I've been looking over some of the old dances since my /in, and wow, this game is different. Cool, though!

I admit that I'm a little concerned that my newbness might get a more experienced player unduly killed, so I'm kinda hoping there's a newb lady that wouldn't mind asking me to dance?

If not, it might be worth just leaving me to be the odd taru out for the good of town.

We absolutely can control people's pairings. If you pair out of order, you die via lynch. Prerogative of the town. It takes two to tango, which means if you pair out of order, then two people agreed to do awful thing and that icnreases the odds at least one of you is scum.

So yeah, death for anyone who pairs early or pairs outside plan.

I'm having to adjust my experience to account for the difference in play styles between IRL and forum mafia.

120 & 168 are two interactions between Moment and LLD where I thought Moment came across much townier.

Even though they disagreed with me in our interactions, it felt more like they were trying to get me on the same page than looking for a weakness to exploit.

Like I think the way this should go is RC should say who he wants to pair with, that lady should offer and that should get locked up.

Then we can start by making a couple of T+T by our guesses pairings. And then pair best with worst on each side.

I think the process of my giving reads out will unduly affect the way that the scum team plays the game in ways that will prove beneficial to them. Obviously this needs to be counterbalanced with keeping game momentum up so I think I'll wait like until Monday evening and then start giving reads then we can collectively start making pairings when we're ready after then?

I think Maria<->Cakez is a good pairing.

I also think Dunnstral<->LLD is a good pairing.

Because frankly 1) I think all four of those names are town now seeing their posting

and 2) I think all four of those names are entirely unafraid of killing themselves to kill the other if they get the slightest hint of them being scum.

Possible win right in the pre-game phase, and even in a worst case scenario, town retains majority and it shouldn't be that difficult for Radiant to PoE who's left.

First dance will end if there are 12 players or fewer left alive or deadline is reached. During the intermission, Mafia may secretly force one of the dance pairs to leave. Second dance will then begin, and continue until the game's end.

I guess this is a question -- if we only pair the top 4 pairs (8 players living going into first dance) then does it skip first dance and go immediately to intermission, so we would be going from the mass kill of unpaired dancers into a nightkill (unless we hit all 3 scum)?

I pretty much had this game tuned out pre-dance because I was wrapping up my newbie game (perfect town win, fun times) and you experienced players were talking a bunch of stuff I couldn't begin to relate to anyway.

I was in a game where my content actually mattered, whereas in this one everybody was just enjoying a popularity contest which, since I'm pretty much brand new, simply couldn't enjoy participating in.

Between the chumming around, meta talk, strategy discussion that I'm completely unfamiliar with, and bring angled into a pairing with somebody that has been nothing but abrasive to me, I just said fuck it and decided to agree with whatever.

I'm still not invested in this game... but I'm trying to care more now that it's not as much of a huge circle jerk with the pairings decided.

349 - saying LLD taking command looked town; I got the opposite vibe.
774 - twisting my 770 when I was basically the first to say what I was responding to in 747.
1763 - not a fan of your response to LLD
1836 - hard to explain, but the post didn't seem genuine
