Putting forward opposition harms more than it helps: the correct play is to do exactly what you guys are already doing, appeal to the individual voters to unvote and try to make it impossible to get the 8 requisite townies on the wagon.

Given that the wagon is almost certainly going through if I support it, the core counterplay is to get me to do something else... and oh majiffy yourself and alchemist have all tried to directly appeal to me to change my focus.

If you all voted a counterwagon it would be a lot more obvious to the remaining townies where the battle lines lie.
