yes, vaguely. it's play that doesn't generate any information. why aren't you trying to generate information? There were lots of posts you could have done something with, 9, 11, 12, 16. those are all potential starting points for engagement (or a vote) and moving out of RVS. the fact that you chose to vote elsewhere

and since his post 30 is consistent with this explanation, I don't see a reason to disbelieve that.

Why are you townreading him exactly?

I would say it's far more important to argue for scumreads than townreads right now. If you think rooster's scum because you think he's tonally awkward, the responsibility is on you to vote him and make your case to everyone else. I'm not interested in giving reasons for my townread, I expect you will argue with them and the result will be to drag this game into a noisy disagreement that's of no real value. further, he has ~75% odds of being town in the objective sense, so to calling him scum is the claim that's less likely to be true by default and the one that requires justification.

unless/until rooster's at risk of lynch, my focus is on finding scum, not defending town.

I think he has ignored a lot of the main conversation going on and instead chose to vote for lurkers, who are always easy pushes to make. Also kind of gutreading him as awkward

Another reason why I originally voted him was also bc he said he thought could've been 1 scum in {Elbirn, GL} and then later chose to vote Enigma while not giving a read on either Elbirn or GL, though he later said he was tr'ing both so I'm not sure on this point anymore.

I do agree with the first part but I haven’t played with him before. A lot of players are just awkward so it’s not necessarily AI. I’m not willing to vote invisibility today but if his posts remain disparate and unexplained then he’s really no help to town either way

Even if you don’t agree with his push here, why do you think it was made in “bad faith”? He wasn’t strictly talking about himself and Roster as a scumteam, he was asking Elbirn essentially why he thinks a combination of either scum!GL and town!Roster or scum!Roster and town!GL is likely. If GL is town that means he is sincere in his townread of Roster, so it makes sense for him to ask Elbirn why he thinks at least one of {GL, Roster} is scum, does it not? And how Elbirn responds to those questions will help GL to read his slot as well. He’s not suggesting that Elbirn shouldn’t have individual scumreads.

The bolded questions in the post you quoted are fine, there is nothing disingenuous about them.

This post specifically reminds me of his posts in newbie 1888 and 1889 where he pushes people, thinks out scenarios and weighs in. In his scum games he comes across as more defensive and is less forthcoming with information and analysis and tends to ask hollow questions

Baezu I still need you to explain why you thought it was reasonable to conclude that at least one of {Volxen, Invisbility, Tris} "has" to be scum based on the Yes_Mafia wagon alone. If you are town you don't know Yes_Mafia's alignment. If Yes_Mafia is scum, it's more likely that his wagon was all-town due to his scumbuddies not wanting to put him under that kind of pressure so early on. If he is town it's more likely his wagon had scum on it since he got up to L-1. Since town!you wouldn't know Yes_Mafia's alignment, I think it's a bit presumptuous to declare that at least one of us three "has" to be scum just because we all voted for him. Do you disagree?

It's also strange that you left Insomnia out of your Yes_Mafia wagon analysis.

I felt the wagon on YM gained momentum way too fast which generally indicates that it is scum driven...this is what made me think that YM was probably town. The reason I left insomnia out of the analysis is because at the time of the analysis I had him as a townread.

I’ve been agreeing with most people’s take that skitter has been seeming scummier and scummier, especially the post about her not wanting to fight- for some reason this came across as genuine scum who had given up...I don’t know her playstyle but from what I’ve heard she’s apparently a very formidable player as scum so I wouldn’t think she’d make these comments as scum based on that

I’ve recently had a lot of mislynches in games that I’ve been in so I hesitate to hammer, and anyway intent has already been stated. I would like for skitter to show up to see what she says but honestly, regardless if she’s town or scum the flip will give us more information

A lot of this is dependent on Maria being town and ym being town as well which are the scummiest players here and I'm quite biased

but this would be the logical read. although i'm quite disappointed that i have to form reads based on people that aren't here (ym) and I have to clear them as town for the purpose of scum hunting in the active pool, which i find annoying as hell and counter intuitive. I have to force myself to deal with the active lot while ignoring the lurkers. this isn't how the game should be played. Everyone should be active or at least contribute somehow. guess i can't do anything about it though. sad.
