Macau - Aside from the language barrier, this would have potential to become my new pop anthem (not my usual favorite genre, but I always have a few songs I love) ★★★★½
Hungary - Don't have much to say, didn't like it ★★
Belarus - I think this one's like a classic, I feel like I already know it. Don't love it though ★★½

Qatar - Is this a prequel to "Friday" by Rebecca Black? ★½

Eh, with parama not around let's try this song by song commentary (note this is just how I feel about the song based on my personal taste so, yeah)
Macau - I like this. It's pretty chill, the singer can well.... sing, the video isn't much, but we're rating the songs so... *shrug* I feel it could have a bit more punch in it, but I would never turn this off.
Hungary - A bit more punch than the last one, doesn't make me want to praise it endlessly, but is a pretty nice listen.
Belarus - Like the ballad, like the guitar, but it doesn't really hold my interest. Kind of reminds me of the islander by Night Wish, but with less feeling.
Lebanon - I like this, like a lot. I mean it's a bit weird that for the longest time I couldn't understand they were saying money in the chorus, but it feels like a bit more electronic and slower panic! So yeah, pretty good (Also love the video).
Slovenia - I really wanted to like this song. Like it's slow but appropriately slow, and pretty sad. And then the conclusion "and btw love ain't worth the heartbreak, don't do that." Which I can't get behind. The instrumentation is great though.
Qatar - Lol. A star for the chuckles, but nothing for the rest.
Micronesia - Has the right emotion and punch, but it's not always clear what the lead singer is actually singing. I can appreciate it.
Greenland - Okay now this is cool. Like really cool, like the Megaman theme, like the instument. Yeah this is pretty much perfect.
Hong Kong - Proof that music can be used for good in this world.
Spain - Honestly...just sort of bores me. It's a pleasant song but I can't get into it.
Liechtenstein - WHEN I WAS A YOUNG BOY, MY DAD TOOK ME, TO THE CITY, TO SEE A MARCHING BAND. Yeah I like this song a lot, definitely one I've heard a lot of. Wouldn't call it perfect, but damn near there, has power, emotion, and a strong singer.
Saudi Arabia - I like this, really gets through the idea of being distraught and in a situation you never expected with some strong instrumentation to go with it.
USA - ugh...I get why you may like this song but it's just a bit too...screamy for me and assaults my ears.
Djibouti - Solid, I mean it sounds like this guy really wants to be in Mumford and Sons, but it's pretty solid.
Kuwait - My song. I like Watsky a lot and while this isn't one of his "raps fast" songs I like the sentimentality of it. That and it's pretty catchy, so yeah.
Tanzania - It's alright. Pretty jazzy but not quite. I like that.
Ecuador - No...just no.
Ivory Coast - This song is pretty beautiful, but it also makes me want to sleep.
Portugal - It's alright. Still lacks a punch though.
Bhutan - The opening was promising but in the end it just wasn't my thing.
Sudan - Song is pretty strong all the way through. Knows when to switch things up and is a lot of shredding without becoming too long. It's pretty great, like really great.

Macau -- -- this is fun and loud and dynamic, but it's not something I can really get that super into. it's well-made pop, but I'm not sure it's more than that.
Hungary -- -- this just doesn't really do that much for me, I'm sorry to say. it's not a terrible song, just not one that I really love either.
Belarus -- -- this isn't really the sort of song I like very much, but it was a nice one to listen to once. this seems like it might be fun to hear live.
Lebanon -- -- there are a lot of things I enjoy about this, but it just doesn't quite come together for me.
Slovenia -- -- I went to the Wikipedia page for this band, and here's an excerpt from that: "Mayday Parade's musical style has been described as pop punk,[41][43][44][45] pop rock,[42][46] alternative rock,[47][48] emo pop,[49][50] emo,[6][50][51] and rock.[6][39][50][51] A Lesson in Romantics has been described as pop punk.[52] Anywhere but Here has been described as pop punk[53][54] and pop rock.[53] Mayday Parade has been described as pop punk[55] and pop rock.[56] Monsters in the Closet has been described as pop punk,[57][58] pop rock[59] and rock.[60] Black Lines has been described as emo,[61] emo pop,[62] pop punk,[63] and rock.[64]" I'm glad we have all that settled!
Qatar -- -- none of the dishes the other children brought in this music video are covered. you should really put, like, some plastic wrap over those cranberries until they're ready to be eaten.
The Federated States of Micronesia -- -- this is pretty good! it's good
Greenland -- -- I will never be excited to hear a videogame song I've never heard before played using an unusual combination of instruments. also, these music videos where it's just a montage of very boring shots of musical instruments (in this case, weird improvised musical instruments) are really boring and I wish that trend would stop.
Hong Kong -- -- the sex act described in this song is physically impossible. please do not attempt it.
Spain -- -- this is a perfectly adequate 7 minute long instrumental. it's not really much more than that, though, and I think it'd work better if it weren't, y'know, seven minutes.
Liechtenstein -- -- WHEN I WAS... A YOUNG BOY... MY FATHER... TOOK ME INTO THE CITY... TO SEE A MARCHING BAND
Saudi Arabia -- -- I liked this quite a bit! very nice
USA -- -- I'm not the biggest fan of music where the vocals are delivered via screaming, but that's only part of this song, and I would be a liar if I said that even the screaming parts aren't the slap.
Djibouti -- -- I like this bowtie banjo boy quite a bit.
Kuwait -- -- I hate this dude's whiny voice a lot!
Tanzania -- -- Chickadee plays another song by Lily Allen, "Fuck You", in the team fox discord a lot. I like that one, and I like this one too!
Ecuador -- -- this is not a good song. who submitted this one? why? do you enjoy this? this is bad, but I'm worried that unlike the other truly awful songs submitted this contest that the person who submitted it might believe it's actually great.
Portugal -- -- this is just not very interesting to me? I never felt emotions about it
Ivory Coast -- -- this was a pretty good song, but it never fully hooked me. it was nice, though!
Bhutan -- -- I just didn't really like this one very much.
Sudan -- -- this is fine, I guess.- Save The Dragons

