Western teams were unlucky with who was sent. CLG was the only team that is in the top 2 in their region at the moment. You'd want to send CLG and C9/IMT and H2K + G2

Also, TL have shown they can do it in several games that they've won by a large margin. Dardoch and lourlo in particular are really starting to show off. I agree they won't quite be there by playoffs though.

I don't know if there's a really stinky FW game I haven't seen that's got everyone valuing C9 over them, but historically LMS 1st seed has been a good deal better than NA 1st seed, much less NA 3rd?

Cloud 9 should be NA 2nd seed, and can go head to head with TSM. CLG only got second because they won the spring split. They wouldn't have qualified without that.
NA as a region looks very strong this year, closer to 2015 EU rather than 2015 NA, and C9 tends to show up pretty well at big tournaments

Jungle has ADC (graves), Mage (Taliyah, Fiddles), as well as the tanks/bruisers/fighters that have historically dominated. Assassin and support are the only classes that have never been in the jungle in a meaningful capacity.

Support players have to play supports and tanks (cow, Leona, Taric, Shen), and there had been some mages who've been meta bots (Morgana, fiddlesticks)

junglers with khazix, rengar, full ad jarvan stuff like that for assassins
