Maru it is 100% possible to make a pirate ship with sails instead of a giant balloon on top and make it flyable. You need to include more sails and add balloons to the sides. I understand what you're saying, and I'm saying I disagree.

This is not a case of "No because I say so". This is a very simple decision that you are turning into a larger issue when it doesn't need to be.

OK SO... when "finishing up" during loading, it appeared to freeze for several minutes but then it kept going and loaded up fine. we shall see... if i can connect and if there is any fps garbage on my POS ancient laptop. cross your fingers

MODDED NEWS!!


I've created a new modded pack with a theme -
MAGIC
. Tech mods are very limited, for instance, no Thermal Expansion or EnderIO (but Actually Additions and Extra Utils 2 are included). The full modlist and current pack file download can be found here. The idea here is to explore new branches and ways of doing things to bring that bright "newbie" shine back to modded since we've basically always had the same things over and over and over again.

Psst... THAUMCRAFT IS BACK


The files have been uploaded to a server for testing while I work on the configs:
forge: .2796 for 1.12.2
server IP: msmagic.g.akliz.net

Once testing and configs are done, I'll upload both the mods and configs folders, and put the links in the OP. I am using MultiMC to launch. We can port to Twitch after if necessary.

Ugly stuff generally means gravel/dirt/cobble boxes or anything like that near spawn. The first thing people see should be nice to look at but we don’t expect architectural geniuses lol, especially with modded.

magical plant area - botania, mystical agriculture mostly for now. the first creative item we selected was the guilty mana pool, which is feeding all other pools in this setup.

this is just a view from the mystical agriculture area. we are using charms and pedestals from Project E, as well as greenhouse glass to quickly grow and harvest the inferium essence, which is getting piped into autocrafters from extra utils to turn them into the higher tier essences. got stacks and stacks of insanium over night.

this is our tech area. not quite fleshed out just yet, but we've got the basics of processing for now, as well as some deep mob learning items to create mob drops. pretty neat. there's also a beastly capacitor bank that M made lol

underneath we have so far just two things - 1) a monstrosity of petrified fuel gens feeding coin miners using charcoal blocks from EMC link, and 2) a mob room for xp and loot crate collection.

a closer look at the mob room. we're using cursed earth and vector plates, along with the mob crusher. absorption hopper to pick up drops going into crate (junk getting piped into EMC link) and xp into the experience obelisk. originally had OB tanks in the floor but they filled up so fast it was worth the hassle to make the obelisk.

What do you guys think about this pack? Dungeons, Dragons and Space Shuttles It's kind of a big pack, but Dire has been posting a Let's Play on it and it looks great, lots of quests and stuff. Looks fun. Thoughts?

I'm not sure. I got lucky there were two close to each other. They are relatively easy to spot I think, as long as it's not night time, but you can get those night-vision goggles that are way better than vanilla night vision.

I'm getting an issue trying to launch the pack via twitch. It can't find the correct forge version and I don't know how to fix it. Google said to create a new profile with the correct version of forge and move the mod files over, which I did but still getting the same error.

"Failed to find Minecraft resource version 1.15.2-20200515.085601 at C:\Program Files (x86)\Minecraft Launcher\Install\libraries\net\minecraftforge\forge\1.15.2-31.2.36\forge-1.15.2-31.2.36-client.jar"

You need to delete your entire twitch folder and app, then reinstall.

Once you reinstall you need to first launch a vanilla version of 1.15.2 and then you'll be able to install the modpack.

I had this happen last night. Some update twitch pushed out borked the entire mod area of the twitch launcher.
This worked for me - thanks!

I think I found something - XP Tome is a mod that adds a book that you can store a limited amount of XP in it or something. Haven't tried it yet but I'm relieved to know there's at least an option.

The XP ore - you just "eat" it, and it gives you a level.

Found a blaze spawner in the nether and set up a warp for it, just type /warp blaze in the chat. It is safe.

MODDED MINECRAFT UPDATE:

Had to get rid of a troublesome mod (QuarryPlus, or rather, AdditionalEnchantedMiner :roll: ) so before you can connect next time, you'll have to disable this mod in your files.

