Why are people calling that girl Jeyne? She's not Jeyne. She's some random girl from Volantis. Jeyne was from the west. I believe her last name was Westerling.

As far as the three guys that can kill Jaime, Barristan is definently one. I'm thinking the others are the Cleganes. Would he allude to his father as one? I don't think he respects Oberyn Martrell. Many people in the books despise the dornish as warriors because of their cultural ties to poison. Also Oberyn uses a spear. I believe he explicitly says sword?

I don't remember this. The Red Viper uses poison but it's more the Reed's that use poison and are looked town upon for it. Also fairly sure Oberyn is proficent with the sword - just chose to use the spear against Gregor.

It's probably the Clegane's and Barristan anyway. And no, not the Knight of Flowers - can't imagine Jaime thinking he'd be a match for him.

I'm not exactly sure Tyrion and Jaime would share opinions on it but Tyrion specifically states something about poison being unhonorable and Oberyn tells him not to worry about it considering the poison will save Tyrion's life. There is a bunch of stuff scattered through the books saying poison is unhonorable

Also, when was it said that Garlan was Renly's ghost? I don't remember that at all.

And why did someone spoiler tag that Cersei was dead? I totally expecting her to be dead at the end o the 5th book and she wasn't, what the fuck?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there are only 4 choices, The Clegane's, Barristan, and Oberyn. And at that point it's open to interpretation, but I can assure you he wasn't meaning Loras, for what Sudo said. Also Loras is known more for his lance then for swordplay.

I really disliked that scene.

Also didn't like Catelyn's monologue about it "all being her fault".

He actively managed MANY brothels in the books. At least that's the impression I got.

I discussed it with my sister, and I think it's more because Bronn makes for far more interesting TV than Ser Ilyn Payne and has very little to do with the actor of Ilyn Payne possibly being sick(I didn't hear anything about it so i'm completely ignorant to his situation.)

Yeah this Drone arc was much less rebellion much more 4 women frowning in a hallway. I would totally watch a "Cooper and Darnell" buddy cop spin off though. I guess there really wasn't much to expect from an arc that had it's main characters cut.

Stannis torching
Shireen
was very weird. I don't like that Stannis torched
shireen
but I feel they did that just so he would be doing something other than freezing his dick off, which I guess is boring but fine at the same time.

I don't mind when tv shows/movies deviate from the text as long as they at least keep the character intact. This doesn't go at all with Stannis' character.

Maybe I don't understand his character as well as you but it seemed to fit to me? He assassinated his own brother.

That was pretty out of character for him as well; I forgot about that.

Spoiler: Text spoilers?
In the books, that is what happens, but it's pretty clear that Stannis doesn't know that's how his brother was killed.

So Renly being assassinated totally fits Stannis' character because he felt that it was the best course of action towards winning the war and he felt betrayed that his younger brother would try to jump past him to get the throne because Stannis is a bit of a jerk. I get it, he didn't want to fight a war with the tyrell's and his brother only to go down to the Lannisters once his army is weakened.

Burning Shireen at the stake doesn't fit his character because of the context of why he did it. By all accounts the dude is the greatest commander in westeros and his biggest accomplishment involved him and his army eating rats to stave of a year long siege until his main man Davos snuck in some fruits and veggies and then they used the power of proper nourishment to overcome the enemies Popeye style. But the reason he burn Shireen, his only heir and daughter(which is a no fly zone to most people who he's trying to convince to follow him), is 1) some snow and 2) his inexplicable inability to do war things.

Y'all watching game of thrones too seriously.

Y'all worried about how the dothraki teleported instead of just appreciating that the fight was legit one of the most anticipated things of the last few seasons, right up there with R+L=J

Who cares? Seriously? I'm p sure this is an 8 episode season. It's the last season. We need to take shortcuts, and honestly it took us 70 hours-ish to get to the dragon fight that we've been waiting for since those dragons got born. That wasn't long enough for you? Like we had departures from the book as early as S2 and we've been in warp speed since S5ish. Now, on the hangover from badass arya, fire-ice winkery, and FUCKING DRAGON DEATH is not the time to he shaking your head and sighing logistics and if you are or even vaguely considering this bad story telling, I think you're just not a very fun person. This is the payoff season, men. This winks and flexing and FUCKING DRAGONS. Did I mention the dragons? Idk man, sit down, shut up, and strap in. That's my advice.

