I think my words and thoughts on the gamestate have less and less value the more I post until this gamephase ends.

I'm still going to voice reads, ISO assessments, replies, and pairings I think are good

; but I've said mostly what I've wanted to say in terms of the gamestate and my weighted opinions are just another noise for people who need to make their own decisions in the game.

I'm definitely going to be attentive for the remaining 3 1/2 days until deadline, yet less present unless requested.

I'm still of the belief that having all 8 pairs are optimal as it's most practical to ensure more town alive.

I actually am reading her recent posting as wanting to sabotage the Moment slot since he's starting to look like a potential threat if he gets a town enough partner. I think scum are reaching a position where they have to be a lot more bold about lessening the possibility as much as they can.

I had a strong hardgut townread on Taly in SC 2 and as you know, town still mislynched him. I also could tell Creature was town but no one listened to me. Tbf, my gutread on Brie here is weaker than it was for Taly in that game but I also got Kokichi right too. I couldn’t see deepwolf Alchemist, though.

I'm pretty sure I've talked about everything about this setup that wasn't already covered. The amount of setup spec required varies depending on the game.

And maybe stop playing guessing games and saying that every fos that comes your way is bias over being a replacement.

Well, only a few people had cited a reason, so it's a pretty reasonable assumption, or at the very least it's a starting suggestion which people could refute by giving other reasons why they scumread my slot. Not many people actually did that.

It seems like you've spent this game more being indignant over being scumread than in sorting, although it's possible your indignation and omgusing just sticks in my memory better

Out of 100+ posts I have maybe five where I'm asking why I'm being scumread, I think I have a right to that especially since the answers were not very forthcoming.

I just wrote and deleted like two paragraphs on Gamma lol. I feel like I'm not sure, but my gut is telling me I should maybe be defending her as town more here... idk weird feelings over all. I don't think my case earlier was very convincing but I disagree that shading Worm/Moment was wolfy. My reasons for townreading Gamma probably aren't very convincing to anyone that isn't me, and I'm not even sure myself.

this is also like the 11th time I felt like Dann was turning on someone shortly after other people had started to push on the slot and it's one reason I liked Pvt airing his skepticism of that slot. I still lean town on Dann but if there is a deepwolf he is the slot I am most worried about. I think Dann's posts bug me a lot at times and I think Pvt is pretty likely town to get pinged by his posts, even if he's possibly wrong.

And I told myself I was going to not go heavy today, idk, I see shit and I have thoughts and I want to write them. I should just like log out or something. There's a book I *need* to read today and it's so much easier to focus on 'reads' in mafia than to actually pick it up 0.o

Let's even assume for now that both SS/THeBrie are flipped town, so lets not make this about my read on TheBrie even.
In the remaining gentlemen pool, we have Allomancer, DT, Pvturist.
None of these gentlemen are endgame gentlemen unless they really town up the slots that they are present in.

So regardless of whether you keep SS or TheBrie alive, the other is dying before endgame because their gentleman is going to be inherently less trustworthy than other pairings that already exist

So preventing thebrie from being mislynched is a misnomer: regardless of who you don't accept, that pairing is going to end up removed from play.

Thoughts on Moment? I'm not feeling strongly about Gamma either way, early-game I had a townread there, but that's faded.

To be honest when I was doing the "who are the gents left in the game list" earlier Moment was the name I had to go back and remind myself of. I have almost no thoughts on him. I thought he was townie briefly when he got angry at me for posting a lot but I've since second-guessed that, leaving him quite null. Doesn't give me a strong reason to second-guess the people townreading him though and I have no problem with pairing him with someone like Gamma that I see as lynchbaity town, but I don't really have a need to pick a fight there with RC and I don't see a need to force Moment into that pairing if he doesn't want it. I more want to see what he actually chooses to do and not over-analyze his slot until he does more AI stuff.

so, pretty remote risk, leaving the remaining unpaired is actually one way to skip dance 1, which is, arguably, strictly protown

The main people who would be unhappy with that would be moment/thebrie/drworm probably, given it means guaranteeing we will be playing an 18 day game

tbh it wasn't a very good reason and I was secondguessing it around Friday night but at that point there was some other stuff going on in terms of how I felt about this game and then Taly accepted on Saturday. RC had near-lock townreads on Moment/Brie and Dann/Nancy, and the plan was simply to kill everyone except them. The problem was that RC's reads couldn't have been trusted to be 100% genuine while he was alive, so he needed to die for it to work.

I was trying to show what pair I would be confident in lynching and what pair id rather walk out than have lynch (when L1 is close For tells).

But my concern during the night is that RC had you as town and I think I should give more credit to that read as I don't have the meta with you personally.
With RC confirmed it does alter my judgement but these were my views before day 2 started

Well I felt you were buddying up to me earlier in the game. I also thought your posts of reads or information were forced.
Dann spent all game agreeing with the louder players, pushing the quieter or more targeted players and looked to try and hide under the radar.

You should worry less to why I have/had (I'm not sure yet) you as Scum and why I should read someone else as Scum.

