I just Rear Windowed another apartment setting their kitchen on fire through a series of awful choices. Calling 911 and watching the fire department was better than watching TV.Show"Getting lost in the details of nothing..."

I was thinking court. Judges and in some countries also attorneys wear gowns I believe.
I could see tie also, nice one.
Possibly superhero though if it were superhero why call it gown instead of cape, I think this was intended so we don't choose superhero.
Remember we can also guess words relating to the push clue.
If I understood the rules correctly we have 1 extra guess above the number given by spymaster. So 3 guesses this round.- BuJaber

Pass might be a stretch. I thought line was obvious for push and it turned out it was too much of a stretch. Let's keep guesses more simple/straightforward.- PJ.

I didn't think about courts. Tie is fairly good as well. And I don't think cape would have a very strong connection with court if he was thinking Court/Superhero. I could see superheros maybe wearing gowns, but never judges capes. But Court/Tie is probably better. I'm a bit more confident about court.- Formerfish

Ok, so my desk is set up in my living room and I have a large window in there that faces the apartment building behind me. The building has balconies on the back with doors that go into the kitchens of the apartments. I usually don't pay attention to whats going on back there because its usually pretty boring. This was not one of those times. In post 1283, PJ. wrote:

I noticed something was wrong when I heard the smoke alarm start to go off. I looked up and out my window to see one of the guys who lives there crouching in front of the oven, which at this point only had a little bit of white smoke escaping from it. I could tell he was having issues when he was trying to use a towel to pull something out of the oven. That something ended up being the pan that started the oil/grease fire. Using the towel failed. I watched in shock as I saw the guy take a handful of water from the sink and throw it into the oven. I could see the fire now.
Dark smoke is starting to billow out of the oven, and the air in the kitchen is more opaque that clear at the moment. The guy starts to panic a little. I saw him spin back and forth looking for anything that could possibly help him in this situation. Tongs. That might work. The guy grabs the tongs out of a drawer and attempts to grab the still flaming pan from the oven. It is not an easy task. After a few unsuccessful attempts he was able to get the pan out of the oven. However, he promptly dropped in on the kitchen floor. More panic. Luckily he grabbed the towel he had used earlier and was able to smother the pan with it. It was at this point that he finally closed the oven door as well.
The guy seems to have this under control. The flaming pan is now out of the oven, and has been extinguished. You would think this would have been the end of it and everyone would have gone about their nights and maybe would have a funny story to tell later on. I feel like in a normal world that is what would have happened. However, we don't live in a normal world. We live in this stupid one, with stupid people.
From the best I can figure some of the grease had spilled into the oven itself when the guy tried to remove the pan. After he put out the pan fire one of his roommates finally came over to see what was going on. Roommate looked at the guy with the pan on the floor who then motioned to the oven. Roommate walked into the kitchen and opened the oven door. This was a decision that I believe he immediately regretted. He only opened the door for a second or two, and seeing him jump back from the sight of the fire raging in the oven now quickly explained why. Flames jumped up and over the open door, rushing towards the roommate holding the door open. Thick black smoke instantly filled the room and rolling smoke went up the side of the building. The roommate let the oven door slammed closed. I watched in stunned silence as I watched the roommate get a glass from the counter, fill it with water, and open the oven again to throw it in there.
This is when I called 911. I don't know if you all know what to do with a grease fire, but I assure you water is the worst thing you could do. You would be better suited to let the fire burn out on its own than throw water on it. For those who do know what happens when you throw water onto a grease fire, you know that the resulting fireball was fucking spectacular. It was also liable to burn the building down. The 911 operator who took the call got my info and let me know that someone else had already called that fire in and help was on the way. Next thing I know the air sirens go off, then a few minutes later you can hear the fire engine siren. Then the lights start flashing off the other buildings.
When the fire fighters got into the apartment they emptied two canisters of foam into the oven and then dragged the entire unit out onto the back porch. They stuck around for a little bit to check some other areas out in case it had spread. After they deemed it clear they took off and left the guys to clean all the foam up. The simple moral of this story is to use baking soda to put out grease fires.Show"Getting lost in the details of nothing..."

I'm pretty sure one of them is Pyramid. Maybe Maple for the second? I'd be surprised if there was only one of Circle/Round and not the other with a clue that fits both, so I'm ruling those out."Dammit Felissan, making someone lose the game is NOT NICE"- DeathRowKitty 2016

I was actually thinking itcouldbe circle and round, because cake avoids answers that the more obvious "shape" clue wouldn't (like pyramid or pipe). I agree that maple could work. Maybe water, too, given it's an ingredient in cake batter, but that seems like a stretch.
I don't understand how cake relates to pyramid; could you elaborate on that?- Felissan

I'm pretty sure there's some category of cake with multiple layers that's called pyramid cakes."Dammit Felissan, making someone lose the game is NOT NICE"- DeathRowKitty 2016

I would like to do round and not circle, and I'm good with pyramid.Show"Getting lost in the details of nothing..."
