Also, yes the AI is weird and stuff but I like games to be a bit accessible and reproducible, so like Elbirn said I'll provide saves but usually I don't like/can't justify playing with content mods because A: ya boi wants the Steam achievements, and B: I just feel like I still haven't experienced everything Vanilla has to offer, ya know? I feel the same way about Skyrim mods, damn that game is STILL so fun
I have no idea what half of what you guys are talking about. I only ever make builders/settlers/scouts/turn1-era-light-infsntry-unit-things. All of my production otherwise goes into building e er building. This game I ran out of buildings (as korea) so I've built like 5 wonders. Im allied with everyone and have 10x more diplo points than anyone else. And i just stay 8th in dom victory for forever
WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH A MILLION BARBARIANS! Like, they just KEEP COMING OUT OF NOWHERE. again, and again, and again. I have *NEVER* invested this much production into military units, in any age or era, as I have in the Ancient Era of this game, trying to get the barbarian infestation under control!
is one level fo difficulty lower than prince really *that* much difference in barbarians? I'm literally spending one whole city's production (my highest prod city at that), continuously spitting out troops. I'm even into a gold negative per a turn now. This is insane. And I feel like I'm just now *barely* catching up with keeping the barbarians out from between two of my cities even, let alone out of my general civilization's area surrounded by natural borders

@Maruchan: Turning off Domination Victory doesn't prevent the other person from declaring war and essentially wiping you out, maybe leaving you with like, 1 city, and then switching entirely to a new wincon. They'll have such a huge advantage the game is over even without Domination.
Yes but it gives people less incentive to focus on dominating another civ. Especially with a turn limit. If they dedicate a hundred turns' production towards military and dominating you, that's a hundred turns' production not focused on other victories. Means they might run into the turn limit

Unfortunately the AI doesnt think like that, and a military is always a good move. You can often grow faster by conquering developed cities rather than settling your own, especially if you forsake military for settlers and then someone else who did the reverse just conquers you. It's at least worth a military for defense, and it never takes 100 turns to develop one. Just go for like 3 archers and a few warriors early game, and position them well
Until this game where I am making military to combat insane amounts of barbarians I have never had an issue with AI. They always friend/ally me so I never worry about then attacking me. And I usually lead in 3 if the 4 other victory paths. I've also yet to take over another city in CIV6
