Just want to clarify that I did mean this sentence seriously despite the rest of the post being joking.
Can you expand on what's bad about it? Other than the fact you can't really tell between the two.

-Hop
Are you attacking me for lacking the ability to detect sarcasm? Aside from that, my issue is it feels like you're punishing those who read the setup.

And more importantly, you're acting like not reading the setup is a town thing to do. It's not towny, it's bad. Maybe town do it more often but it's not something to reward, ever.

How many total TPRs would warrant you picking a role blockers?
3? 4?
3 or 4, if they are decently powerful and it's the best counter. Like you wouldn't pick roleblocker in response to a cop, instead you'd opt for framer and/or godfather.
Also I realized this setup feels like Pick Your Poison, but inverted: mafia pick powers for the mafia instead of the town.

Would you pick ghosts/immortals to fuck with the cop results
Roleblockers/stoppers/wtvs to "no result" PM them
or a Zombie because "lol fuck you guys" AND "well if they know we're going to pick ghosts/immortals, there goes our element of surprise"
Ghost/immortal. Roleblocker at that point can't keep up. Maybe zombie now that you put it on the table?

Ok, the ONLY 6 point 100% Zombie-safe setup
Priest & Healer & Trickster (or 2 priests, or 3 healers, or 4 tricksters and.... you get the idea)
and that warrants a vamp to prevent follow-the-cop nonsense
Can we start saying vampire/roleblocker instead of just vampire

Easier to follow
This looks clunky. Think about the pronoun song from Schoolhouse Rock.

I understand that much, I just don't get the link between speculating about the possible set ups now, and people following directions later.
My sense is he's feeling it will help make action directing simpler.

That doesn't look like playing the newbie card tho
As an fyi, LAMIST = look at me I'm so town (saying you are obviously town, which alienates others), WIFOM = wine in front of me (using self-awareness to cause confusion), you already know OMGUS, ATE = appeal to emotion (playing up negative feelings for townpoints), POE = process of elimination (gaining enough townreads that you can just kill all of the rest, a probably ineffective tool outside of mechanical PoE), VCA = vote count analysis (looking at previous vote counts and speculating alignments off them), and WKING = whiteknighting (defending someone without really understanding the reason they're under attack, at least according to Urban Dictionary). Very few of these seem applicable to my play at the moment.

In post 167, Hoptic wrote:Could someone explain to me what delayed lynchproof does exactly? They activate their lynchproof ability the night before they're lynchproof for the day? How many shots is this?

Otherwise, glad to see the fantastic wagons being accumulated. I'm happy with my seat on the Ben one, seriously hypothesizing a jester does strike me as scum!him dropping a township.

The setup speculation is good. We need to place more faith in our town PRs to not out themselves while we discuss it. On the other hand, we shouldn't condone avoidance of reads while discussing it *cough* Vortuka *sneeze*.

If that wasn't Vortuka, I blame the names in this game being kind of a mesh right now. I need to form separate identities for each of you, could you all start acting distinctively please?

I'll join in myself on this setup discussion, just give me a few weeks to do some comprehensive research on the role combinations and possible reactions from scum.

I don't remember who suggested it, but I've spread out my sentences onto separate lines of this post.

It's really a breath of fresh air actually, and opened my eyes to the art of structuring a post and forming clear consise

paragraphs.

-Hectic
In post 168, Hoptic wrote:Oh, me asking about delayed lynchproof isn't a WHOOPS township, you can take my word for it.
The fact I'm acknowledging myself being aware of how that could be perceived as scum dropping a township should negate any possible town or scum points you could give me for it.

Which read? The heads differ.
Townreading Vortuka for setup spec. Though, having thought about it again, I don't think that alone is a good reason.

The way Vorkuta discusses it and the tone he uses is towny for me
. But the act itself of discussing the setup is NAI.

Scum could certainly use it to pick up free town points while also fishing for town PRs based on how people contribute to the discussion.

Unstuck can be demoted to steward on the township.

This seems like an excuse to town read Vorkuta. The "two" reasons you've given to townread them are the same - "way" and "tone".

- Phoenix
Yep, it's not really a substantial read. I townlean him for tone/genuineness and that's about it right now.

