I'm going to have to work out how much data I'm willing to buy for this, I think having no data in my phone plan (because i hardly ever use the phone in any case) and the walk around town yesterday to collect pokestops might have been a bit on the expensive side.

I just logged on to three Rattatas as the closest Pokémon to me.

Catching one got me up enough rattata candy to evolve a previous one I had.
I'm worried about this Radicate's health though. It only weighs 2.5 kg. (Less than it did as a rattata) The pokedex also says it's meant to be 18!

What do the blue backgrounds behind some of the Pokémon mean?

I've done about 15km in 3 days and I know that's not a LOT but it's a lot for me. My legs are sore as heck.
I did 25km yesterday, but didn't do it with Pokémon go (I did turn it on at some points but no Pokémon appeared) I think I must have already been crazy.

I decided to attempt to attack a gym that had pokemon 600 CP above mine. It didn't end well.

I've seen Onix & Hitmonchan on my nearby list, I have a Ponyta and a gym near me has a kanghaskstan.

If I can stay connected today I'm planning on getting myself a lot more Pokémon by taking the train to the city.

This makes it much easier to play the game without having to turn data on. I may manage to one day have good enough Pokémon to turn data on and challenge a gym. Just need to catch a Pokemon at 18 past the hour every hour and I'll do it from within bed. Plus a few other spawns I reach on the WiFi

I just had a Bulbasaur spawn in my house, but I think the servers are overloaded (it jammed on the in-ball screen and the pokeball in the corner is still spinning), but I don't want to quit the app because I know he's despawned if it's not loaded the option options, but I don't think it's going to grant me that.

Usually it finishes spinning the pokeball before that.
I gave up on having it confirmed something happened after 40 minutes of waiting, as the next Pokémon was going to be appearing. I haven't got back into the game since I did that though, do there's still hope.

But I think it's going to have gone the same way as the Radicate I had under the same circumstances a week ago where I left the game open overnight waiting, the only trace of it was a greyed outline in the pokedex

Didn't get the bulba :(
Only trace is the outline to say I've encountered one in the pokedex, but there was nothing I could do about getting kicked from the server (as I never got back on last night, I think that has to the only possible scenario as for why it was taking so long to spin out)
I'll catch one again eventually and even out my caught/seen listed

Magmar got given evolutions in a later game, as did Electabuzz and possibly some others that didn't have any before.
Golbat and Magneton are also two that evolved further in a later game.

I generally walk over 10km daily, and have only hatched 1 10km so far, but that's kind of beside the point when the majority of the time I wouldn't have this game turned on. I have about 3km left on my second 10km egg though, and I might get that done if I go walking back and forth to the pokestop down the street tomorrow.

I suppose I'm waiting on it to decide whether to continue powering up the Papers or not

I suppose that will help me know when to leave the house, especially since I've already worked out the timings for the spawn points near me, although it would be easier if the nearby list worked on that same principle, as I generally didn't care about the old three feet ones.

I can confirm I got 22 with my Pinsir and Lapras (I've powered it up as well, but I remember that number). 5 with a magicarp, 6 with Spearow, 12 with bellsprout, 13 with Oddish, 16 with Voltorb, 21 with poliwag.
Any others I've hatched have been ones I've caught without hatching, so I don't know numbers. (Spearow was one of those, but i know I'd only caught the one and transferred it when the new one hatched)

I am still worried about the weight of some of these pokemon, especially ones being evolved. I don't think Earth actually has the proper pokemon foods here.

I just hatched my fourth Caterpie. They seem to love being inside my 2km eggs.

Although because I've evolved two of them, and they're not really that common here to catch, I haven't got enough for a butterfree yet, so I'm not sure whether I actually want more or not to get a butterfree. I think I'd rather some different pokemons though.

I don't think it's worth me going out in the rain to get more pokeballs, regardless of the amount I collect I always seem to need more.
Basically any time I go over 20 I require at least 10 throws to catch the next Pokémon I see and the rest of them follow soon after.

We can at least customise characters again. Why they bothered to introduce new outfits and such is rather weird though when there were better things.

But it's easy enough to know where and when Pokémon spawn near you even with pokevision. The only benefit I would have got was discovering the kabuto was not where I was hoping it was the two times I've seen in pop up at the time of the hour.

That basically what I do each time, although I decided to take over the gym once, but only because someone was nice and left a junk pokemon there, and a few other times I've decided to battle randomly.

I have also prestiged up the gym for a team mate on a lower level to get a pokemon in since my pokemon have gotten to a high enough level to be competitive (I think it was when my trainer level got to ~15) and prestiged up up for myself while waiting for a train, although sadly I got kicked out of that gym before I got home and my got the reward though :(
I'm yet to actually defeat any of my own pokemon I've placed in gyms.

I just wasted all my pokeballs again, somehow couldn't even hit a dodou. I just needed one more catch to go up a level as well, I think that must have been the cause, suppose I'd better just evolve something to level up instead, I'm fairly sure that can't go wrong.

Oh I know. I wasn't worried about that. Just thought I was losing my mind or my capability of doing simple math for a minute. Or I missed where transfers now gave you 2 candies instead of 1 or something else.
Evolving gives you a candy back. So you need 12, but it really only costs 11

I'm annoyed toda, i went down to take the gym and a dick drove up next to me and stole it from m after i defeated it.
Bloody car players. If he was walking then I'd be yeah whatever as I'd have been able to laugh about itl, but just pulling up, and popping a pokemon in and driving away. Gahh. I didn't really feel like battling again, espeically when the new pokemon was 600 CP higher than the one I'd just taken out. (which was also 100 CP higher than my highest)
I think I'm going to go back to waiting for someone else on my team to come take it so I can move it without having to go through effort.

