Arty beam is same as vanilla I think

We've got a Burst laser II to start, which is also pretty close/identical to vanilla stats

There's also an EMP Ion which charges slightly faster than the laser, deals system and ion damage (but not hull damage), possible stun and good chance of fires.

Current weapon system can only power one weapon at a time (laser or ion), and both weapons are pretty energy intensive.

Let us move.

I'm against the idea of Doors upgrades early, depending on how easy it is to counter boarding vs a normal game. With an Engi on Doors, Mantis, Rock, Slug and good vent positions, those scraps may be better spent elsewhere.

You can always turn oxygen off if something else needs powering ;)

It's all good, usually we want to maximise the amount of jumps we make in a sector; with the rebel fleet only a jump or two behind us. Encounters gets tougher by the sector (so does scrap reward and price for repairs), but jumping sectors early doesn't make the rebels take longer to catch us.

If we get Shields 2 we should be able to get quite a few safe crew culls in early sectors (wiping enemy crew instead of blowing them up gets us more stuff)

There's no good weaponry augment.

Weaponry/Artilery upgrade is a non-priority.

There's a Burst laser II and Chain Laser in the shop (chain laser got changed to similar stats to the Vulcan), but they'll take our entire inventory of scraps to purchase one of, and isn't gonna be powered until atleast another sector and a half worth of scraps.

Still wanting Shields upgrade unless there's something else we'd agree on.

Weaponry don't have spare power or system buffer.

If we've got 2 shields and the enemy can't pierce that, we can just take power from engines until we can afford reactor upgrades. We can use the power from the oxygen, but I'm not sure how much micro is allowed there.

There's good weapons here (Halberd beam, Flak I, Preignighter) but unfortunately they're too expensive for our budget. I'd suggest getting weapon system upgrades over TW's augment suggestion, but that's up to what the rest of the crew feels the best. Just know that we're starting to have issues reliably getting through enemy defenses.

Here's our weaponry situation;

Weapon 1; Burst Laser II, high power requirement, medium charge time (slightly faster than vanilla I think), low system and hull damage, low crew damage, low? fire chance. Sells for ⛯32.

Weapon 2; Emp Ion, high power requirement, medium-fast charge time, deals low system and ion damage, low? chance to stun and medium? chance to start fires. Sells for ⛯35.

Weapon 3; Burst Bomb I. low power requirement, medium-fast charge time, deals low system and ion damage, high? breach chance, low/low-medium crew damage, requires missiles. Sells for ⛯22.

Artilery Beam (independent of weapon system); low power requirement, extremely slow charge time, deals low system and hull damage, pierces all shields (except Zoltan), no manual aim. Is a ship system and cannot be sold.

We can currently only power a weapon and the Artilery at a time.

⛯35 upgrade on weapon system means Burst laser/Ion + Bomb.

~⛯135 upgrade on weapon system means Burst laser + Ion. This setup should be able to reliably get through most enemy defenses.

⛯30 upgrade on artilery increases its power requirement and decreases its charge time.

single weapons upgrade is ⛯45, this'll get the Laser or Ion and the bomb up at the same time.

lvl 2 artilery costs ⛯30, lvl 3 costs another ⛯50 (⛯80 in total).

Am leaning drone system, so giving teh wus ⛯85 (have ⛯8 left). I'll need another ⛯37 to get the weapons upgrade, and we should be saving scraps for 2 more weapon upgrades.

Alternatively, we could upgrade the artilery, but I dunno if that's worth.

Varsoon does bring up good points about repairs and reactor power, something to consider.

Hacking's real nice but I'm not sure if we can get that and Drones up reliably.

I have ⛯59½

I Weapons upgrade is ⛯45

II weapons upgrade is ⛯100

III Weapons upgrade is ⛯165

Artilery upgrades are the same as before.

There's 2 weapons that cost ⛯70 (low power extremely fast charge mini beam, and Charge Las II) which is out of our budget.

There's a Pike beam that costs ⛯35, low power, slow charge time but good beam length.

A single weapon upgrade (⛯45) and the Pike beam (⛯35) should take care of our weapons situation for a while. I'll need ⛯20½ for this.

How are we doing on fuel? I'd suggest a partial repair at the last store, as well as a single or double engine upgrade.

If we're going Pike, I'll but it but won't upgrade weapons yet until the last store.

Here are our choices;

Shields; We
maybe
have the scraps for 3 layers of shield, but it probably won't leave much left for other purcharses.

Engines; Engines are nice, but not as much of a priority yet.

Hacking; Hacking is neat, but already with Drone control, I'm feeling mixed about that.

Weaponry; I'll need ⛯20½ for a single Weapon system upgrade + Pike beam, which is affordable, power-light, and should gives us enough firepower to reliably get through fights for a while.

I'm feelings Weaponry>Shields>Engines>Artilery?>Sub-systems (with repairs/resources/augment, drone and wep purchases/other system stuff somewhere inbetween.)

2. Repairs and fuel (up to Varsoon after the main course of the scraps are spent)

max melee Mantis is like 1.8x damage, right? pretty sure Mantises can deal like 30 damage per hit on Mind Control 3 or something