No, I actually wouldn’t say that but I can’t elaborate on why rn. In that game, she obvtown’d it. While I’m not seeing blatant Gamma scumtells like I’ve already mentioned, I wouldn’t say I obvtown read here in this game. I find some of her reads perplexing and that concerns me a bit.

I think it doesn't make sense, yes. Even if there's one scum is Dann/Nancy/Moment/Brie, lynching all the other pairs won't win scum the game; those two pairs will still get a chance to figure it out. Furthermore, there's no guarantee that people will respect RC's reads after he's dead.

Killing the town pair in those two seems stronger from that position. That way, RC will be alive and actively defending the other one, and he'll push to have them endgame, since he said multiple times he expected to be paranoia lynched. The only way this would be worse is if I'd think it would be absolutely impossible to paranoia lynch RC, which wouldn't make any sense with the way I've been playing.

I don't follow this. RC/Ank were a widely town read pair too, what makes it less likely RC/Ank + end game pair wouldn't be able to figure out who the potential final scum is over Dann/Nancy/Moment/Brie? In fact, that situation seems even more dangerous just because RC is there.

I have to double check this, but wasn't RC expressing last minute doubts about Brie, however?

It reads to me like clashing townies who just have different ways of approaching the game and don't necessarily have similar reads. It's best if you try to understand how/why Vedith is getting to his positions and reads (vice versa too), instead of arguing over methods.

I have PvT and Taly in the same spot, I just think Taly is just trying to play and get under my skin.

You have moved up more in my books from RCs read and from what Fire said in the PT.

Moment doesn't appeal to me as town at all and given that I think Brie has a high chance of Scum, I'd probably suggest lynching here sooner than later.

The only names I would move higher or lower by 2 Tier+ is Dann/PB/Fire and obviously Worm to null.

Other than that all the reads are within 1 Tier of what I think.
Gamma is also high town for me right now.

I think that everyone should try their best to give a comprehensive read on their partner, except obviously for Gamma. This is the point of our PTs afterall, to help us sort our partners.

I’ll start. I really like Dann’s posts in our PT. I think he is actively engaging with me and making nuanced reads. He also seem clearly shook by the flips, especially Urist as IC, so I feel pretty confident on Dann town.

what plan were you talking about with RC that showed he had a way to win this game and why did it revolve around him and Ank's death?

RC had near-lock townreads on Moment/Brie and Dann/Nancy, and the plan was simply to kill everyone except them. The problem was that RC's reads couldn't have been trusted to be 100% genuine while he was alive, so he needed to die for it to work.

Don't leave me amoment until the end. He's barely active, I'm swamped by real life, and my skills at reading are terrible.

I townread Moment early on, maily because I liked his clear post style, it dipped a little in the middle, especially as he never really was answering my questions (I asked him about Allomancer among over things), then in the end i decided to go for nice and uncomplicated, and town read, and accepted his offer. While interestingly my read on Allo was kinda opposite. Started out thinking he was scum, slowly grew to think maybe he was town, but when it really came down to choosing, I went and doubted again.

Current read on Moment: Basically I'm annoyed at him, because he's not said a thing. He said "Ego" in out PT, then disappeared, not giving me a chance to read him. I don't know what he really thinks about things, and he doesn't seem to care about the game enough. He might be busy, but since I had shred a few thoughts, he could have at least commented on them.

What I said then was that I townread SS, and also DT, but not as much.
From my limited experience with Nancy, I think she town here. And Taly's argument for why she wouldn't have ICed Pvt makes sense, and on top of other bits of towniness, iI want her to stick around.

I'll have to have a closer look at Gamma. I know she can be mislynched, sometimes with little scum involvement, but I've not actually put the work into looking at her meta. (Honestly, i can't remember when I looked at meta without someone linking a game first. I've gotten lazy.)

Yeah I thought that too, but I think it's because I accepted his dance proposal only when people started saying they were townreading him, which it's true, but it was a coincidence since I was waiting to see if I could pair with Dann and when we decided that it was the best for town to pair Dann with you, I accepted the proposal. It had nothing to do with people calling Worm town, as I stated really early that I was tempted to accept and not tryhard this game as I would've done with Dann. 'cause pairing with Worm was, at the end of the day, making myself a liability

Because it’s a lot easier to be correctly sorted in a PT, than the main thread but what gets discussed in there, can make all the difference.

We have less than 8 days to solve this game - 7 now? - and not posting in the main thread doesn’t give me a lot of confidence on either any absent or non-engaging slot.

I’m just glad we got the whole coin mechanic out of the way, so at least that’s good. :/

If moment is scum, it’s highly unlikely that Brie would be as as well and vice-versa. They paired up relatively early, so you’d be likely wrong on at least one of them.

Don't you think Moment would have avoided asking me if we were scum partners? The choice he was making was between me and SS, and i think we would have orchestrated things better if we'd been partners.

Leaning towards scum on Moment, but he's not giving me anything to read. Conflicted on Pink Ball.