Go to this folder, wherever it is on your computer: Twitch\Minecraft\Instances\All the Mods 5 - ATM5\mods
Find the mod listed above and type .disabled at the end of it so it looks like this:

AdditionalEnchantedMiner-1.15.2-15.3.3.jar.disabled

it looks like you have to "show filename extensions" before you change the name. when you're looking in the mods folder, click the "view" button at the top and check the box for view filename extensions. THEN change the name of the mod.

in the files you showed it doesn't appear to be disabled. looks like it might be named .jar.disabled.jar

overhead view - found this area using random tp. it has really turned out to be great. giant desert area with dark forest, oak forest, birch forest, plains, savannah, swamp, jungle and mesa biomes within a few chunks, along with a volcano, mountain biome for emeralds, a lava pit, an oil pit, a river, and access to the ocean for allthemodium ore also within a few chunks. ALSO an easily accessible ravine very close-by which made getting started very easy.

botania area - this is the first time i've actually "beaten" this mod. i made everything and beat every gaia guardian and obtained all the things. i'm proud of myself XD and i love some of the artifacts. there is an item that is an infinite food thing that fills half of the whole saturation bar, and fills up your food meter, and a ring that gives you 10 extra hearts of health, which is very useful in this modpack.

woot spawner (wither skeletons) - dav spent so much time make this thing and somehow got it to work so if you go this route ask him - he is now an expert lol

ridiculous enchanting area - can do enchants over 200 levels - the spellbinding cloth from botania is very useful here because of some pretty crappy enchants that end up on things, like life-mending. eat xp ore for levels!

old storage room i've turned into a parlor :P the desks and things are cute. i miss crayfish furniture but these are nice. unfortunately you can't open them or store anything in them, which seems dumb to me but watev
slime in a jar on the wall heh :giggle:

our main machine room (off the entryway). it has 2 sub-basements

sub-basement 1 where our power gen is. we're using mekanism to create fuel from carrots. super efficient and crazy amounts of power.

sub-basement 2 - basically the cloche room. cloches are amazing. they grow things SO FAST. power, water, and item routing handled by xnet. also the blocked off area where our first power gen originally was. just left it there

safe wither killing box in the mining dimension. works great. i used "wither-proof" blocks from mystical agriculture, which are NOT witherproof, but when i added a layer of obsidian on top of that it contains them perfectly.


my next project is gonna be playing with the resourceful/buzzier bees mods. looks fun and cute, so i'll post pics of that building when i finish it :]

Create Factory is coming along. Using an IF laser drill for the ores to process on this side.

Here is a closer look (screenie taken before I completed the building) - funnel pulling the ores from the chest and a fan to blow them onto the conveyor belt, which takes them to the crusher wheels. Right now they are just going into another chest, but the next step is to add the washing cycle on the crushed ore.

ATM7 modpack will be taking a little siesta for now
- too many crashes/issues at the moment. If/when ATM7 ever becomes more stable, we can update and reload the same world. Currently, nothing is "lost" - it just wont run properly.

In the meantime, we have set up

Just wanted to say this is still the current version on the server. There is a v5.0.0 on curseforge but it hasn't been uploaded yet because I've been super busy with work and other life things. I'm going out of town for the next 10 days but when I get back the plan is to start working on a 1.18.2 pack as a lot of mods went right to that version, skipping 1.18.1. I'll need to do a bit more research to see if maybe we want to wait until mods for 1.19 are more established, and maybe in the meantime we can launch a vanilla server running the latest snapshots.

Thoughts?

ScumPack 11 news:

I've started reviewing mods to include on a very basic level. Right now there are a couple of mods I'm waiting on to be updated, such as Botania, Tinker's, EnderIO. Depending on how updates are coming along, the pack will be either 1.19.1 or 1.19.2. I'm shooting to have it ready by winter break/Christmas break. Please feel free to send me suggestions of mods you've come across that you think would be interesting/fun. The idea for this one is probably going to be more exploration/combat focused - more dimensions to explore, mini-boss-like mobs that drop fun/enchanted loot, etc. as well as highly magic. Of course these packs are always "kitchen-sink" in general, so there will be the usual tech mods as they become available (Thermal series, Mekanism, etc).

Once I have a basic pack set up in CurseForge, we'll be putting up on GitHub for edits and testing, likely mid-November. :]
