I think it would be nice if everyone gave a rough idea of what class type they intend to play. It won't be helpful if we end up with five bards singing at each other.
Personally, I'm willing to wait until everyone else has said what their preference is, and then just pick up something that the party still needs.

Also, I don't have a dndbeyond account, but I found an editable character sheet pdf. Would it be OK for me to use and share that for my character, instead?

Google account works. Could you tell us what settings to use with the sheets? (e.g. milestone vs xp and so on)

The usual roles used to be: tank, damage dealer, skill monkey, face, buffer, debuffer, battlefield controller, healer.

Most characters who are faces also have some other role. For example, a bard would be a face and could also be a buffer, debuffer, skill monkey, or healer.

This is for 3.5e. I've never played 5e so I have no idea how things have changed.

@Spam: Obviously I'm considering a ranger. But, as I said, I'm technically waiting until everyone else has picked a class, so that I can fill in a role that we need, if necessary. I will make a ranger and add it to the campaign, for now, but might change it after Porkens and Allomancer pick characters.

Let's see what we have:

Barbarian, Paladin, Rogue, Bard.

I'll have to switch to a full caster, won't I?

The only caster I ever played was a 3.5e Warlock, so I guess I'll give spells a try this time around.

I've switched to Pollux ('cause he's a caster, get it?) the human wizard. If he ever dies and can't be brought back, I still have Screek the birb with his bow, in reserve.

Oh, right. The only option was firearms specialist, and that's just silly for my character. Could I have Keen Mind, instead? It suits the character's backstory better.

I'll assume mine's the tall, badly-dressed one.

A gaunt and slightly pale man in plain (and somewhat unkempt) dark robes is walking along, reading a book and paying little attention to his surroundings. Every few seconds he points a finger in front of him and mutters a few words, causing the ground in front of him to become more smooth and free of tripping hazards. At some point he stops, strokes his pointy goatee, then points a finger to the ground again, lifting a large amount of loose earth, packing it together, and depositing it in a short column in front of him. He sets his book on it, produces an ink bottle and quill from a pocket and starts crossing things out and scribbling on the page, ignoring the new splashes of ink joining their kind on his clothes. After a minute or so, he returns the items in his pocket, points at the column of earth which goes back into its recently dug hole, and continues walking, reading, and smoothing the path ahead of him.

Original Roll String: 1d20+6 (STATIC)
1 20-Sided Dice: (10)+6 = 16

Assuming that whatever required this save doesn't leave him incapacitated, Pollux will immediately be interested and go to see what this Master of the Magical is all about.

Also, the fractals thing was a joke.

Well, I had to edit the post, initially to remove the space between the numbers and the +, and then to try to get rid of the "static".
Here, let's try without editing:

1 20-Sided Dice: (12)+6 = 18

I would like to roll a perception (or perhaps investigation?) check, to see if the guy is cheating (e.g. pulling the ball into his sleeves or something). If there's cheating going on, Pollux would like to surreptitiously attempt to take a specific action that I will PM you.

"Slumber, beast."

Cast Sleep. Place the centre about 10 feet behind the rhino and 15 feet above, which should mean that nobody is caught in the sphere other than the rhino, given that everyone is running away. If this is impossible to do, I'm alright with including xof's half-elf in the sphere, since they're immune.

Just in case anybody is unfamiliar with the term (because I sure as hell was), I believe it basically means that the person dealing the final blow can decide what the final attack looks like, to make it cool (or sometimes funny).

Pollux turns to Norixius and says in Draconic: "Thank you golden one. You saved my life."
Then he turns to Ilyana and says in Elvish: "And your song restored my vitality, beautiful one."
Then he turns to Cheater and says in Common: "And you, stout fellow, killed the beast quite expertly."
And finally to all of them, in Common: "You all have my gratitude."
