It wasn't exactly a joke. My votes tend to...elicit reactions, let's say. So I wasn't joking about being scum. Rather, I wasn't just doing it without purpose, although I did have fun while writing it, I admit.

Okay, here we go.

I did it somewhat jokingly, and somewhat not. My response: "Joking? No." was actually in response to the question: "First time doing this, Aegor?" The explanation about my theoretical scumbuddies was not to be taken too seriously. However, there was still some "serious" component, as I could have joked about something more innocuous. In this way, the explanation was both for my own amusement and just breaking the ice. Considering the facts that I am amused and we are still talking about it, I would say that it was a success.

@IH: Basically the last four or five my votes have been incredibly inflammatory (lynch-1, lynch-2 in a game full of nervous newbies), or with strange explanations. Feel free to check my play history, you'll see consistency.

Well, yes. First, we got out of the random voting stage pretty quickly. Second, I'm surprised that some players (BB) would take the posts so seriously, considering the fact that I'm by no means a new players. Of course, they may not have known that. But there's a difference between calling for my lynch, and asking for reasons...

I do not comprehend why Aegor would claim scum. In my mind a townsperson wouldn't go that far, just for reactions. His first few posts look as if he thinks he may pretend to have a special role, but the title of Nightless Vanilla is in the thread so I don't think he overlooked that. Aegor being "amused" at his result makes me think he is scum. I can't see a townsperson being amused by watching reactions of people he doesn't know the alignment of. But if one were scum he'd be amused in watching the reaction of the people he knows are town.

LOL. People are taking this WAY too seriously. I TOLD you, I didn't just do it for reactions. The first one was basically a joke. But when it didn't get the attention I wanted (because I'm a ho like that), I pushed it a little bit. I expected some new player to say something, and then the more experienced players would jump in and say it was a joke, it was a test, blahblahblah. Granted, it didn't exactly work out the way as planned, but I am still amused at an extremely comical situation and the fact that it has become so dreadfully serious. I am not going to claim it to be light-hearted, because that wouldn't be true either. However, it was somewhat tongue-in-cheek, as I have been saying this entire time.

What mistake? That doesn't make much sense to me.

Why is it trivial? How is someone joking around and saying yeah i'm scum after the mistake not warrant a vote. Out of everyone unvoting so far both people doing so leave a bad taste in my mouth.

It doesn't warrant a serious vote. It warrants a vote that is reciprocal in the way that it is also tongue-in-cheek. Plus, if it deserves a vote, why would you not vote for me, instead of those who unvoted?

2). I'm glad your analysis is wrong, otherwise I might have something about which to worry! Thinking that what I did was scummy is a natural first reaction. I didn't single anyone out because they thought it was scummy. Rather, a single person called for my lynch.

In another game, I'm pretty sure I put someone at lynch-1 to test for reactions (it's done, BTW). That's a risk. What risk was involved here, exactly?

Aegor would have been about 43% is he had attempted to play off the accusation, but by addressing it, he loses about 12% in suspicion for the moment.

Out of curiosity, is there some hidden formula that determines these percentages? 12%? That's not even a nice number.

In my eyes, it was a bad move whether Aegor is mafia or town. (Worse if mafia, obviously.)

It wasn't a bad move. No one died. No one could have been annihilated by a quicklynch. No PR was outed (lol). It had 0 risk involved, and now we have a flow of information (which is different from discussion).

Also, I echo IH's statements. So you say that I'm scummy, yet Blackberry is even more suspicious. Then you claim that what I did would have been even WORSE for mafia than it would have been for town. The logical step is OBVIOUSLY to vote me.

I am V/NA until the 16th starting on Thursday. I will be active until then, but I am backpacking in New Mexico with no communication at all. I would be more than happy to stay in the game, but I realize the activity expectations, and thus am fine in being replaced. Again, if you don't mind me staying in although I won't be able to post, then I would rather stay in. However, that probably won't be the case. I'll let Phate decide what to do, because I am enjoying this game and want to someone contribute after my absence.
