Alien Jack-of-all-Trades (Godfatherizer, Parity Cop, Soultrapper)


You possess the following 1-shot abilities that you may use once at a time:

Godfatherizer - You may target a player. Your target will show up as Innocent to all investigations for the rest of the game.
Parity Cop - You may target two players. You will learn whether the two players share alignments or not.
Soultrapper (idk what to call this) - You may target a player. That player will flip and be counted as dead for all purposes except for being allowed to communicate in PTs. A soultrapped player will be added to a soul gem PT where a number of random players equal to half the elimination threshold (rounding up) will be added to the soul gem PT as well.

If it is possible for Town to be endgamed or wiped out by the end of next Night assuming the elimination and all kills (except those from Last Hope roles) successfully hit Town, you will be notified of this and are allowed to post

If you are eliminated, the person who cast the deciding vote is frozen. The frozen player will be announced to be frozen and will count as dead for all purposes the next Night and the entire cycle after that, but will not flip.

During Night 1, you may target a player to freeze. The frozen player will be announced to be frozen and will count as dead for all purposes the next Day and Night, but will not flip.

During Night 3, you may target a player to kill with fire, as if you were an Arsonist priming then immediately igniting your target.

Town Action Follower


You may target a player each night to learn exactly what action they took.

This is usually the name of the unmodified role the action came from. A factional kill will usually be seen as "{alignment} factional kill".

This is not the Normal Follower which e.g. sees a 1-shot Doctor's action as protective while this role sees it as Doctor.

Alien De-bastardizer


Each night, you may target a player.

If the player has a role that can cause the mod to lie or otherwise be dishonest, change someone's alignment mid-game, allow players to discuss the game outside the game thread or its PTs, add players midgame, or enable direct moderator influence; their role will be changed to the nearest non-bastard equivalent. (Vanillize the role if this is not reasonable.)

Any information about the player's role that is hidden from them is revealed to them.

The player loses any post restrictions they currently have.

If the player is Cult-aligned, their alignment will be changed to Town. (Yes, this makes the De-bastardizer a bastard role.)

For example, targeting a Death Miller turns them into a Miller, targeting a Cult Leader turns them into a VT, targeting an Insane Cop causes them to know they're insane, targeting a Mafia Innocent Child turns them into a Mafia Goon, and targeting a Dreaming God causes them to know what their abilities do.

Town Strong-Willed Dreaming God


Each night, you must choose one of these abilities to use. This action can't be blocked, redirected or interfered with in any way:

Connections
Dreams
Flavor
Knowledge
Lockout
Pressure
Stasis
Vision

You may choose each ability only once, and will not know what the ability does until you use it.

Mod Notes: The Strong-Willed Dreaming God's abilities are (feel free to randomize each ability from all Strong-Willed Dreaming God abilities of the same name if you want, this applies to other iterations of the Dreaming God as well):

Connections - Half of the living players rounded up will be added to a PT with daytalk for the next Day and Night.
Dreams - The moderator will post "I'm dreaming of (a/an) X" at the start of the next Day, where X is the role card of the player who cast the deciding vote the previous Day.
Flavor - The moderator uses aliases for everyone in the votecount the next Day. Votes can be for the aliases or the actual players.
Knowledge - All third-parties in the votecount the next Day are colored blue.
Lockout - All PT's are locked for the next Day and Night. Factional action requests must be submitted by PM to the moderator, who will post them in the PT.
Pressure - The next Day's deadline is cut in half.
Stasis - The next Day's deadline is quintupled (multiplied by 5).
Vision - The moderator will post "I'm dreaming of X" at the start of the next Day, where X is the number of surviving groupscum.

Reroll, but add Strong-Willed to the role name and add "Your actions can't be blocked, redirected or interfered with in any way." to the role card.

Rolling Mafia Goon after this gives you a Mafia Strong-Willed Goon, for example.

Reroll, but add Unchanging to the role name and add "You cannot have your alignment, role, or wincon changed." to the role card.

Rolling Vanilla Townie after this gives you an Unchanging Townie, for example.

Your target is a randomly chosen player.

If you are a Condemner, you win and exit the game if your target is eliminated before the game ends. You lose and exit the game if your target dies in any way other than elimination.

If you are a Savior, you win if your target is not eliminated before the game ends. You win and exit the game if your target dies in any way other than elimination. You lose and exit the game if your target is eliminated.

Once in the game during the Night, you may choose to become completely untargetable by all actions that Night.

Mod Note: Instead of rolling the next person's role, make them a Savior 1-shot Commuter if this role is a Condemner 1-shot Commuter and vice versa, and give them the exact same target.

Demon Lord


You show up as Guilty to all investigations.

Any Watcher targeting a player who was killed will see you as the killer, regardless of who actually killed that player.

All actions targeting you succeed even if they shouldn't.

Each night, you may use one of these abilities which are one-shot unless otherwise specified:

Hellfire - You may target a player to kill with fire, as if you were an Arsonist priming then immediately igniting your target. This ability can be used an unlimited number of times.
Hellfrost - You may target a player to freeze. The frozen player will be announced to be frozen, but will count as removed from the game the next Day and Night (they count as dead for wincon purposes, but for all other purposes the player doesn't exist at all). This ability can be used an unlimited number of times.
Soulbond - You may target two players to link them in one neighborhood and make all actions affecting one affect the other as well (this can be called soulbonding)
Possess - You may target a player to learn what night actions the player has if any and gain the 1-shot ability to control the use of their night actions.
Demonic Surge - You may use two other abilities tonight.

