I'm sorry, I can't not.

Town Non-Discrete Voter

You have an infinite number of votes, each with an infinitely small value. Each time you vote, you must indicate how you are dividing your vote, for instance:
VOTE: Ircher: 0.45
callforjudgement: 0.3
Something_Smart: 0.25

You may hammer any number of wagons with this ability.

I know what I would do with Felissan's role: I would wait until somebody else claims the post their role is from, and then shift so that they become the Caesar Cipher.

Once during the game, you may send in a list of any number of players. You will receive a report containing all their alignments (including wincon if it's not a common alignment), but not saying which belongs to which player.

Werewolf Traitor

If no Werewolves are rolled, becomes a Werewolf Goon.

@Gamma: that's the Epicmafia definition. Mafiascum doesn't have a role called oracle in common usage; what Infinity describes is an Amnesiac Cop.

Town Vengespotter

If you are lynched, you flip but are not given spoilers, and you may choose one player to "spot" the following night. If that player dies that night, you will revive and take on their role, alignment and wincon (replacing your town one), while their flip will be obscured to the town (though the town will be informed as to what happened).

Sore Loser

When you die by any means, you must immediately make a vengekill. You win if the player that you vengekilled loses. You may not win while alive.

Broken, culted players will just admit that they were culted and ask for a lynch on the cult leader so that they can go back to their old wincon.
He didn't say the got their old alignment back, just their role
(Not sure which one you actually meant, but this variant is interesting and also super-powerful for the cult.)

Town Dethymatic Cop/Seer/Conspiracy Theorist/Inquisitor

Each night, you may target up to four players, choosing at most one investigation to perform on each player. Your available investigations are: Cop (Mafia/Not Mafia), Seer (Werewolf/Not Werewolf), Conspiracy Theorist (Alien/Not Alien), and Inquisitor (Cult/Not Cult), and you may use each investigation every night. Of your four investigations, one is Sane (correct results), one is Insane (incorrect results), one is Paranoid (all guilty results), and one is Naive (all innocent results). Which investigation has which sanity is determined randomly by the moderator and is not known to you, nor is it revealed upon your flip.

Dat Boi

You know the composition of the strongest scumteam with a factional kill (strongest defined first by greatest number of members; if tied then by fewest number of goons; if tied again then choose randomly). For instance:
Roleblocker
1-shot Tracker
Goon
[replace these with the real roles of the selected scumteam]

Each night, you may send the mod a message containing "dat" plus any role name (for instance, "dat encryptor"). If a player with the role name you indicated exists on the selected scumteam, and if any member of the scumteam other than the one you designated attempts the factional kill for that faction, it will fail. This ability does not affect any other factions or night actions.

You win with the town.
------------
For the Dethymatic Cop/Seer/Conspiracy Theorist/Inquisitor, you know which result corresponds to which investigation, but you don't know which is sane, which is insane, which is naive, and which is paranoid.
For instance, if you send in the following action:
Cop: Smeagol
Seer: Infinity 324
Conspiracy Theorist: Something_Smart
Inquisitor: Lycanfire

You might get the following result:
Smeagol is not a Mafia member.
Infinity 324 is a Werewolf.
Something_Smart is not an Alien.
Lycanfire is not a Cult member.

But you wouldn't know which result was which.

Scum 1-shot Commuter

After all roles in the setup have been rolled, the mod randomly chooses an anti-town faction already existing in the game; you are part of that faction.

-----------

@Infinity:
Sorry, that wasn't clear. The mod determines the strongest scumteam pregame; his action is only effective on that faction.

Cop Town Vanilla

Is a member of the Cop Town, that is, the players who have "Cop" anywhere in their role name. Wins (and leaves the game, if still alive), if at any point, members of the Cop Town total at least 50% of all living players. (This does not affect the win conditions of any other members of the Cop Town; they just happen to be instrumental to your win condition.)

^That would work better as a Naive Cop, because then you wouldn't be trying to lynch your recruits (and you'd actually have a reason to work with them).

