DoND: Player VS Banker [EP4: StrangerCoug vs Xalxe]

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Sun Dec 23, 2018 6:22 pm

Post by Tatsuya Kaname »

Two years ago I tried modding Deal or No Deal with users playing as the Banker. It turned out not so bad but flopped because of the good old yours sincerely.
Well, I'm trying to bring it back, with less fluff and hopefully more excitement. We traveled back to the bigger land and it's time to play...

Image

RULESThere are 26 cases, packed randomly via Random.org. Each of them contain different amounts of money from $.01 to $1,000,000.
Image

Player chooses one case to own and is subjected to win whatever is in it.
To learn the value of their case, the player opens other cases in a seires of rounds, revealing different money amounts and eliminate the possibilities of the player's case value.
After each round, the Banker calls in, offering a 'deal' to buy the player's case and send them home.
Of course, the Banker's goal is to make the player leave as fast as possible, with as little as possible.
Will the player take the guarantee, or risk it for bigger amounts?
The main question is asked:
DEAL OR
NO DEAL?

BUT IT'S DoND 2.0If the player takes the deal, that's it, they win the money, the Banker takes the case and we wrap up. If the player refuses the offer, the game continues, which means the player would have to open up more cases before the next offer rings in.
BUT, there is now a new option. After hearing the offer, the player may, only once in a game, issue a
counter-offer
to the Banker. If the Banker takes the offer, its a done deal, but if the counter-offer is rejected, the game must continue and the player continues opening boxes.
Remember that on the first round, the player opens 6 cases. The number of cases to open decreases by one each round to the point where the player opens one case at a time before each offer, until there are two cases remaining; one of player's and another on the board, at which point the final offer occurs. If the final offer is refused, the player leaves with what's in the case (unless the Banker calls for a swap opportunity).

HOW TO JOINThere will be a player queue and a Banker queue. To join the queue, everyone may
/in
either as a player, or a Banker, or both. Each game will have 1 player and 1 banker playing. Of course, you cannot play as both at the same time, so if you happen to be at the top of both queues, you will be called as a player first (which the banker will be second down the line) (or vice-versa if applicable), then you can be the Banker on the next game.
Both queues have a 3-game gap. Once you played as a player, you cannot play as a player again for 3 games and by re-/in-ing instantly you will be put to the 3rd (or further) position of the queue. Same goes for banker. If you re-/in later, you'll be placed as close to position (3 minus games after one you played).

THE BANKERUnlike the last series, there will be no team, PT or the alt. Too overwhelming. Only one Banker plays at a time (as described above). As a banker, you may use any tools and outside source you like to help you calculate the offer as I will not aid you in any ways. Your score as a banker comes from the difference between the completed 'deal' and the player's case value. In case the player goes all the way, your score is the difference between your final offer and what's in the
UNCHOSEN
case. And yes, the score can be negative.

EXTRA NOTES*As a banker, excessive roleplay is encouraged, you are the infamous Banker anyway.
*You may play as an anonymous Banker, hiding identity until the game is over. If you want to, PM me and I'll grab the old alt for you.
*48-hour prodline is in effect. Three prods or no reply means replacement.
*Bear with me, the game might flop again because of me getting lazy. If the game is getting slow, please ping me if you care.

Welcome to the show,
NotAJumbleOfNumbers
. Let's hope your
Case 17
has the big money. Including yours, there are 26 cases here, each holding different amounts of money. No one knows about the contents of all cases because they are packed by a third party. We do know, that one of the cases contain,

$1,000,000

(cheers)

All the way down to one penny. To find out what's in your case, one by one, you'll open those remaining cases. What's in those cases are not in your case. Let's get a good start and get rid of those small numbers. Jumble, choose
6 cases
to be opened up and start us off. (You can do one at a time or all at once, it's up to you)

Here we go, case number 8. Open the case...

Spoiler: Case #8
$10,000

That's okay.

What about number 14?

Spoiler: Case #14
$25

(applauses)

Nice! Good shape so far.

Can we see case number 10, please.

Spoiler: Case #10
$300,000

(groans)

That's a big one. Still the million and three-quarters are still there, don't worry.

How about case #4?

Spoiler: Case #4
$5

(applauses)

Much better!

Open case 13...

Spoiler: Case #13
$1

(cheers)

Wonderful one!

Final case before the offer, case #5. Open the case...

Spoiler: Case #5
$1,000,000

(loud groans)

Oh.... This is not what I expect for the first game. But good news, there are still some good 6 figures on the board.

Spoiler: After Round 1 - 5 Cases to open if No Deal

123----6
$$7--9--$$
1112----1516

17
181920$$
212223242526

$______300$__400,000
$______400$__500,000
$______500$__750,000
$______750$1,000,000

Well, you knocked the million out right off the bat. But look at the bright side, you still have five 6-figure digits on the board, including $750,000 so don't panic.

Now, there's one person who wanted you to leave the game as fast as possible with as little as possible. That person is the Banker,
Charles510
. Look at his face, he's relieved. He'll try to make you an offer and buy your case.

Remember, this is Deal or No Deal 2.0. At one point in the game, and only once, you may try to make a
Counter-Offer
to the bank. The Counter-Offer should better be reasonable, though. If the banker accepts the Counter-Offer, then that's your money and he takes your case. If the Banker says "No Deal", all the money is wiped and you would have to continue picking cases. Which in this case, you'll open 5 more cases before the next offer.

Now here's the Banker's first offer.

(Phone rings...)

(Applauses)

By the way, the offer looked generous for the first one. Hmmm..

Five more cases starting with Case #1, open the case.

Spoiler: Case #1
$750,000

(groans)

That. is. not. good.

Case #2, let's see some left side.

Spoiler: Case #2
$100,000

(more groans)

Maybe you can get $500,000, don't worry just yet.

What about Case #3? Open that case.

Spoiler: Case #3
$300

(cheers)

Much better! Keep opening more of the left side!

Case #7, what's in that case?

Spoiler: Case #7
$200

(more cheers)

Keep it coming, keep it coming!

Finally, number 12...

Spoiler: Case #12
$75

(more cheers)

Nice one to end the round.

You knocked out $750,000. But you also knocked out some small numbers. You can still win something big, maybe $500,000.

(Phone rings...)

And there's the phone with the Banker coming with the second offer. If you say No Deal, you'll have to open
4 more cases
. You can also
Counter-Offer
, if you want to. Remember that you can only counter once in a game.

That's a good one!

Number 22, what's inside number 22?

Spoiler: Case #22

That's okay, that's not what you want to see in your case.

Moving to 23, please show us some low numbers.

Spoiler: Case #23

Great pick!

Finally, Case 24, open the case...

Let's see what the Banker has to say. If you say No Deal, you'll have to open
3 more cases
. You still also have the
