Current Game:
Discord Channel
The game is similar to codenames in many ways, general gist is that your team has 4 words that only you can see and then a player must give clues about 3 of those words for you to work out the order of the 3 words...however each round the other team will learn more and more about your 4 words using the clues given and will try to intercept the clues...full rules below:
(Anything in brackets is an example of what is given, all examples relate to each other)
Both teams start with 4 code-words, numbered 1-4, you can only see the code-words for you own team
(1-Car 2-Book 3-Head 4-Fox)
Each round is played following a series of steps, both teams follow each step simultaneously
At the end of each round we check the win conditions to see if either team has won
The aim of each round is for the clue giver to give clues obvious enough for their own team to know what they are going for but vague enough that the other team doesn't know what it relates to
1) A random player is given a Code-Number (1,4,2)
2) This player then thinks of 3 clues related to the words given in the Code-Number (Car, Fox, Book)
3) The player send in the 3 clues to the moderator (Boat, Animal, Story)
4) Your team is given the 2 sets of clues and must discuss on discord what they believe the 2 sets of code numbers are
(Use information gained on previous rounds to help you work out the other teams codes)
5) submit your codes in the submission section of your teams discord chat
6) Both Code-Numbers are revealed
-If you guessed the other teams Code-Number correctly, you gain an intercept token
-if you guessed your own teams Code-Number incorrectly, you gain a miscommunication token
7) Go back to step 1, but use the knowledge gained from this round to help you next round
(1 is related to the word Boat, 2 is related to the word Story and 4 is related to the word Animal)
Step 4, you only need to work out your own teams code during round 1
Each step has a 24 hour deadline
A team wins if they have 2 intercept token OR the other team has 2 miscommunication token
If both teams win simultaneously then the following tie-breaker steps are taken:
1) A team gains 1 point per intercept token and loses 1 point per miscommunication token, add up these scores to gain a winner
2) If scores are tied, each team will try to guess the other teams Code-Words, each team gains 1 point per word guessed
3) If both teams are tied then both teams win (or lose, depending on what kind of a joyful person you are)
-A clue can take many forms, from a word to a sentence, official rules allow for humming and dancing, so for online I shall allow youtube/pictures
-A clue must relate to the meaning of a word
-The Clues must never refer to the spelling (“C” to hint at “Cursed”), the number of letters (“8” or “8 letters” to hint at “Scorpion”), the position on the word (“musketeers” to hint at the word in the third position), or pronunciation (“face” to make your team guess “Place”)
-Must use information that is publicly available (No using information that only 1 player would understand)
-Never use the same clue twice, even if it's about a different word
-Never use part of a word or the word itself as part of the clue (likewise using a translation of a clue)
