For the record, trying to counter-team someone in Pokémon happens in grassroot tours like this. The things is, it can backfire horrendously as you usually end up opting for something with an advantageous matchup, at the cost of overall consistency. Just don't use the same all the time.

After worlds I'll start-up a competitive pokemon thread with a bunch of resources and I'll organise some tours or something for everyone.

Monotype is cool, just limit the team to be the same one throughout all three sets in a best of three. Allowing people to change between rounds is absolutely fine. If people want to counter-pick that's their risk to take.
