I'll start with the current topic discussions. Obviously we can talk about anything, but I'll post some community driven discussion and updates in that post.


Boon Bank Roles
- I definitely want to change some of them up. StickyFruit Vendor and maybe Cleric. Symbiotic and Enchantress I feel are great roles to be in the Boon Bank, as they aren't overly difficult, but I definitely wouldn't put them in the RoleBook, at least not until they've been used about 3 times each, but even then, they might still be better suited for the Boon Bank. We can use this slot to help integrate specific roles. This is the slot that I feel makes this series super unique.

Bunyip
- Yeah, I'll refrain from voting, but I definitely feel Bunyip should move over officially to the RoleBook before the next BooneyToonz game even.

Variant Renaming
- I really don't know what other name to use, but I don't think Variant fits in this series. I was thinking maybe the Toon Role? or something revolving around the Toonz part of BooneyToonz. Suggestions welcomed.

Stats
- Stats are pretty easy right now since there's only been 8 games. Would be a cool thing. Anyone could technically help out with this if they wanted to look into some weird stats, like how many scum were lynched in each BooneyToonz game. This would be cool to look at for players who are currently playing in a BooneyToonz game to help out with arguments and whatnot. I definitely think it's acceptable to talk about stuff being discussed in this thread inside a BooneyToonz game.

I could also do some sort of Scummies like thing, but sillier, of course. I could even do things like "Silliest Self Admitted Derp Moment". This kind of thing would be easy to implement as we move onwards.

Wiki Page
- Yeah, not much to say here for me. I'm going to link all the roles in the RoleBook to the wiki pages so anyone who is unsure of a role, for instance Bunyip, they can just click it, and see what it does. Since it's going to the RoleBook likely, the role PM for it won't be there.

Bunyip has been used enough where anyone familiar with a BooneyToonz game will have heard of it. Also, it's a pretty basic role, and is perfect for a free usage role. This made a lot of sense, and the poll was pretty unanimous that it should be added into the RoleBook.

Willbooster replacing Bunyip on the Boon Bank is exciting. It's a role from Gamma Emerald, a BooneyToonz regular alongside being the player modding the next BooneyToonz game. It's unique enough where it's generally never thought about to be in a game, while not being overly complicated. I'm excited to see the potential usage.

Updates and History will have any changes to the Boon Bank and the guidelines in general. Any milestones for the BooneyToonz series will also be posted there.

BooneyToonz has a completed archive!!! Yay!!! One easy place to have the links to all 8 BooneyToonz game thus far, alongside the winners and the setups themselves.

BooneyToonz aren’t normal games. They played with the old normal queue guidelines (which they won’t confirm or deny, but let’s be honest, BooneyToonz was a big reason they had to change it), and it developed a nice following.

But yeah, these are theme games with set guidelines.

I’m going to give an update on what I have planned for this year.

I’m going to run 2 more regular BooneyToonz games, and hopefully one more Extravaganza, potentially something not in the BT series, because Alisae is subtly, not so subtly pushing that I make a game like the Civ Mafia, and honestly, I already have something I’ve been working on in that fashion for about a year.

I’m also a screenwriter, and I have this web series like thing that I wrote a couple episodes with, and I’ll probably write a few more, and use that as the flavor for one of my games. “The Silly Shenanigans of Professor Preposterous” super cheesy, a lot of word play...yeah. It’s like a Dr. Horrible meets Professor Doofenschmirtz from Phineas and Ferb, so I might create a setup around the web series screenplay, maybe even my next Extravaganza.

There’s a chance I might not have July-October free, though, (I got an audition for a lead role in a film, and I’m feeling pretty good about it) so if that’s the case, I’ll be traveling for that time, and the Extravaganza will get pushed back. If that doesn’t happen, then I’ll likely run that Extravaganza starting in the summer.

Also, the game I created and put as the Boonus Rounds, I’m probably going to go to the Social Games section, and host a few legit games of that. This is a game I’m trying to publish and sell eventually, so I’m looking into trying it out.

I also have a MUCH deeper non mafia game that I might try and make a Mish Mash game out of in this insane head of mine, but it might be too much on forum, and might just have to save that for when I want to make it into a board game.

If anyone ever played on Funorb.com, I pulled from a game on that site. I loved that site.

I like that. You’re right, it technically is a role already, and it’s so specific that it’s fine. I’ll add the definition in the Mutations section, which I’ll be updating when I have time. It’s all stuff that’s already acceptable, but things like the different traitor mechanics explained, or like what happened with Desperate in Slums.

