I don't play billiards

You have 2 option - you hit the target or you don't hit the target. So if you don't hit target, does it counts as a miss or not? Accuracy and precision has nothing to do with it, when you have only 2 options

Okay, say I take a rifle out to a shooting range, and for some reason the shooting range has explosive barrels behind the targets. If I intend to shoot the barrels and hit the barrels, I haven't missed. I should have been shooting for the targets, but I wasn't, I was shooting for the barrels. If I had shot the targets that would have been a miss.

I agree that Ank was wrong in whichever game you're talking about, but wrong isn't necessarily missing. If I answer B on a multiple choice question who had the answer of C, I was wrong. If I intended to answer C but filled in the wrong bubble because I thought I was answering the previous or next question, I missed.

Proof either way is nigh impossible, but then again absolute proof itself is impossible, so that has little to do with the definition.

I'm a bit at a loss, how you miss target, but hit barrel
behind
it

That's the difference - objectively you're wrong, if you mark C, but right answer is B. Subjectively you aren't, cause you didn't intend to mark C. And you got it, it's impossible to prove intentions, so I conceded on the spot

Two options. Either the barrels aren't fully obscured by the target due to size or you've learned to curve your projectile like in that movie wanted where bullets are allergic to Angelina Jolie.

Yeah you're not arguing on the same grounds here so you can just both stop.

If you learn to levitate climbing won't tire your arms as much. Also, I now have the mental image of an elephant hanging off of a climbing wall and am suitably impressed.
