Scumreading. Forking town intentionally is dumb. If we fork 2 mafia, they have two choices. A) Allow deadline and lose all agency in a NK. B) Fork town and let town control the next two lynches. In post 161, themilkcartonkid wrote:Jingle, are you sring your forkreads or do you think they're town?

Police academy, 8Ball, Boonskiies. Was scum for the first two, snowed you until you replaced in PA, ran out of lynch options in 8Ball and had a frustratingly lurky partner, and I think we mutually sr-d for a while in Extravaganza until we were both obvtown AF.In post 440, PenguinPower wrote:

Flubbs>Boon>PP>Chara in amount of experience with me, AFAIK. The rest of you are all mostly people I've been in short snippets of games with or modded. Or I've forgotten. I know me and UT probably played together years ago, but can't remember a game. Sky has also been in a few of my games but I don't think we've ever interacted to the point where I'd expect her to think she can read me.
Boon probably the safest bet at actually getting a bead on my alignment? I'm pretty sure Flubbs has tr-d me every time I've rolled scum against him, although I'm fairly accurate at reading him. This is a Parachute.- Jingle

No lunch seems town with plenty of evidence of thought patterns. Sky seems really town and I'm not sure where that's coming from.
Fuscosco feels like a group of bits stapled together. If he's a fork candidate I don't think it's warranted.
Mild town on pp just via fluency.
Don't really get where Tenrose is coming from.
I don't have a read I trust on UT.
Bins comments feel anachronistic.
Chara feels like an intentional overreaction/overfocus which is generally scummy.

I'm pretty unworried about LYLO, tbh.In post 1, implosion wrote:Mafia-aligned players may never fork in such a way that they would immediately win. Two examples: (1) If there is 1 alive mafia and 3 alive town, a forked mafia may not fork to two of the alive town, though if desired they could fork one of them and one other already-forked player. (2) If there are 2 alive mafia and 3 alive town, and 1 forked mafia and 2 forked town, the forked mafia could not fork the two already-forked town, as this would cause the "no forked players" clause to take effect and the mafia would get to fork a townie for free and immediately win. If they do attempt such a fork, the moderator will announce that it failed, and that mafia member will die. There should never be any good reason for this to happen. This is a Parachute.- Jingle

My point is that in LYLO we want to fork one person at a time anyway, and we want the scummiest forkee to do the forking, so having a ton of forkers who can mouth noises isn't a particularly bad thing as long as we can keep discussion active. If we get close to deadline (an actual concern) one of the forked can fork other forks if we have a bunch of forks. That way we can delay a catastrophic forkdeath. This means that having more forked players as we approach LYLO is actually + town EV.In post 695, Bins wrote:thats not my point about LYLO
my point is, because when theres ex. 7 players alive and 3 scum and 4 forked players, we'll only need like two of the forked players forks, so its better for some of them to fork some already forked players to get flips

Lol.In post 756, Bins wrote:only scum would want more forked town
Okay, so here's the point of the setup. In a LYLO situation, we 100% want scum to be making the forks. Because they can't fork a victory. However, also in a LYLO situation, scum just has to sit and not fork anyone for three days to cause a scumwin.
So, the way a LYLO scenario should unfold is this. 1 day is the forked person who is scummiest is chosen (We will refer to this player as bins). Day 2 is Bins choosing and forking their preferred forks. Day 3 is another forked player (Let's call them Jingle) forking specifically them and a third already forked player if they refuse to fork.
If Bins is scum, that means we have one more dead scum player than expected and are not in fact in LYLO. It also potentially means Bins has to fork scum. If Bins is not scum, Bins has complete agency over their fork targets.
The number of forked townies is irrelevant to this process.
The reason additional forked townies is useful is because the deadline on this process is in fact, 3 Days. If we cannot decide who has to fork in LYLO in less than 24 hours, a town player in the forked pool can choose to extend that deadline by killing themselves and two forked players. We need 2 forked players to be able to guarantee we can't lose to mafia running out the clock. Therefore, every 3 players past two in the forked pool is a bonus to us.
Similarly, having additional forked scum players ISN'T a detriment, because they can't fork ftw. They can fork already forked people to reduce the deadline bank, but doing so doesn't really advance their wincondition. Basically, having additional, living forked players gives us semi trustworthy voices. Thus, forked scum aren't really a threat, and can be relatively safely ignored.
And yes, you should 100% coordinate forks to not overlap.
I'm not arguing against forking scum once. I'm arguing that the second fork on a scum player is useless when we're at low players, because if they are scum, they're already neutered. This is a Parachute.- Jingle

Potential LYLO is 6 living (You have to fork two at a time). That means that only one of DT and nl should fork here, and then the most scummy of the 3 remaining forked players should be made to fork. I'd honestly prefer that DT fork whoever nl tells them to fork. Because we get more info from DT flip than nl flip. This is a Parachute.- Jingle

First of all, yeah, I was of the belief we had more living players than we do (by one).
No. If we double fork two people here, we're at 5 Alive. In post 774, Bins wrote:OR we can do what i was suggesting, which is deny scum their kill by double-forking people, and stop having to preemptively fork town before we have no information
If we hit two scum, gg, we win. We would have won anyway.
If we hit 1 scum, 1 town we're at 5 alive and one town forked. who then has a 1/4+1/3 chance of winning the game. Woohoo, except for the fact that scum chose exactly who had the choice to fork, so... probably a loss there.
If we hit 0 scum, we're at 5 Alive, with scum's choice of town player to fork next. And they have to hit scum FIRST out of their choices. So... almost certainly a loss there.
Scum being forked and still alive here is 100% a nonissue. This is a Parachute.- Jingle
