You just want to say nom a lot.

Don't rush titles. It was years before you and I got titled, Ari, but they were really good ones relevant to experiences that defined our presence on MafiaScum.

I think Pine's title should be revisited and should totally be something about the fact that he is a scumstump in those Camn games because 1) he likes scum, 2) tree stump and Pine in my mind have good username connotations
I like that mastina one actually!

However, the whole point of
In Your Head
is the fact that he is good at scum manipulation. The Camn games are a perfect example of it, because he is the master manipulator of them! I don't think a treestump pun would do him justice. This title already encapsulates what you said rather elegantly.

I never thought I'd say it, but we don't need a pun here O.o
"In Your Head" was a direct result of the Revenge games...the third of which is currently in the works, with Alisae set to serve as the Town Treestump!

Also, I
loathe
puns. Wordplay is fine, but punning is perverse.

Long story short, a bunch of alternate wincons were present in this game. Cyrus was mafia and had to hammer his teammate or otherwise get an item that his teammate was holding. Two other town players (Pine and PenguinPower) had this same wincon. Cyrus made a deal with Pine and PP by outting his teammate with the item so that Cyrus could hammer the teammate and get the item to satisfy his alt wincondition. Much chaos ensued, but Cyrus was hung, followed by the outted teammate, which had the domino effect of causing the last mafia to concede. All because he made a little deal with the devil.

Pine is the devil because he is
devilishy good looking
good at scum.
But he was scum, and scum is the devil.
Are you suggesting I am less capable a deceiver and manipulator than the Prince of Lies?

Funhouse also acceptable, but less appealing

Pink Ball as a player sneaks up on you. He’s low-key and likeable, and as such can come out of nowhere with good plays and insightful calls

Antinom Jingle title. I agree that he’s excellent and deserving, but I do not find that to be at all related to why I hold Jingle in high regard.

This is by far the most extreme example

Without any prompting or much background, Fish spun an elaborate, detailed, and lengthy story about an absurd subject, just for the sheer giggles of it. I don’t think he even anticipated having an appreciative audience, this was just spontaneous tall tale telling at its finest. I mean...it was so unexpected, yet thoroughly charming that it deserves commemoration

And what are MS titles for, if not for that? They need not be immediately accessible, but they ought to encapsulate a defining moment or trait

This was a moment of brilliance, and I doff my cap to it

I mean, look at Ari’s title. It’s in recognition of a single chain of events. Granted, those events spanned months, but his title has nothing to do with his style, gameplay, etc.

See, this should be an anti-nom.

“Because they should have a title” is a shitty reason to give a bad title.

Wolf pup is dumb, contrived, and unnecessarily cutesy. I’m hardly innocent in suggesting bad titles (DannWolf is cringeworthy in retrospect) but scraping the bottom of the barrel because we like him is just as bad.

No it’s not, just because you are ignorant of the context doesn’t make it a bad title. Anyone who has played multiple games with Dann would vehemently disagree with you here.

Antinom Pine’s antinom
I have played several games with Dann. For Pete's sake, the whole CONTEXT of the title discussion about Dann as a deepwolf was sparked when I drafted him FIRST in Ali vs Pine *specifically* for his talent as a deepwolf.

The title is bad. Making unresearched ad hominem attacks on me doesn't strengthen your side, and it's a key reason a lot of people don't like you very much.

Pops is especially good at jury management. She’s not always the best Town player, she’s not always the best scum player, but in a lot of the games I’ve played with her recently, she is hands down one of the most likeable, least suspicious players in the game regardless of her alignment. She’s brilliant at managing the conversation to benefit herself and her reads while not rubbing anyone the wrong way.

I admit, the silver tongue motif is low impact, but as I think about it more, it
works
for her.

“Jury management” isn’t just a Survivor term, though that did popularize it. In a Mafia game, everyone is effectively the jury at all times.

That sounds vaguely salacious.

I approve, but will remind everyone that MafiaScum is NOT a dating site.

Anti-nom the title in general. Sorry, while I delight in having a new nickname to needle him with, this isn't title material.

I even added some suggestions of titles for other users specifically so i wouldn’t anger the cranky boomers. But i suppose some people just have a compulsive need to complain about everything.

This has nothing to do with generation, it has to do with site culture and tradition.

Titles on MafiaScum are gifts. They come from members of the community as a sign of respect and affection for long-standing and/or impactful members. We nominate people to commemorate memorable moments, honor excellent play, or reference distinctive personality traits.

Asking for a title isn't self-advocating, like asking for a raise. It's rude, akin to asking why you didn't a bigger birthday present. There are plenty of us, myself included, who waited years to be titled. It's worth the wait.

How about Mr. Commissioner? League Commissioner is more of a job title, kind of on the nose. Mr. Commissioner is a sign of deference.

My two bits. I don’t play fantasy leagues.

In post 2077, mastina wrote:Btw on the note of Zaph; Zaphkael is one of the best writers on mafiascum, period. In all aspects of that term. It's obviously applicable to mafia games, but extends to writing outside of mafia, too. I might even be so bold as to suggest Zaphkael is THE best writer on mafiascum bar none, but I realize that might be a slightly more contentious statement, whereas there can be absolutely zero debate on Zaphkael being one of the best writers on mafiascum.

So, obviously, I would support a title there, but it needs more discussion and such before I approve anything.
I would not be opposed to fighting Zaph on this. Name the terms and I'm there.

Silver-tongued or a variant of it. It's not about schadd_, he's splendid. The problem is that it's too nonspecific and vanilla. We've shot down those exact same titles before and should continue to do so. Anything that would apply reasonably to 25%+ of the userbase is a bad title.
