it's not a very good mix of movie reference and pun(?)
i mean - is "i make fetch happen" even a line in the movie? replacing fetch with another word like "fun" makes the reference largely unrecognizeable without explanation

sorry but what does that have to do with habit? isn't everyone describable in terms of which roles they're good at and how often they post? for "of habit" to be appropriate doesn't there need to be evidence of especial adherence to some specific routine?

His routine is one which is incredibly predictable and easy to lock down on.
that's not even a routine you're describing! it's a playstyle! and not even a very distinctive one!

sry, "platinum is one of the pokemon games" just doesn't sit well enough as a title justification, and i feel the same way about the other rationales too. Seems too arbitrary on the one hand and the ideas won't be clear enough to new readers later on.

wouldn't be too nonchalant about it - the privacy expectation of the speakeasy definitely means you should avoid talking about speakeasy posts in this subforum, especially the personal ones
safe (and imo necessary) move is just to get the relevant people's consent before you bring their shit up in a public thread
if you do and someone complains, you deserve whatever comes to you

uh what if it's just Schrodinger's Wolf? I feel like the "Schrodinger" already conveys the ambiguity about dann's scumplay that "deep" is doing. So "deep" might be redundant and obscuring ok wordplay.

(And is dann a physics guy or is that just what came to mind?)

think elbirn's post sort of proves the video thing is a good premise for a title even while his sentiment about it isn't really relevant to the discussion

I just personally feel that any title tied to a real life position for which the connotations could (and frequently do) rapidly swing around is at best risky. People who feel like Pelosi is a favorable comparison would not necessarily feel the same about Gingrich, for example.

PEdit: I kinda like that one, tbh.
maybe compare her with palpatine or some other well-known "political figure" instead

I think Organized Crime is more apt but that's why Disorganized Crime is so fantastic. It pokes fun and even people months down the line who don't know the origin of the title but are acquainted with zoraster's personality will still be able to grasp the joke.

Titles are a gift. Treat it that way.
Ok, but all in all it's literally just a piece of text under one's username. I get this is feudal Japan and titles are apparently the most honourable thing in existence around here, but no need to get so vindictive just because someone asks if it's cool for them to get a title too.

afraid i don't think the nom matches my memory of nancy's play either tbh
i just haven't noticed much of what shiki's saying

i also don't think the phrase "reconsider it" connotes empathy in the way shiki outlines either

she's definitely passionate and i think a nancy title should reflect that for sure

"Perfection is the enemy of progress" again misrepresents the position. The position is that the current noms are still not so good that we should feel comfortable just calling it a day. Honestly, I agree with it. Both Recommended for You and Not So Inno Scent are pretty forgettable imo, and amorphous enough that they'd be applicable to broad swaths of the community. Not So Inno Scent in particular forces a pun that doesn't make sense in its context.

The idea that we should approve or throw our hands up about mediocre and/or impersonal nominations just because even after lots of discussion no one's come up with anything better imo if taken for granted would depreciate titles and makes them a less special experience to give and to get.
In post 3824, Pink Ball wrote:The whole "best title ever" thing was made to avoid stagnation and it was almost a week ago.
Also, when you post something here, people are going to assume that you mean what you are saying and are arguing in good faith. Imo it's pretty rude not to honor that assumption in kind, even to counter something like stagnation.

You can disagree that the noms are mediocre/impersonal. That's fine and normal for aesthetic discussions. But I really dislike the approach of dismissing legitimate reservations about noms either just because people have been discussing noms for a while, or just because the reservations are being misinterpreted as a call for perfection.

think viking vigor has the same connotations as for valhalla that people object to. imo it's just a less iconic way to convey them. "viking" reads as kind of warrior/pirate.

"sane scientist" could be more recognizable as a twist on "mad scientist" but honestly "normal scientist" is fine. something feels off though

Elvish Impersonator?
Maybe one of the magical words for transformation? Transmogrify? Transfigure? Maybe those are better for later too.

i agree w the critique of for science.

also twilight princess ideally goes to someone tied to zelda franchise. otherwise the allusion feels a little dropped in.

but idk. titles are easy to fault
