Hmmmm okay. Scientist, round, and death jump right out at me. Round is probably the weakest of those, but it's pretty strong. Weak association to chest, very weak to paper.

I don't know the word itself, so I can only approve scientist. Care to explain it?

An oncologist is a medical doctor specializing in cancers. It's one of the most technical and scientific branches of medicine, as well as one of the most highly-active research sectors in the field. Scientist is locked, and I think death is too.

Round is a little weaker, but still probably the third. Doctors do rounds to check on their patients, especially in long-term care like some cancer wards. Chest is vaguely medical, and there's a lot of paperwork involved. Knowing Haschel's sophistication, I doubt he'd miss the "round" connection.

Hmmm. That said, why "oncologist" and not simply "doctor" or "physician?" Maybe I'm missing something.

Ok then. I definitely agree with scientist and death. As for the third word, it's most likely something specific to cancer, that wouldn't allow for a safer and more generic clue instead. I'll think about it a bit more tomorrow, though I don't promise anything since I obviously don't know a lot of medical vocabulary.

I do; I'm an emergency medical technician. I'm not seeing anything else related to cancer, though. There's a foundation for cancer research using the acronym CHEST, but if you look closely enough there's oncology-related acronyms for Bat and Net, a treatment designed to Cloak cancer cells, etc. I doubt Haschel sends us that far into the weeds.

I'd like to promote Paper up to main consideration. In the context of medicine as a science, and oncology in particular as a research-driven branch of its practice, Paper looks a lot more attractive, as in "research paper".