Also Pidgey's need bigger shoulders, I somehow keep managing to throw the pokeballs over the top of them.

I tried one around the same level (Lapras at 1950) at a different gym, apparently I can't, as I ran out of time.

Also it looks like the nearby list is dead. "Sightings"

I have now found some extra high level players near me as I went to the next town over that has more gyms. Crazy person (or more likely hacker) in two of them at level 34.
And there's another gym here that causes my game to crash when trying to see what Pokémon are in it.

My plans of claiming multiple in one day look shot based on that.

I successfully grabbed a Tentacool and a kabutos using it today. I do feel like I'm mostly just walking around from seeing them though.

I think I also worked out the location of a Squirtle and an Electabuzz using it, but both were somewhere I was unable to go, so I was unable to determine correctly.

I probably didn't go hunting the Magmar hard enough, it wasn't along the street I walked and couldn't be bothered getting the other ones.

I think I'd have to go driving to nests to even get to 110, from the pokemon I've seen arrive in my town, i'd only manage maybe 102 if they appeared often enough.

I have no source of water or electrc pokemon without traveling somewhere else.

I knw that from my one trip to the beach I've done. It was just annoying I wasn't allowed into the caravan park that had everything.

Well I probably could have snuck in, but I shall listen to the advice it gives me about not tresspassing.

I got back into it when the double XP bonuses existed at the end of November. Possibly in order to hunt for the Ditto. (i'm not playing enough to have actually found one yet though)

Now I'm just trying to keep my streaks going, and getting the local gym on a daily basis, which is generally just what we walk past with the dogs on their walk.

It'd be nice if I could get consistent access to reaching the pokestop down the road via wi-fi again though.

I found out by discovering there was an Espeon sitting in my local gym.

I then caught a Cyndaquil and can be considered happy for now.

Well except if I'm not mistaking them for later generations (I did with some I caught) there's still shuckle, stantler and someone I forgot (stingray guy) that have appeared near me but I didn't get to

I just found out you can steal prestige from other team if they're trying to defend a gym while you're taking it down.

They beat me up straight afterwards, but it was fun pinching it.
(Done by knocking out the last Pokémon before they increase it enough to save it)

Gyms are up here.
Just went and took one over.
You need to defeat each Pokémon about 5 times to take it out of the gym. I guess now it's just a question of how long I last before that gym goes back to yellow

I've known there's other people still playing the game, it's exactly the same as any other time I've taken over a gym here.

They should be happy to know that there's non-instincts still around.

But they already have the other 10 gyms I can see, why do they need so many!

I assume the gym raids that are coming soon are meant to do that?

Right now the gyms are basically still the same thing as before, just with less Pokémon and no need to prestige if you're one of the first six there

For me it's 12:30 to 3:30, but yeah.
I missed out on zapdos because I assume the people I assumed would be there started at the other end of town., Got bored of sitting at a gym waiting to see if a pile of cars would pull up and decided I was unlikely enough to get shinies anyway.
Weirdly last time I was in that town there was a zapdos raid I had to skip out on because I was required elsewhere.

3 is the entire reason golden razzberries exist.
4 is the same before any raid, EX or otherwise doesn't matter, going to be raiding or not also doesn't matter, it's a gym and should be fought over using all allowed means.

1 depends on me on how long the first person has been in the gym for my mind. I think if you're going to do this, just get the person on the other team to completely clear the gym.

6 is fine if the specific player is yourself and you need coins and the other people don't want coins yet. (Or you have been asked by that player concerned)

I've personally done 7 a few times.
I will never use the second account for 2 though. I'll take the whole gym down and leave the second account in there.

[quote="In post 887, the worst"]managed to pick up 22 shinies in the 3 hour window on sunday!
this event was sweet. : ] i'd missed quite a lot of the community days; now just missing cyndaquil and mareep.
Organise an SA meet and I can give you mareep.
(Heck I'd also give my one cyndaquil)

I only managed 6 during the 3 hour period.
I'd think I should have stayed within the lured area, but all of my shinies I caught were outside it.
And I also would have been hunting the luvdisc that were nest spawns. As I was while I was walking through the lures. (Not that any of them turned shiny, jealous of my mum having one)

Charmander is the only other one from the set of community day events I don't have the complete evolution line of.

I probably need to come try a community day in the city next year though.
I'm assuming it would be worse than Mawson lakes uni (where I did beldum) and I had to walk elsewhere because I wanted to hatch eggs. More shinies were caught around the lures there though.

I'll just have to convince N to play it again. I doubt I can though, he has house spawns and that's the thing I want the most in the game. I think he stopped because of a lack of pokestop within reasonable walking distance though.

I've seen what the city is like for Pokémon, so I can imagine the community days there.
I think the last time I was up there was the day friends could be made. This past weekend finally saw me run out of my ultra ball stack that grew a lot on that trip.
Well it got under 100 for a small period of time, I'll have to see if it starts dropping again.

I need to be unlazy and think of things we could do as well. But seeing as I never go out to do things even with people I've gotten to know irl, it's a hard choice.
