asking, why is the end game not an immediate tie due to the aforementioned, its because I didn't want to get rid of the current end game mechanics entirely.

So you must still send me a choice of shoot or truce between each other

I am also considering giving TesXX a victory they can decide to accept or not. Reason being is I misspelled their name originally when I sent the first prod on night 1 and by time I realized it, dead line was a bout 2 hours away instead of a full day. Judging by what they said in the private topic backstage, my actions may have effected theirs to some degree given how much time they had left at time of the prod. And yes they still made it on time even though I went to sleep and ended the night a little later than I would have wanted. So Tesxx can decide if I effected them or not. Not sure if its best to prod late action senders or not in games. Tell me what you think
