I think people's wagon analysis needs to be tempered with the gladiate system in mind.

@Chara: Not saying he was a bus so much as him gladiating early was planned and scum were in a good position re:people's reads at the time. Still seems to be the case.

Gamma's scum every time, Penguin's either scum or a set up, but Gamma's scum all the time here.

The fact that Gamma's several last posts weren't just a Penguin gladiate was enough for me
The back-to-back Nancy shading with the posturing after sealed it for me.

Scum were also highly likely trying to run down the clock given that I am V/LA here and town needs all its votes on scum to get the lynch

@Chara: Or Gamma and Penguin are just scum together and he's got to shade Nancy in the event that he does eventually gladiate-bus Penguin, but they were definitely going for a run-down-the-clock victory with both slots set up to gladiate each other refusing to gladiate while being very absent from the game thread.

Because there's still the fringe doubt that Penguin's town set up to take the last lynch.
Gamma's scum here no matter what
Whereas Penguin is just highly likely.

The likeliest option is that they're scum together.
Which, again, is why neither gladiated and were both doing a lot of nothing.
I went for Gamma because Gamma's more likely out of the two, IE:
I could see Gamma scum and Penguin town
I could not see Penguin scum and Gamma town.

Also, I expect that the scum plan is also to disparage anyone who gladiated before the day ended as 'gladiating before consensus' just as Penguin did here, which is hardly applicable; We have 3 days left in the deadline, one of which is New Year's Eve and all of which fall on New Year's weekend.

@Chara: You're one of the players I consider more likely to be town out of everyone else. We lose on a town v town gladiate.

You can release the scum PT.

I think town has better chances of winning without getting the sword, for sure.
Pretty much every scum maneuver worked though, which was the problem.

I figured that one of two things would happen if we ran down the timer:
1. Town would figure it out at least to the point of Penguin getting gladiated and lynched.
2. We'd end on a no-lynch win with lies about holiday/weekend activity, which is kinda lame.

So I went for the gladiate.
PT should show that I kinda considered it a day or two earlier, even.

Have more confidence, Chara. Your reads won't always be right, but when they feel right, go for it. Better to commit to something you believed in and end up wrong than to not commit when you were right.

@Fakegod: Just goes to show that mafia's a game of rhetoric more than mechanics.
I'm not a fan of white-flag at all, felt paralyzing at times, like "Well damn, I can't bus or sacrifice myself..." and that final gladiate by me was really an all-or-nothing move because Penguin would be dead after I was.
I think that this setup had a ton of swing, is all. Extra kills do that. Stop making setup with extra kills? I dunno.

I'd prefer 3p scum over 4p whiteflag as either side, probably.

It's true, we did roll into Arthur as vig, which is an unlikely scenario, but there it is.

As scum, I don't want White Flag because we still lose after 3 caught but we've got a whole other slot worth of associative tells getting thrown up.
