VOTING

1. All votes and unvotes must be in

thing to do, per se. it's certainly something that happens in regular games, so in that sense it is simply an introduction to a tactic used elsewhere. on the other hand, however, i can definitely see how it might leave someone feeling tricked or lied to by people they're meant to be able to trust, even if for their own benefit (in terms of getting townread).

the most common in newbie games for a reason, as it's very easy for someone to not know something like that the scumteam has daytalk and thus get townread off of it. i'm not sure this is necessarily a bad thing, but i also don't think it's something that should be taken advantage of.

i guess my conclusion here is "if something like this happens naturally then it's fine but as a principle i think it's probably bad to take advantage of a newbie's lack of knowledge in a way that may leave them feeling cheated or betrayed". in this case i think it was less so a lack of knowledge and more a simple reaction test, but it definitely is something i think people should keep in mind.