When you die during the Night, the next phase is a Demon's Shadow phase where night actions happen as normal except that standard kill actions will always fail. When you die during any other phase, the phase after the next Night phase is a Demon's Shadow phase.

You win when all other players are dead or nothing can prevent this from happening.

Mod Note: The alignment-role split of this role is named Demon Lord regardless if it is the alignment or role. The Demon Lord alignment only has the Serial Killer wincon (without the factional kill), all of the abilities are part of the Demon Lord role.

Twice in the game during Night, you may get a number from the moderator.

The number starts at 0, and is adjusted by +1 for every townie and -1 for every anti-town player (e.g. groupscum, serial killer, cult) on the previous day's elimination wagon.

Town 1-shot Annihilator


Once in the game during Night, you may attempt to annihilate a player. An annihilated player is treated as being completely nonexistent for all purposes except win condition (an annihilated player counts as dead for wincon purposes).

Annihilation pierces protection and immunities that specifically protect against killing, since Annihilation isn't considered killing for action resolution purposes.

Annihilated players disappear without a flip (and can't be targeted by even Strong-Willed Coroners!), are removed from all PTs they have access to, don't allow backups to grab their roles, and aren't added to the Dead PT, for example.

You redirect non-killing actions targeted at you back to their caster.

You are immune to 1 kill every Night.

You lose these abilities if you ever perform the factional kill, but when performing the factional kill the factional kill is instead a factional annihilation.
An annihilated player is treated as being completely nonexistent for all purposes except win condition (an annihilated player counts as dead for wincon purposes).



If this role is ever given to someone without a factional kill, they gain a 1-shot "factional kill".

Each night, you may attempt to recruit a player to your cult. You are combined with a Universal Backup, meaning you must also use the night action you inherit from the first power role of the same alignment who died on the same target.

If you haven't backed up yet (or backed up a role without a night action), you may use your Cult Leader action as normal.

Mod Note: Actually send this Role PM to the player. They are self-aware. The townie isn't aware the investigation results come from an Inverse Cop however.

Werewolf Inverse Amnesiac Seer


Each night, you may investigate a player.

A townie (you are informed who) will receive results saying that that player is Werewolf or Not Werewolf, however the results are inverted.

Mod Note: Actually send this Role PM to the player. They are self-aware. The townie isn't aware the investigation results come from an Inverse Seer however.

You are independently aligned scum. You have a "factional" Frostbreath action, with which you may target a player to freeze each night. The frozen player will be announced to be frozen and will count as dead for all purposes the next Day and Night, but will not flip.

You randomly redirect abilities targeting you.

You win when everyone else is dead or nothing can prevent this from happening.

Mod Note: "Serial Frostbreather" is the alignment, "Nexus" is the role.

yeah grand idea is meant to be as weird and creative as possible, balancing is only a secondary concern (it is still a concern, don't get me wrong)

radiant idea is where balance (and whether RadiantCowbells is okay with the role) matters

In Grandest Idea, "Assimilator" is a role that randomly converts groupscum-aligned players to your faction.

You may perform more than one action each night.

Once in the game during night, you may attempt to convert a player to your faction.

Replicants are a scumteam with a factional kill. In GIM they are vanishingly rare! Even rarer than Spooks and UrScum, even!

This is why I balance GIM Replicants as if they were independent scum, except with room for conversion.

Unknowing One


You know nothing about your role. You will flip your true role on death, and investigative roles see your true alignment and role.

Mod Note: Randomly roll a role from the GIM thread. That role is the player's true role. If a player tries to target more players than they are capable of targeting, comment out the targets after the allowed limit of targets. If a player targets one player with a role that requires multiple targets, their action fails. For Multitasking roles, the factional kill comes first, then the other actions in order of the Role PM are used. For JOAT-like roles, the actions are used in order of the Role PM.

The player has access to PTs that their role would give them access to, however the identity of said PTs will be hidden (e.g. a Mafia PT or a Mason PT with an Unknowing One would be given a generic name such as "Generic PT"). If targeted by a Neighborizer, they will know it is a Neighborhood PT though.

Suicide is a better mechanic for post-restriction violations than modkilling, especially since permission is now needed for modkills.
1. Modkilling is more thematically appropriate for post restrictions. (Modkilling is thematically appropriate if your slot is compromised, repeat violations of a post restriction fit that bill imo)
2. I still believe it is the gold standard for repeat violations of post restrictions.
3. Suicide instead of modkill would be more fun but it could encourage a cavalcade of post-restriction violating posts if you're in the hole. Mod discretion is a powerful tool here, decide which is better (if you want to avoid modkilling as much as possible, just use unavoidable death as the last punishment of a post-restriction)

Grand Idea Enters a New Era


You may choose your alignment from Town or any scumteam existing in the game. This must be done pregame, otherwise you will default to Town.

If your role is rolled, every player gets a Self Role Reroller invention, allowing them to reroll their role but not alignment.

If you are Town-aligned, you have a 1-shot ability to add someone to your private topic, which you may give any name you wish. You will also know if they are Town-aligned or not.

If you are groupscum-aligned, you have a 1-shot ability to perform the factional kill as if it were Strong-Willed, and you may write your own flavor for the factional kill.

If you are third party-aligned, you may reroll your role but not alignment, and a target player's role but not alignment.

Town Abnormal Tracker


Each night, you may target a player to learn who they targeted.

If you don't see anything, you will be returned "No Result" as if you were roleblocked.

Town 1-shot Namer


Once in the game during night, you may attempt to name a player, causing their role and flip to show their alignment and the name you picked out for them (this counts as a role change).

For example, naming a
Town Shadow Hunter
"Blue Wizard" causes their role to now be called
Town Blue Wizard