Gamma's recent posts are chuck full of LAMIST WIFOM OMGUS ATE elements and I think we can POE lynch him now based on VCA and WKING.

Essay is on the horizon.

-Hectic
I have colored in what I find fake. Going into more detail:
167 has a random line break, why? This isn't scummy but it's weird.
168 seems extremely self conscious, like I understand that post but there's too much space dedicated to making sure the potential slip is viewed as NAI.
171 has 2 issues, the names dropped making no sense, and continuing to say "township" despite being aware of the typo.
175 I initially interpreted as saying "This post is from Norwegian", but I'm probably wrong.
178, what??? This is out of left field. This type of thing is why I feel like it could be trolling.
185, what's the point of this post?
188, Elements might have a point.
258 is deliberately abusing buzzwords to state a read contrary to what Hectic actually thinks.

Like I have Asperger's so despite being 19 I probably have the sense of humor of a 67 year old man if I'm not primed to receive humor. And as we're playing a deception game I have to read into things, and my read on what you are doing is it is you acting like a clown to obfuscate any malicious intent. Like I'm trying to use Hanlon's Razor here, but change stupidity to attempts at humor.

The issue was I was misreading his jokes as gameplay. It didn't become a big stink because I checked myself early. As for pushing Phoenix/Elements it's because we could have saved effort if he had noted Hectic's style earlier.

<REDACTED>

I'll post my reads eventually. Just give me some time, we've got more than 10 days before the deadline. No point rushing things.
Can you provide some commentary at least? This is a question, not a demand. I would like it though if you would show you are taking things in.

The ongoing games thing? Say you die in a game and see the alignments of the still living players. You now have extra info that could affect your reads on them in other games. Using that information in another game your in can then circle back and affect that game you died in, ruining the outcome.

That's the conundrum.

We either don't lynch, and then have to wait to see what happens at end of day (if anything) and after night 1. Chances are scum will take some of us out, especially ones they feel may be more vocal.

Or we bandwagon lynch and find out if we screwed up or not, but at least go into the night with (hopefully) more information than we started with.

Either way, we risk loosing town early. It should come down to where, as a whole, do we find more beneficial for the town.
Never no lynch D1

Like your issue is we have no information? No lynching does nothing to fix that. And we do have information, we know the scum roles. From that we've speculated town roles, which can be sorted by analyzing if the speculation someone is doing seems genuine. So maybe do that. Or realize that no one is lying to themselves, and D1 isn't as much of a crapshoot as you think.

You and Gamma I think started doubting us and questioning us and it turned into scum reading and fighting at a similar rate.

I felt like all of it was light on analysis for my taste, but I recognize that I post giant things that most players don't like. Nonetheless, I felt like you could show your work alot more. I think ironically I liked your comments on the zombie. When you townread or scumread there werent really any explanations. A decent chunk of your posts were you refusing to give explanations when asked. For the reads analysis, I saw 545, 642 (I really liked), 716 felt like an honest comment on why you've been light on analysis, but the complaints about being scumread then took up a good chunk, and I thought 797 showed legitimate thoughts. But I highlighted less than 10 posts out of 137. That's not all that helpful. Certainly doesn't feel game solvey. And alot of it was shading different forms of activity. It felt hella shitposty. My partners scumreading you and I can get why. I'm lost in this game, so trying to read you overall is difficult, but I think complaining about the scumreads is a bit unmerited.

There's also the fact that if one is revealed LyLo becomes a controlled situation
I had a scum game where because I didn't know what my approach to LyLo should be I blew my game up. If a Zombie is flipped during LyLo scum don't have to concern themselves with where to push for a day.
Going off this, btw, in a situation like this all posts should just be voting thr Zombie.

PlatinumPhoenix, why is NorwegianboyEE weird for pretty much saying the same thing you said earlier? Also, I'm kind of puzzled why you two decided to both talk about the exact same topic as a few pages before.
The way he's saying "maybe mafia is just dumb" can feel like he's lambasting himself for choosing Zombie in a way that seems contenty

Basically you're trying to make it seem like you're worse than you are, or something. Which actually is in line with the early observation that you referenced your newness a lot.

Yeah, I don't think anyone strong arms me here, I'd try to work as equals. Especially given my Pick Your Poison comparison, I would definitely be charged up about doing what I feel is right
