Shiptur is like 4th best at most. All he tends to do is farm the lane (somewhat poorly), go even, and cleanup teamfights. Meanwhile, most laners are able to get CS over him and several do more with it.

The problem with old AP nid was severalfold:

1) Large hitbox Q that practically one-shot squishies (this was a HUGE problem. One Q meant you gave up whatever objective was being sieged upon.)
2) Massive heals that gives attack speed on a relatively low cd (since you bought lots of cdr)
3) Spammable escape + ms in brush made her impossible to catch
4) Lack of reasons to use cougar form

The rework fixed 1 and 4, and lowered 2's problems by reducing the healing base (& ratio? I forget). Also, click the link. It helps understand.

You can be good at a champion that doesn't fit your style if you put in the time.

- Knows when to be aggressive with his taunts and when to peel with them

That's the basics of how to be a good shen. I probably missed some. He's not a mechanically complex champion, he just requires good macro.

Well they did stomp the last two championships? The last Western team to make a very impressive and deep run was Moscow 5. In Season 2. It's not until now that we can say there's precedent to say that western teams are perhaps getting better and closing the gap. There's still the rest of groups to go too so we'll see if they can translate their "success" into consistent play.

Because Seasons 3 and 4 mean a lot right now. The last Western team to win vs. KR/CH? Excluding worlds? At the very least, TSM at MSI.

Everyone's so set in their ways. Eastern teams and Western teams are much closer than they were over the last few seasons.

OK, fine, let's look at the ADCs you'll see in competitive, and see if this "ADCs in multiple roles" complaint is valid.

1) Kindred - Designed as Marksman Jungler, so being played in not bottom lane is optimal.
2) Quinn - Designed as a Solo Laner, so being played in not bottom lane is optimal.
3) Corki - Has seen play in the mid lane in past seasons, with little ADCs in multiple roles complaint.
4) Ezreal - Has seen play in the mid lane in past seasons, with little ADCs in multiple roles complaint.
5) Sivir - Only seen in bottom lane.
6) Kalista - Only seen in bottom lane.
7) Graves - Really the only potential complaint, but his kit makes little sense as a bottom lane ADC anymore.
8) Lucian - Is seen primarily in bottom lane, has seen play in top lane by 1 player successfully.
9) Caitlyn - Only seen in bottom lane.

Besides, the role that's busted right now is TANKS, not ADCs. If your complaint is ADCs being played in multiple roles = ADCs are broken, I disagree. If that's the case, then seeing tanks in support, top, and jungle last season is what made them OP, not the cinderhulk and other items.

If your complaint is ADC items are better than all other items in the game right now, so ADCs are busted, I disagree. Iceborn Gauntlet and Sunfire Cape are the best items IN THE GAME. Maw is the 3rd best item, yes, but it's an item that's supposed to be used by every champion that does large amounts of physical damage, so calling it an ADC item is strenuous at best. Tank items are BETTER than ADC items which are BETTER than mage items right now. But the mage update is in 6.9, so hold your whining for 6.9 when you can start calling mages OP instead.

Lest I remind you of when mages were played in top and mid? Where they busted because they saw play in multiple roles too?

You cannot physically makes ADCs non-mandatory. You have to do one of two things:

1) Remove structures
2) Remove their ability to do DPS

Both of which are, and have been, vital parts of ADC forever. The paper thin towers we have currently are the closest you'll ever get to 1), and removing 2) will just make tanks constantly overbearing because there's no other class in the game that can constantly kill them (and sans a few mages like Azir and Cassio, no one can kill many of the hypertanks).

Dwlee has a point. Also, if you're fundamentally changing how the game is played in order to change a class, then you may as well just make a separate game because you'll lose a massive chunk of the player base doing what you want.

Also, ADCs have been BALANCED around all of these facts for almost as long as ADCs have existed. So you're then fundamentally changing the balance of an entire class for the enjoyment of 1 person.

The problem with trundle support in this meta is he'll get obliterated in the lane phase. He has a lot of great toplane matchups, why are we putting him in a lane with zyra/malz/karma where he won't make it out?

He has a hard enough time laning vs. other melees, don't make him lane vs. ranged.
