I'm enjoying it quite a lot. The only part of it that was really called a dumpster fire afaik was the pricing model, but most of the things people were complaining about (in particular, the lack of a free draft mode and the fact that starter cards in packs were worthless) have been addressed. The pricing model is reasonable at this point, but we'll see what things look like when the steam market for cards launches after the beta.

I've been playing pretty much entirely expert phantom draft gauntlets. Been doing quite well. I've seen a pretty wide variety of things people have been trying in draft, including some monocolor and 4-color decks (I'm even running a 4-color deck right now, and it's 2-0 so far). Seems like there's a pretty wide variety of things that can work. The game is similar to dota in a sort of staggering number of ways, the most poignant of which IMO is that after a game it can be really difficult to tell why you won or lost, but on close examination it's usually pretty easy to spot a bunch of mistakes that both sides made.
