Self-voting in itself isn't scummy in the random voting stage (actually it's a nulltell IMO no matter where it takes place but that's another post for another game). What is scummy is calling someone out on it, and then putting them at L-2.

i would. there's nothing wrong with lynch-2 itself, there is something wrong with cursing and hollering about a self-vote like we shouldn't consider lynching anybody else.

Plus the fact it was a random vote. Would you try to wagon UltimaAvalon or Lloyd right off the bat too? If she always self-votes in random voting then self-voting is NOT a scumtell in anyway here.

No it means someone simul-posted him. He's not really using it correctly though. It's supposed to be used to mean that someone not only simul-posted him WITH the same content he had and their post came up first.

While I also think that self-voting is dubious at best, there are other, more reliable ways to single out scum.

Man this quesiton is dumb. Okay, pick any of these:

1) It enables one to avoid offending ANYONE with their vote. Even a random vote of another player sometimes draws a "huh. why that person?" to which a response, albeit a small one sometimes, is necessary.

People are rarely offended by random votes anyway. Day leaves random voting stage once a misunderstanding of some sort occurs (like you thinking self-voting is scummy)

2) It's lazy as hell, and shows that one has no interest in making any effort at all to draw out responses from other players. It's an attempt to look cavalier and unafraid, but really looks the opposite.

You know what else fits this definition? A post with nothing but a vote in it. Guess who did that?

3) It insulates one from being near lynch. For example, you jumped on me for putting natirasha at lynch -2. However, ONE OF THOSE VOTES WAS HIS OWN!! So essentially it would still take THREE more votes to kill him (after he moved his own vote away) but everyone was scared to put a vote on him lest he be at lynch -1. A player voting her/himself is basically playing with an extra card, and can dump one of her/his votes whenever s/he wants.

Some people jumped at you for making an L-2 this early, but they were wrong as L-2 this early is not bad and doesn't really mean all that much. The REAL argument against you is the crap case you used to rationalize your vote. So this reason doesn't fit the circumstance at all.

- Alab put a random vote on my on the first RL day, and hasn't moved it since. The closest he's gotten in any way to even half-way accusing anyone else was an FOS on DBE... AFTER rofl had already done the same. I was also put off by post 102. It's the kind of "analysis" post that's safe for scum, as it doesn't cast much of a net and does more to defend other players (Nat) than expand his curiosity of the game.

Save his vote on pod, there hasn't been anything different between us, yet I'm very scum and he's town? Just confirms the OMGUS with me. This analysis seems like you're trying really hard to make yourself look objective by calling someone voting you town.

The vote was for continued lack of contribution, therefore I think my vote would have had no reason to stay on Lowell after his analysis of everyone, since I would call that contribution.
