I mean, I get frustrated playing as town because it chuffs me all wrong that scum can just decide who can't play the game anymore.
I hate getting lynched D1 for the same reason.
Like damn it's annoying to be hype for a game and hardly get to even play it
At least these folks got to get all the way to LYLO.

Games usually go about the full deadline on the first Day phase and then tend to last roughly a week each day phase after that, sometimes shorter if people have their mind made up.
I think the whole 24-hour prod range is kinda huge given that if someone only posted once every 24 hours on average I'd have a real tough time figuring them out.

Also this game reminded me what Bloodborne taught me, which is that a mechanic should never be built solely into a role, because if that role dies, the cool mechanics you thought up are moot.

Ya'll, I'm downloading 66 gigs of data right now to supplement the research and content I need to produce this game
I'm about to dump 72+ unpaid hours into building a setup for you folks
If I'm willing to do all this, please hash out stuff and come to a happy agreement moving forward

Cerb, I was sure that you were third party and, if not, I was gonna be happy with a lynch on you otherwise.
Should be obv from our scum PT.

@Amzela: You're new, not bad. There's a lot of room for improvement, but the game was definitely fast paced. 200 pages in 1 month is a lot.

@Cerb: I'm pretty much the same way. I was even tempted to implement a 'Wisdom-of-the-Mod' rule about not letting players who I know couch games in toxic rhetoric, but I'm going to stand by not having any blacklists on my games.

@Nancy: Please don't judge someone so harshly for providing harshly worded criticism, even if it's not due. I honestly think you should both apologize to each other, to some degree. I think you misplayed LYLO here, too, and if I was town, I'd be really frustrated about it, too, just like I was with Shoshin in the post-game of TAZ mafia; but it's more about being frustrated with a person's play and not voicing it in a way that person is going to appreciate or actually care to grapple with.

Hey now
I outright scumclaimed on page 1 with RCE and Flavor, I handed you that.

@A50: With the role-PMs were a little fancier and more direct about what abilities were what and how they functioned.
Like it all worked as a written paragraph but I'm way partial to my formatting methods :P

Hahaha global vig that's so dumb no one would ever put that in a non-bastard game

Subject: SAGA FRONTIER MAFIA (GAME END)

Blue's full role functions as follows:

Spoiler:
Skybird - BLUE
A magician destined to kill his brother
Image
You seem useful.
Realm Magic: Energy Chain

Night Only; Target player will be unable to take any actions tonight and will take one less vote to lynch on the following day.

Our Kingdom does not require two incomplete magicians. We need a superior one.

There is a player named Rouge in this game.
If you are on the wagon that lynches Rouge or if you kill Rouge, you will gain every 'Magic' ability that Rouge had when he died.
You will also gain access to two unique 'Magic' abilities after killing or lynching Rouge in this way.

Your first duty is to travel to the outer regions learning all types of magic, refining your art to a higher level.

If you hammer a player, you will be given the choice of a school of magic to gain.
Choosing a school of Magic will grant a corresponding 'Magic' ability.

Living in your brother's shadow, you will never be a true magician.

When you gain one school of Magic, Rouge can only gain the opposing school of magic.
When Rouge gains one school of Magic, you will be informed of this and you may only pick the opposing school when given the option.

Fade to Sepia. The End.

You are aligned with the Protagonists (town). You win when all threats to the Protagonists are eliminated and at least one Protagonist-aligned player is still alive, or nothing can prevent the same.

Skybird had access to no other TECHNIQUES or MAGIC.
Varsoon wrote: MOD NOTE (SPELLS):
LIGHT or SHADOW:
-MegaWindBlast: Non-consecutive Vig Kill
-Shadow Servant: So long as no player has voted for you, your vote counts x2 and your abilities will cast twice.
ARCANE or RUNE:
-Tower: Vig Kill, can be used during day; if used during the day it is a Strongman kill. One shot.
-Stasis Rune: Target another player. Both you and that player are treestumped for two game phases.
TIME or SPACE:
-Overdrive: If used during day, you may vote a player 8 times. If used at night, you can use 8 abilities at once. Allows more than one shot of Tower. Causes Stasis Rune to change your vote into 8 votes forever. One shot.
-Vortex: All other players lose access to any activated abilities and TECHNIQUES they have. This does not affect factional abilities or any QUEST rewards and they may still learn new Techs
Once you kill BLUE/ROUGE, you will gain LIFE MAGIC:
-Reviva: Target Player gains 1x bulletproof.
-Sacrifice: No other player will die tonight, but you permanently take 1 less vote to lynch.

So
If you had Shadow Servant active
And you used Overdrive
It'd Double Overdrive
So you would use 16 abilities at once
All of which would cast twice because lol shadow servant
So 32 shots of Tower.

I don't know why I designed it such that after hammering just 3 players, TWO DIFFERENT ROLES could potentially get access to a 32-person kill.
SaGa Frontier wasn't very balanced.
God I love that game.

Those were just kills.
Nevermind the global lynch stuff.
I think the failsafe for Blue/Rouge was that there were at least enough roles that were bulletproof during night that if they went nuclear and dealt 32 Nightkills, the next day would be something like 3 town, 1 third party, 1 scum or some nonsense.

The idea was far less of "Give one player a global vig" and more like "If I gave one player ultimate power, how would they use it?"

Reminds me of how Space Dandy 2 had a mechanic where the game thread was in two separate PTs labeled 'Dimension A' and 'Dimension 1'; people in Dimension 1 kept calling the other thread Dimension 2 and people in Dimension A kept calling the other thread Dimension B.