Thoughts on starting to abbreviate BooneyToonz in game titles as BTNZ to allow for more room and less filler looking titles? Obviously the title in the beginning is necessary, and I don’t hate spelling it all out, but as more and more come into existence, the numbers are making the titles longer, haha.

Also, I think it’s time for another Team Mafia like event. I might try and see if there’s a playerbase for it, and I’m willing to spearhead if need be.

If that’s not an option, I debated doing my own kind of event with a series of just BooneyToonz games, like 3 separate simultaneous games, with a team, obviously. 3 different types of BooneyToonz games. I’d take a step back from playing and focus on Modding if need be.

Hell, if I need to, I’ll mod like 3 or 4 games simultaneously, one on each account. :lol:

I’ve decided to do another Extravaganza, it’s basically 3 separate games, partner mafia. 1 player is in one game, 1 player is in the second, then the 3rd game is a secret alt hydra game.

My flavor is going to be Boon Wars, basically a Boon version of the Star Wars Prequels.

Did the same thing except they didn’t die. I put in Mutations it could be played as either, but it had to be specified in the role PM. Made more sense then making an entirely new modifier.

This is probably going to take a back seat for later in the year. I need a small break, so I don’t want to go too ham just yet. Probably will just do something easier to handle.

Hunted's Win Condition is last to a specific day, while the Hunter has to make sure they don't. It's a direct 1v1.

Last game I have the Hunter a charge mechanic, and the Hunted a Compulsive FruitVendor like ability, but it also would only rolestop the Hunter.

That’s what the Boon Bank roles are for. :)

I’ll add a Boon Bank submission to the front page.

We’re kind of separate from the normal queue, most of our games lately have been ran in the Large Theme queue. We essentially just limit the amount of wtf’ery we have in one game, and the Guidelines really change how you setup spec.

I don’t think there’s any normal roles that aren’t in the Role Book here as it is.

Multitasking definitely should be in the role book. However, I do have the option listed to allow for Multitasking without the modifier I’d announced pregame on the Checklist.

I really like the Superstar role. A lot, actually.

I think the Invoker could be used better as a Variant slot before moving to the Boon Bank, haha.

Yeah, I do all my games in the large theme, so it’s required. Pretty much the same way as any theme game, you look for someone who would be willing to review/back up mod before signing up.

Using this thread even can help you find people specifically for BooneyToonz.

I’m generally always willing too, but it’s always good for people to get experience in reviewing games.

Awesome. I believe AF is doing the same thing.

I think it’s okay to have multiple Booneytoonz going at the same time. BooneyToonz is pretty vast, and different mods’ games will be drastically different from others.

Awesome. Normal games have changed a good amount since BooneyToonz started its guidelines, so I think this definitely fills a niche not seen on site anymore.

I like that Mediator role for sure.

and I could see many uses for Shield that could lead to some fun instances.

I might take those creations of yours and put in the Boon Bank.

yeah, Mutated Doctor could allow for full protection. Otherwise Bunyip is single too.

Let's say IDT is not built in loud, because then you could always just have a Loud IDT with the modifier.

Whenever I decide to do my next BooneyToonz, I'll make Mutations much clearer.

It is pretty much a Named Townie, except it is ContraBoon'd for any alignment other than Town (as a non-Town Earl would constitute a moderator lie).
If you just let it be knows your alignment it doesn't have to be contraboond and adds a slight level of setup building utility.

A Mafia Earl Doctor would become a gunsmith inno rolecop guilty, instead of being likely innod by a rolecop for example.

i would say it's more of a Variant of Informed, but when in doubt, I think MUTATED is always okay to use in the scenario. Biggest thing with that is that I feel it should be on the Role PM if it will flip with their role and Informed by default is [redacted].

Underutilized. Want the option open. I would probably not end the game on a jester fade, and would likely have some kind of variation, but haven’t put too much thought into it.

The jester/hunted could need to specifically get elimmed and the hunter/antijester could have a one shot day kill.

Or: mimes.
is the mime flavor what does it for ya, the gameplay of it, or the combination of both?

Yeah, I think I’ll put some time updating some stuff here. I like everything that’s been going on here a lot, and I want to get BooneyToonz in a really solid position going forward.

I think with the Normal Game queue change changing so much, BooneyToonz can also start further going down its own path.

My mind’s still processing Thaumaturge.

yeah, these are good. I'm going to have to edit in the wiki links for everything instead of doing spoilered for Boon Bank, I think. Mass overhaul coming with this. i think we add most of these roles, i think most are normalish, and haven't been used too often.
