I do think that the veto counter resets for each mission. I don't see why not. But 5 is kind of high. I think normally it takes 3 vetoes per mission to get a fail. I've talked myself into thinking it could be different.

And that's a good point. When I asked about what Baezu's role could be, I was trying to be more rhetorical than anything. But since everyone has a unique pr it is pretty easy to start to think about what role someone has instead of stopping short at what team they are on. If not only to oneself anyway.

L knows who all of the scum are. he could easily say "so and so and so are all scum, keep them off missions", but he cannot do so because it would reveal who he is, causing him to be killed at the end and resulting in our loss.
and that's why i've been telling everyone not to claim this whole time, because claiming who you are narrows down scum's options when trying to figure out who L is.

Exactly. The amount of information out there is so vast that it only takes one extra bit of information to solve the game for either side. But it has to be the right side that figures it out.

Once we get an idea of who stk wants to send on the mission, we should be able to progress with the game. Even if that means collaborating on who we think are the best options to send.

I don't think the risk of claiming is really worth it. I suppose it is possible to math out the win con, but I feel like the amount of knowledge is vague enough to prevent anyone from outright knowing anything. I appreciate the attempt and I even town read you for it, stk, but I don't think that it is the way I want to go.

Chances are that the first mission will succeed no matter what just because the Kira team wouldn't want to reveal themselves so easily. I'm not surprised that this game has such a low post number because of the system, us being new, and most of us being at stk's mercy for now.

I feel like we hear one or two team possibilities from stk to vote for so we can progress and get some info. If we get close to a 5th veto we can sweat but I don't think that will/should happen D1 in this game type.

I didn’t realize that the holder of the death note could vote someone other than themselves...wouldn’t this draw attention to them as scum though?

So my thinking is this:

It's not necessarily an admission of guilt. I think it can be pretty towny to give up a mission slot to someone that is collectively agreed upon as town. If one or two people feel uneasy about a person, maybe they can go. But if three or more of us don't like the person deciding the team, then it would be pro-town to give up your slot.

My opinion anyway.

Sadly it isn't an autowin. I've found strategies to bring the winrate up to 95%, which happens in certain cases where the scum are able to counterclaim perfectly, but it's still better than the max 83% winrate if we go the normal route.

I don't like TLK because he was agreeing with sending you on the mission and now he's in with 2 other people that he shouldn't be comfortable with because he didn't express it. From a him PoV, he'd want to be with you on a mission if he trusts you.

Everyone on the mission I expressed being okay with, but okay? I don't know where you got the opposite idea.

He's just scummy to me, there's no information to go off of right now. I'd rather have me be the leader and form my own team. I'm the next on the list if we leave this. I'd personally take Chito, me and I'll re-read and search for a third that I like. I think I'm fine with chara as a third, not sure.

The top two relate to the point I was making before. It feels like PP is projecting his own opinion about the mechanical approach to you as a general group concensus. Especially because he decided to take a part of your post where you gave stk town points.

I got a different feel for the stk early discussion and felt that it was more dropped because we agreed that it was bad form to break the game. But unless we all agree to the entire plan, there isn't harm in posting something that stk worked so hard on.

I really like stk's mechanical strat. It was super popular but I don't think it comes from scum ever.

Chara also has good mechanical analysis around the potential Shinigami and that also sounds like a town thought.

300 posts is a long time at the rate this game has been going. Of everyone that suggested the chara/insomnia pairing that nips went with I felt like he was the most likely to be town. But it does bug me that now he's saying he thinks there were 2 scum on the first mission when he proposed both chara and insomnia to nips.

I'm probably overthinking this and his reads just changed. I still think he's probably town. This is just the one thing that is pausing me on making him an autoinclude rn.