Scum Recruitable Traitor Bodyguard

Traitor for the groupscum faction with the fewest members (at least one, but if tied, random). The scum faction is informed of the traitor's existence and that they can be recruited, but not of the traitor's role. Each night, you may guard one player. If that player is killed, you die instead. If you are killed by the faction you are traitor to, or if you protect somebody from such a kill, you will join the main faction rather than dying, gaining access to the chat and any factional powers. You will retain your Bodyguard ability if this happens.

Werewolf Shapeshifter

Each night, you are given three randomly rolled roles from this thread. You may choose one of them and effectively become that role for that night (you may use its action, and you appear as it does to investigations). If you choose none, you have no abilities and investigate as a Werewolf Shapeshifter.

You have the following abilities: Tracker, Doctor, Rolecop. Each day, you may choose a master for the following night, but the same person cannot be chosen more than once during a game. You gain a private topic with your master for that night, and your master chooses which ability you use and what the target is (though investigative results go to you, not them).

Reroll, but switch alignment

If scum with a factional kill (groupscum or SK), becomes town.
If town, joins a random groupscum team after the full setup has been rolled.
If third party, no change.
If a role's ability is faction-specific, change it to reflect its new faction (i.e. a Friendly Neighbor would inform other players that it is not town, a Weak role would die upon visiting a player not of its new faction). If this is impossible, the ability is forfeited.

Screwed Townie

You cannot be confirmed town. If any investigative action is used on you that could confirm you as town, it will fail. If any other action is used on you that could confirm you as town, it will resolve as though a scum player had been targeted, depending on the nature of the action.

For instance: cop will return no result, tracker will return no result if and only if each remaining scumteam has only 1 player, jailkeeper will block one random scum kill if and only if each scumteam has only 1 player, hider will die.
If that's too confusing for the mod or the setup, change to Ascetic Townie

Unless the vote's lack of weight is not reflected in the votecount. (In that case, the VC would appear to be normal but if a hammer on scum were reached there'd be a 50% chance they just wouldn't be lynched, as if they were loved).

Town Vanilla Cop/Disloyal Vanillaizer

Each night, you may target a player. You will learn if they are vanilla. After your investigation resolves, if your target is not in the same faction as you, their role will be changed to Vanilla (leaving alignment unchanged).

Agent Sparkles' Worst Nightmare

50/50 chance of town or joining a random pre-existing groupscum faction. Once during the game, at night, you may vanillaize every player in the game. All players affected by this will revert to their previous role at the end of the following night, although they are not told this.

Town Timelord

Before each Day (including Day 1), you may send the moderator a number, and the following Day/Night cycle will be given that number. This cannot be blocked, although if you don't it will default to the number after the previous Day (even if it has already been used), or 1 if it is the first Day. It must be an integer, and it cannot be negative (though it can be 0). You cannot choose the number of a Day that has already taken place.

If a second Timelord is rolled in a setup, reroll it (so each setup can only have one).

Town Loyal Modified Weak Doctor

You may protect one player each night. Your protection fails on any non-town players. If your target is town and is considered to have a gun (cop, vig, rolecop, vanilla cop, gunsmith), you will die.

You are town. If Something_Smart is in the game and it is MYLO or LYLO, you are informed as such, and you must vote him in your first post and not unvote or change your vote for the rest of the Day.

Town Backscatterer

Each night, you may target a player. Any active personal abilities they have and are still able to use (even if they use the last shot the night you target them) will be lost (and they will be informed of this). However, they will be forced to use a copy of each lost ability on every other player in the game.

For instance, if you target a Doctor, they will become Vanilla but protect every other player that night. If you target a Vigilante, they will become Vanilla and kill every other player. If you target a Tracker, they will become Vanilla and get an unordered list of every target of an action that night. If you target a 1-shot Bulletproof or a Mafia Goon, nothing will happen because they have no active personal abilities.

Note: if this role is rolled directly, roll a 50% chance to add an Internal Redirector (see next post), with alignment randomized between town and all groupscum factions rolled so far.

Each night, you may target a player. If any actions are used on that player, you gain a 1-shot ability of one of them at random. This includes a factional kill but ONLY if it is made with a Ninja modifier; so if you target a factional kill being made by a Ninja you will gain a 1-shot vigilante (but if the kill isn't made by a Ninja then you can't, though you could gain a different ability). Additionally, you cannot gain a Watcher shot.