K I found (well, made) a free hour and am gonna attempt this. Def no time to do the star system tho. Sorry!
Macau: LOONA - Egoist
Prime example that all Kpop is not the same!
Catchy and smooth. I really liked the dance break too.
Hungary: Nataša Bekvalac - Nikotin
Easy to listen to and a nice feel.
Probably will place averagely, but I do like it.
Belarus: Gordon Lightfoot - The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Love this piece! We did a line by line analysis of it in grade 8 and it's stuck with me since.
It really tells quite the story which is what I go for a lot in songs.
And Lightfoot has such a knack for keeping it dreamy yet interesting. And the way he uses the supporting instruments is fantastic!
You can almost hear the waves hitting the hull at the beginning, and it picks up in intensity as he talks about the storm does.
Legit great instrumentation and execution.
Lebanon: Mystery Skulls - Money
Lol Ace Attorney(?) does Daft Punk does Bongo Cat!
Song was aight, video was great! Won't end up high if at all, but thanks lol
Slovenia: Mayday Parade - Terrible Things
Ooo this is fantastic! Very yes!
*as it progressed*
This is literally why I come here Oh My God! <3
5/5 all the stars!
Qatar: Nicole Westbrook - It's Thanksgiving
Oh No. I'm having flashbacks to Friday.
Is this by the same people?? :S
WAIT IVE HEARD THIS BEFORE!!!
Why have I heard this before!?!?
Mashed Potatoes! HEY!
Oh, it literally is that weird guy who did this too XD That's why I've seen it!
Also, the "mashed potatoes guy brought cranberry sauce. and weird turkey costume is weird. and wtf is with her and mashed potatoes!?!? XD
The Federated States of Micronesia: Nothing But Thieves - What Can I Do If The Fire Goes Out?
This is really nice!
He struggled a bit with the higher notes at their quiet spots, a little off in pitch, but overall liked it.
Kinda middling as well, but well done.
Greenland: Wintergatan - Dr Wily's Castle/Mega Man 2
Ooo is this vidya? Let's find out!
Ooo yeah, I love when people make these things and music out of non-musical stuff!
Instrument is theramin/ottamotone like and that's a very interesting sound.
I like it, picked fun pieces to do. Usually these are more medleys which is better as this kinda got repetitive after a bit.
Clever use of the match though!
Hong Kong: Horsedick.mpeg - Suck My Dick
Uhh...no. Just no.
Imma skip through it and see if I missed anything.
...
...
Nope.
Spain: The Allman Brothers Band - In Memory of Elizabeth Reed
I was about to say "hat an early 70s feel" then I looked at the date and yeah! XD
This is good, but I'm not into big guitar solos and I'm not so much one for the Rock Instrumental in general.
It's part of the reason I was never big on Hendrix.
I'll pass, but it was alright.
Liechtenstein: My Chemical Romance - Welcome to the Black Parade
<3
Such a great song!
Saudi Arabia: Imogen Heap - The Walk
Pretty good, not much to say but that.
I like Imogen
USA: Cat Company - Morpheus The Black
Too rocky. Too fast. Nah.
Djibouti: Matthew Mole - Take Yours, I'll Take Mine
Is Mine! I like
Kuwait: Watsky - Sloppy Seconds
Damn Watsky!
He's pretty impressive and I actually quite like his stuff!
This is endearing is a weird way, and I like where he went with it!
Tanzania: Lily Allen - 22
Oh no, I think this song is about me :S
I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22!
This is actually really good tho and I'm totally adding it to the playlist of songs I like from Song Contests!
Yes, I made a playlist for them so I won't lose them. I think it's brilliant okay!
Ecuador: Rave the Reqviem - Are You Happy Now, Fidelio?
Nope. Leaving this one behind.
Sorry, too much for me. Chorus is aight tho.
Ivory Coast: Sá, Rodrix & Guarabyra - Dona
What a nice change of pace!
The only offputting thing is the drums seem to be slightly out of sync or something and it throws off the feel of the song, and a couple parts of the song feel rushed somehow.
Overall aight tho. The end part was fun with the trumpets and whatnot!
Portugal: Father John Misty - Mr. Tillman
Good sound, and what a story to start with XD
Is...is this guy a drug lord in a hotel or something?
Oh wait, is he crazy? Maybe he's just crazy/sad/on said drugs
Bhutan: Haruomi Hosono - Sports Men
I could put this on in the background easily, and I think that's because the driving rhythm is so strong and is higher than the vocals.
It just kinda flows around without needing attention.
Sudan: Animals as Leaders - The Woven Web
I mean, I can hear the webs being woven with the guitars playing around and interweaving with each other.
It's well done, even if not my thing. If I vote it it will be on music theory basis though, not because of pure enjoyment.
Like, the polyrhythmic parts are well done and that's really hard to pull off!
Wooooo!
