I kinda had a feeling a50 was trying to pocket nm but tbh i just couldn't get over some mm actions
I guess I need to work on not becoming confbiased

January 11th, 1984

There's three of us left. Myself, the farmer, and the wife of the late mayor.

We've been idling near the crates, wary of letting the others out of our sight and of another attempt at thieving the remaining food. The only sound is the wind, a light foreboding howl only heightening the tension between the three of us. More evidence of thievery had been discovered today, one crate mysteriously missing. A search through all three of our houses did little more than arouse more suspicion in each of us. The thief was clearly smart enough not to link the evidence to themselves so easily.

Finally, a break. The mayor's wife, until then sitting on the edge of the platform where the noose stands, rises to her feet and crosses her arms. She exclaims that she's figured out who the thief is. My heart drops in dread as she fixes her eyes on me and pulls out her gun, fixing it on me. The farmer looks to her in shock for a moment, which turns to raw fear as she then turns the gun over to him.

After a moment, the gun cracks. She falls to her knees in shock as the front of her dress begins shining red. After a moment, another crack of a gun, this time aimed directly at the farmer.

I take a step back and watch the two of them fix each other with eyes full of hatred and malice, each certain that the other was the thief. After several moments, the life fades and I am left alone with two corpses.

Finally, my work is finished. I've managed to take over the town, with the added bonus of the town taking my two accomplices out for me. Finally, I've won.

I went to bed tonight, no longer shaken.

If that was the cause of me writing it that way, it was entirely an accident.

@Rei: First off, I do not buddy/pocket Town as scum. Not my style. I do like the company of N_M though, so wouldn't FoS him unless I had a really good reason to.

Second, neither you nor MM were at fault tbh. If either of you was either too scummy or too town I would have used it to my benefit. I really didn't want MM lynched because I feared the worst (that he would say he suspects you then venge me, like he did a U-turn when we lynched Trinity and spared you). I honestly thought he was on 1-vote though, so I was debating my way out of the venge for realz.

In short, you played well and so did MM so don't feel bad. After all; it's only a game (and one of deceit).

Nope. I haven't been honest with my reads this game, I tested this strategy. It didn't work extremely bad though (I had 2/3 on my scum reads, having pointed out RC's behavior at the start of game). And my opener was honest. It shows how much this game is based on paranoia. Yes it was scummy, but it was also a suicide to do that as scum ^^ the only big downside was being scumread.

You were pretty impressive, Oath. You were easily town MVP this game.

That's somewhat another reason why I don't think this setup works very well in practice:

You need multiple town that are mostly correct and willing to act on those suspicions, but if the rest of the town is completely convinced that your scumspects are town... you have to get yourself lynched to kill them, which removes your influence from the game.

It's a really tricky tradeoff.

I see. Tbh i personally dislike strategies like that because it confuses town even more
I can’t tell if someone is a scum and trying to hide it by saying he’s fishing or if he’s a townie doing that
It definitely has advantages in the reactions and all but you don’t give us your honest reads so I don’t know how to read you