Town Conditional Bulletproof 1-shot Cop

Once during the game, you may investigate a player to determine whether or not they are aligned with the Town.

Pregame, you may choose ONE of the following:
  • The first time you are attacked, if you have not yet used your investigation, you will survive.
    OR
  • If you are attacked the night you use your investigation, you will survive.

Reroll, but Inventor

If the role you reroll to has an active or passive ability, it does not apply to you, but you may instead visit another player each night to give them a one-shot use of that ability, and they will be informed of this. Alignment and any abilities that make no sense as one-shot (neighbor or innocent child for instance) remain unchanged.
If the role is limited in any way (i.e. 2-shot cop), then your invention ability will be limited in the same way (2-shot cop inventor).

Contract Killer

Each day until you have a target, you may choose a non-town faction to contract to. If that faction is a group faction with daytalk, the whole faction will be alerted, otherwise a random member is alerted. The alert happens during the day, as soon as the action is resolved. (If you choose a faction that does not win together, i.e. SK, one SK at random will be alerted.) The alerted player or faction will know that they were chosen by a Contract Killer, but they will not know who it is, and they can either accept or decline the contract. If they accept, they choose any player whose name is sent back to you, and that player becomes your target. Your target may be yourself. If they decline or if no players of that faction are alive, you are informed of this and you may choose another faction the following day.

Each night that you have a target, you may use one of the following actions:
Commute, causing all actions targeting you to fail.
Force your target to commute, causing all actions they take and all actions targeting them to fail.
Hatedize your target, causing them to require one less vote to be lynched. This is not announced in the votecount, and it stacks.

You win if your target is lynched, even after you are dead. If your target dies by any other means while you are alive, you will exit the game in a loss.

Town Rescuer

After the setup is rolled, one random non-town role on a team by itself has its alignment changed to town. (If there are none, nothing happens.) You are not informed of who had this role or what role it was, and they are not informed that their role was changed (only the final town result). Any abilities that are contradictory are dropped, and all others are kept.
You have no abilities.

Town Forensic Scientist

Each night, you may target a player who died during a previous night. You will learn that player's true role and alignment, if the flip was tampered with, as well as who they visited the night they died and any messages they would have received (result PM's, neighborizer/friendly neighbor notifications, etc) the night they died.
It's always the same. When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn. How many hearts will be broken. How many lives shattered. How much blood will spill, until everybody does what they're always going to have to do from the very beginning... SIT DOWN AND TALK!

Paranoid Vigilante

Each night, you may kill a player.

You're just trying to eliminate the bad guys. But you have this horrible feeling that everyone is out to get you...

You win when everyone who is a threat to you is eliminated. That might be just anti-town players, or it might be everybody else.

Mod notes: This is a regular Town Vigilante, who wins with the town.

As long as explicitly anti-town players
other than this one
make up less than half the living players (aside from this player), this player is bulletproof.
As long as at least one explicitly anti-town player
other than this one
is alive, this player is lynchproof. (Attempts to lynch them will cause the day to end with no lynch.)
At the start of the game, every player other than this one is privately informed that this role is in the game, and is informed of its abilities either by linking to this post or quoting the mod note.

Mafia One-Shot Mutator

Once during the game, you may target a player and pick any Normal role with some kind of power. (Vanilla, backup, enabler, miller are all disallowed. Night specific is only allowed for one of the two nights following the use of this action.) That player's role will change to your selected role. Any actions they take this night will resolve normally.
You may attempt to target any player with any role, but if you end up targeting a player with a role that is incompatible with their alignment, your action will fail and your shot will be refunded.

The Gamma Emerald

Reroll to determine role and alignment. In addition to whatever role is received, you are in possession of a rare and mysterious gemstone known as the Gamma Emerald.

Each night, you may choose to give the Emerald away to another player. Unless that player dies, they will obtain the Gamma Emerald at the end of the night. (If they die, you will keep it, but if you die, they will still get it. If you both die, or if you die on a night you choose not to give it away, it will be lost forever.) When you give the Gamma Emerald to a player, you may optionally specify Positive or Negative; that player is guaranteed to receive an effect of the specified type that night, should you succeed in giving them the Gamma Emerald. (Otherwise, what effect they receive is completely random, as usual.) They will learn the Gamma Emerald's effect and will be able to keep it or give it away on future nights. A player may give the Gamma Emerald away and perform a personal action in the same night.