show: so yeah the army that is only good at rushing headlong into things and only thrives in the desert and is a bunch of fish outta water as established by the narrative is gonna get shitstomped by the night king

show: the army of the dead is so terrifying they also overwhelm the unsullied who stand their ground until the bitter end as also established by the narrative
me: this is a bunch of different shades of black
show: the army of the dead is also gonna wipe out the northern army because they're just that damn overwhelming and the northern army is ragtag and weary and underfed as established by the narrative
me: this is a lot of shades of white
show: fuck sis the army of the dead is even so powerful that five main characters
who are all white
are gonna bite the dust too and wipe out the entirety of house mormont
and no speaking actors of color die

me: the greatest threat to westeros and human kind lasted 1 night and the culmination of 7 seasons of build up was spoiled in the last Jedi. I hope they tell us how arya jumped farther than Giannis and faster than Usain Bolt. At least they saved a lot of money on cg.

That's fine, but the way it happened is complete bullshit. She's mad because the show ignored uh...how seeing things works and Jon ignored her wishes told sansa who then did exactly what dany thought she'd do. Those are pretty ineffective reasons to burn a whole city to the ground, especially when literally 10 episodes ago she said "I don't want to be queen of the ashes".

I agree with you, that this is how it was always going to end(too much foreshadowing for it not to be) but that doesn't change the fact that it still feels unearned and rushed.

But it definitely doesn't hold a candle to the complete destruction of Jamie Lannister's character in the span of like..40 minutes.

Edit: to quote someone way smarter than me on the daenyres thing
the ringer wrote:In the chaos of “The Bells,” the show forgot about the empathy that has been as fundamental to Daenerys’s character as her ruthlessness. She isn’t the Breaker of Chains for nothing. Daenerys used to personally save women from being raped by Dothraki warriors. She freed the Unsullied and countless other slaves. She took Yunkai, Astapor, and Meereen with minimal bloodshed, and she succeeded in creating a better world for the people in those cities. She wanted to rule, yes, but the girl who had spent so much of her childhood being bullied and tormented by more powerful men also knew what injustice was.

What Thrones seemed to be setting up for years was a conflict between Daenerys’s compassion and her dogged pursuit of the Iron Throne. What decision would she make when winning the crown required the loss of thousands of innocent lives? Yet this episode didn’t give us that dilemma. When Daenerys chooses to burn King’s Landing, it’s after the people of the city are ringing the bells and the Lannister soldiers have thrown down their weapons.

Idk, I'm just incredibly disappointed by the last 3 episodes and feel that we've been robbed of some of the best and most emotional scenes in the show while the battles that they ceded time to have been mostly kinda bad tv.

Also this season is all kinds of bad and this final episode just left me feeling nothing for the season... which a finale shouldn't.
Me and my sister just laughed and meme'd the entire ep with like 2 moments where we were like put that was nice (sad drogon and Jon hanging out with ghost)

Sam has literally one link in his maester chain, how the fuck is he grandmaester of anything? Literally the worst kind of nepotism.

There is zero percent chance Jon just walks out of a city filled with angry Dothraki after he killed their Khaleesi. It stretches credibility he rotted in jail for weeks.

The whole Bran vote is weird. Are you telling me the North gets to put one of their own on the Throne to rule EVERYONE else and then opt out and nobody else had a problem with this? Riverlands and Veil, sure, they obviously showed no real desire to be independent and Bran is their nephew/cousin so it is a decent deal for them. The Reach is decimated and Bronn has power to say no since he only BECOMES Lord Paramount if he is in the Realm (Nobody there is going to follow him otherwise) so that's fine. But the Ironborn? Dorne? They are just going to let some random-ass Northerner child rule them while the North itself leaves and not even debate the notion of leaving too?

It wasn't even a bad episode. It just...had a lot of handwave stuff where they just want you to go with it.
The entire dragon pit scene was really tough. Tyrion in manacles going from grey worm telling him to shut the fuck up to choosing the king, the whole choosing based on a "good story", philosophizing on stories in general given the setting, yara and the unnamed prince of dorne not being like "hold up, receding is an option? We take our vote back and recede", grey worm casually holding kings landing for like 2 months, grey worm not killing john after he was litterally killing lannister dudes in the street, and on and on.

Only good parts of that scene were sansa dunking on her uncle and Sam getting laughed out of the room for suggesting democracy