I went and did meta on Gamma. Her game is quite similar as town and scum, as town she's got more questions that force others to get involved and are really challenging, as a little less "Explain this" and sort of mechanical stuff, or comments on how people are playing. But it's close, and I can't tell which side this falls on. Maybe a tiny bit towards the scum side, but not enough to say anything solid. It's not outside her town range.

I originally gave DT a town read in #3418, which reading back, I believe are pretty weak reasons. The posts I outline in DT's ISO that I think are representative of towny thought processes... aren't that impressive? I may have too hastily lumped DT into my sudden strong PvT town read just due to DT's explanation in #3216 where he lowkey supported a PvT town. I'm not sure if that's something scum wouldn't point out that. The same goes for his other "towny" talking points.

#1265Gets referenced a lot when explaining town reads on the DT slot... and I don't get it? It's a bunch of gut/tone reads and then justification for not having to explain those.

i also partly dont like explaining every single small things that come to my mind because

1) chances are they are wrong
2) chances are my own opinion of them change later on
3) they clog up the thread unnecessarily we honestly don't need every single detail of thoughts that I have

This actually pings me quite a bit. Sure, you can be like "scum would never wanna be this brazen and admit this," but I don't think that's a strong enough argument.

1) Town shouldn't care about being wrong. Rather, they shouldn't care about that potential making them look suspicious. Scum care if they're caught being wrong and the associatives look bad for them.
2) Opinion changes are natural and one of the hardest things in the game for scum to fake with authenticity.
3) Sure... But there's a difference between clogging up the thread unnecessarily with every single detail and just saying "x is town" and "x is scum" off of pure gut and tone reads.

My problem with DT is that the things people point to when they say he looks towny are fairly lazy and not proactive. His entire ISO is waiting for people to come to him and interact with him. Very rarely does he take the initiative in pressuring people and it doesn't look like he's trying to proactively solve the game. There's a lot of "engage with me," but not a lot of engaging that's actually solving.

Stuff like this also makes me doubt the strength of town reads on him. I think people tend to like him for how genuine his reads seem, but their surface level enough that I don't see why it couldn't just as easily be faked by scum.

This pings me. Specifically because it's so noncommittal. RC and Ank were obv!town because it was blatantly obvious they both believed the other was scum and was willing to leave the dance to take the other one out. Here, DT suggests he might just stay out of the pre-dance since he scum reads both Gamma and SS. Hey! That might actually be good for town and it's obviously a town motivated thing to do. Except he's never gonna actually do this, so what's the point in saying this?

I just don't like the progression from "maybe I should just sit out" to looking for reasons to town read one of SS or Gamma. This is the kind of desperation I don't like. I don't think it's genuine trying to figure out who among the last ladies is scummier or townies, it's just looking for reasons to town read one of them so he can look fine going to the dance with them.

I'm also concerned that DT isn't actually pushing anyone. Like SS/DT is probably gonna be the first or second lynch and yet... His big most recent wall post is just defending himself from Krazy's meta case. He isn't offering up alternatives, and idk what his scum reads even are atm. Gamma?

I think you're pretty strongly town. What is your read on DT? Also, I know you're struggling because your scum reads are all strongly town read by someone. But who is your first lynch ideally if you had complete control? Me and Nancy? What if we both flipped town?

I really really don't think we should be lynching Moment/Brie first. I have Brie as pretty strongly town (something I should probably elaborate on when I have mroe sleep tomorrow) and while I don't have a good read on Moment, I really think the amount RC + Ank pushed for Moment!town + the fact Moment hasn't even posted yet means lynching there is a terrible idea. Obviously, inactivity is harmful either way, but we might be fucking up a really strong T/T pairing as Ank and RC thought without even letting Moment get her thoughts in. I feel like maybe scum saw Moment/Brie as a threat pre-dance and are now trying to quickly dispatch of them.

There's also the fact that the reads there feel... Pretty lackluster?

Tbf to Brie, I make a lot of these kinds of mistakes in nearly every game I’ve ever played in. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve been told, “Sorry Nancy, derp clear, denied.”.

What I was trying to get across to Dann in our PT, which it looks like he completely misconstrued, is I was saying that while a lot of her posts seem really townie to me, I have a low key paranoia about her, because she has also been able to do this in some recent scumgames of hers I ISO’d but but what you’ve quoted here isn’t part of that. Yes, Dann, I forgot to mention that part, which is my bad, which was definitely a part of it.

I ISO’d both of Pink Ball’s scumgames and he seems very different here than in rapper game but when I was about to meta townclear him for that, I decided to check out his first scumgame and that one isn’t all that different from his towngames: being jokey, making thoughtful reads etc. Usually, when you ISO someone’s scumgames, you find the exact opposite situation.

Like with Brie for example, Brie was obvscum in a very early game of hers but her later scumgames more closely resemble her towngames. So hence, my paranoia on her. I know the clock is ticking but I also don’t want to mislynch, which is why I haven’t voted yet. Rn, I’m leaning DT.