Due to its powerful radiation, any player who possesses the Gamma Emerald at the end of the night will gain one random ability or effect from this list:

Positive:
Loved (+1 vote to lynch, does not show up on votecounts, does not go away in LYLO)
1-Shot Day Neighborizer
Extra vote (shows up on votecounts; if you are voteless, you get your vote back)
Strong-willed (your actions cannot be blocked, redirected or interfered with in any way)

Negative:
Hated (-1 vote to lynch, does not show up on votecounts, does not go away in LYLO)
Loyal OR Disloyal (one of these is randomly selected; you are only informed that you were made loyal/disloyal and NOT which of the two it was. If a player obtains both loyal and disloyal, their actions will always fail.)
Delayed (your personal actions, including giving away the Gamma Emerald, do not resolve until one night after they normally would)
Loss of a vote (if you have one vote, you become voteless. If you are already voteless, no effect.)

All effects stack. The same effect can be given multiple times, to the same player or to different players. Players learn which effects they have received (except in the case of loyal/disloyal, in which case they only learn that they were made loyal or disloyal).

Apprentice

Once during the game, you may neighborize a player. This action cannot be blocked or redirected by any means. The player you have neighborized is not informed of the nature of the neighborhood, but you win if this person wins. If that becomes impossible or if you die before you can neighborize anyone, you exit the game in a loss.

Once during the game, you may neighborize a player. This action cannot be blocked or redirected by any means. The player you have neighborized is not informed of the nature of the neighborhood, but you win if this person loses. If it becomes impossible for them to win, you exit the game in a win. If you die before you can neighborize anyone, you exit the game in a loss.

Town 8-ball (less broken)

Reroll until you get another town role. This player is that role and receives that role PM, but secretly is an 8-ball in addition to that. It's publicly revealed that there's an 8-ball, and all anti-town players know who it is. The game is nightless while the 8-ball is alive.

Town Toto

It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you-
Once during the game, you may target a player. This action cannot be blocked or redirected by any means.

There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do-
All actions targeting your target that night, and all future nights, will fail.

I bless the rains down in Africa-
If your target would be lynched on any day, the day will instead end with no lynch.

Gonna take some time to do the things we never had-
If a day ends with you not voting any player (this includes if you are dead), then the above effects end.

Town Dragon Fruit Vendor

You may give a Dragon Fruit to a player each night. They may consume it a following night, which will make them a hated doublevoter for the following day. Neither of these conditions will be publicly shown in the votecount, and they will also not go away if it's LYLO or MYLO. The recipient will be told they "received a dragonfruit."

Mafia Dragon Fruit Vendor

You may give a Dragon Fruit to a player each night. They may consume it a following night. Any actions they take during the night they consume it will be Weak (causing the player to die if the action successfully resolves on any non-town player). The recipient will be told they "received a dragonfruit."

Town Binary Enabler

While you are alive, days and nights will be counted in binary (1, 10, 11, 100...) instead of base 10. If you die, the current phase number is re-interpreted as base 10 (for instance, if you are lynched on Day 3 which is called Day 11, the next day will be Day 12).

It's always the same. When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, you have no idea who's going to die. You don't know whose children are going to scream and burn. At the beginning of the game, the mod chooses a random role in the setup other than this one. At the end of Night 2, you will learn of that role's existence and alignment, but not who has it.

At the instant this role is rolled, using either random.org timestamp or the timestamp of the post including the dice tags (go to Control Panel -> Board Preferences -> Edit global settings -> My date format -> Custom -> Enter "D M d, Y g:i:s a" to see seconds), the mod determines exactly how many seconds have elapsed in that real-life day, using their own timezone, unless the mod does not want to share their timezone in which case they must use UTC. Take the number of seconds determined this way, calculate it modulo [the number of posts in the Grand Idea thread], and use that post number in this thread.

You receive your role PM 24 hours before everyone else and you have that time to select someone to join the Alien faction. That player's role will remain the same but their alignment will be changed to Alien.

The player who gets this role may post any role they like in this thread before the game starts. If they do, they are a

(if they die at night, the next night is skipped). If they don't, they are a VT.
