Ms.net is like that though

And I'm always the one running up and down MD trying to get people to scumside their setups more

Egduf is a female holiday treat that is not nearly as scummy as you are; I assume gameplay would use five or more repetitions of the word scum for you.

You're not poe. You don't do anything. You don't have reads. You seemed to do a lot more as town.

I definitely agree.

This doesn't make me feel better about gameplay's alignment on either flip.

There's no breadcrumb because I'm lazy and my role can be corroborated. I was/am a 1-shot neighborizer. Oversoul put some cute reflavor on it but it is actually exactly a one-shot neighborizer. Since neighborizer is a nothing urgent role I targeted someone who I thought was scummy with it in case the scum have an Ascetic slot and I could setup spec on their asceticism which is like a 2% chance which is still worthful than a neighborhood itself. As a bit of tiebreaker someone I would possibly benefit from having a neighborhood with maybe a little. I targeted egduF. She's been pretty null in the neighborhood. I asked her to overrepresent her willingness to lynch me so I would be more able to dodge the Night 2 Kill, that's the other thing I came up with to try to macgyver some minimal amount of value out of the worthless role.

2 Mason's and 2 shot bodyguard is a balanced setup on its own, so I suspect all the town crown abilities are at similar levels of useless. Whilst a setup with 3 confirmable player would give a town only themselves to blame for crowning scum, which to me means the scum crown effects are horrifying. I strongly suggest Hectic be recrowned for no effect rather than gambling with it. We should win this game mountainous.

It's actually almost tautologically true that hectic should be crowned today. Suppose you townread some player besides yourself you'd like to crown. Good job, you, that player, and Hectic is the winning townbloc. Therefore, you do not need the crown to win.

Rolefishing me to remove all my potential of drawing a scum 1-shot roleblock was antitown as heck and I am still pissed about you gameplay screwing with my only other way of extricating value out of how beautiful I felt

My interpretation of the hammer actually hinges on whether you were actually drunk. I could see someone fakedrunking as scum to increase the towncred generated by the bus-hammer.
Idk whether it's considered dirty pool to lie about sobriety in a mafia game, I think it counts as fair game. It's definitely unwritten rule territory

I'm still pretty ready to bet the game on town gameplay

Gameplay or Hectic

To what extent do you think the replacement can perform in a way that you wouldn't want to lynch the slot?

Chemist the gamestate is very unfavorable to you but we wanted a replacement because I hardclaimed the neighborhood you just posted in and we wanted a corroborating claim.

After you read the game you might just get hammered

Kind of feelsbads

I want to win the game on gameplay-Hectic-pops townbloc, all other slots die.

The risk to crowning gameplay is scum!gameplay getting a role like doublevoter and winning in a universe where I would have reread the thread and reconsidered in 3 man LyLo and gone with a different strategy than that townbloc

After this game's tempo got rekt, aside from not wanting to reread, I'm not sure I'd trust the results of the reread as much as my initial impressions

The only threat to the townbloc then is gameplay loves(?) pops, not pops loves gameplay

If he gets crowned with something that can strengthen his TR on my slot somehow, which seemed to waver on day2 due to our differences of opinion about handling mechanics, that can help. I don't actually any longer see a universe where a scum crowned gameplay can win a game that I wouldn't have also lost to a scum gameplay who cannot wear hats because he is upsidedown, they would just fall off, isn't this conversation funny.

Hectic please vote gameplay for crown

with 5 alive that should just be gameplay is crowned, no alphabet soup.

@Oversoul
do you allow PT selfquoting?

Quoting someone besides yourself in a PT is pretty universally banned.

We should grant credit to Correspondence's Day 1 Egduf read being on-point.

@Oversoul - can you release the full setup for our curiosity or are you going to keep as much as possible secret for potential reuses

"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"

I'd really like to see this setup concept rerun but with the crown inherently granting Untargetable and a ban on crowning the same person repeatedly.

None of the setup blurbs appealed or tempted me tbh.

I agree bodyguard is underutilized and there's a reason it appears in Undertale Smalltown :D

It originally meant pops of c town but I am trying to change it

Because I love mafia and no longer live in c town.

I feel like people should ask me to review stuffs more

I don't think I'm RC level smrt but I think I would have given beneficial input to this one

I appreciate Oversoul wanting to add lots of flavor because flavor can be really fun in games but him not knowing the people in the playerlist well can be a stopgap I can see how that's a thing.
In Undertale mafia I did lots of flavor but it was all postflip which not only made me less paranoid about modslipping info (which is TERRIBAD and it has happened to "good" mods xyzzy did it in a game) but also by the time I was writing the flavor I knew more about the flavor so it helped me write it.

Consider about how maybe you can incorporate that Oversoul.

On a different forum someone solicited "when you /in for this game send me a post with a specific flavor, I'll use it for flavor this game"

Also a thingamajig that dodges mod impartiality and seemed like a good way to add flavor

Anyway this game was good

I'm looking forward to Dunnstral's opinion on the game I am positive it is and should be more complex than "pops is amazing at mafia and won".

this has been drunkpops

In post 922, Correspondence wrote:
Dear compatriots,

The Crown mechanic was an interesting one, and we suggest that its stakes could be raised further if the results of the vote (or at least the number who voted for each person) were revealed at day start. For example, when Hectic was crowned, it would be fascinating to see that he'd received four votes to Egduf's two. The identities of the voters could be public or private, at your option. While you may think this is worrisome for scum players who might reveal their subversive intent, what if the scum players had voted for us? While they risk giving us the Crown, they also have a way to frame us for the deed.
The crown votes
were
public, they were revealed at twilight rather than daystart but that information gets out in time for the subsequent lynch.
Dunnstral was the main one to dig into the mechanic, pointing out it was probable that at least one scum voted me for crown.... with which I agreed... seeing as Dunnstral did...
Miss Pops
- It was, as usual, a delight playing with you. We thank you for being reliably easy to read when Town, and for your outstanding leadership. Our self-imposed post restriction made taking the mantle of leadership difficult if not impossible, and we are glad you were here.
Your slot was fun too. I don't know exactly how to feel about signing up for games and sticking to some restriction that doesn't seem it can be possibly pro-win%, but I definitely won't greylist this hydra beyond the extent to which I greylist all hydras.
Mr. Hectic
- Boy, are you hard to read. One of us had you pegged as Town immediately, but permitted the other to subject you to inquisition, just to be sure. Trust me, son, living up to your username isn't the best way to get Townread in this game. Also, take it from my experience - eight games is too many. A sustainable limit is between three and six, depending on size, speed, and available time.
The correct number of games varies from person to person and what time they have. But Hectic's D2 and D3 posts felt like they might be someone who doesn't have this game in a narrow set of games they are focusing on.
Mr. Smart, aka Aa
- A clever means for subverting the mechanics. You are always fun to play with, but we would wish you more confidence in yourself. Take the initiative! Smash the opposition!
wait am I a writer in the Correspondence hydra
Mr. Dunnstral
- Hey buddy, the "lurk and they won't notice me" thing is useful sometimes, but in a Micro it was deadly. With only eight other players to assess, it's really easy to get PoE'd. By the time you whipped out the claws, it was looking like desperation.
I don't think Dunnstral's play was terrible this game. Sometimes you can play passively and town will trip over themselves. I think passive play for the scumteam is at its worst when the entire scumteam goes for that, though, egduF was more active and took more positions but wasn't quite mover and shaker status.
Miss Egduf
- We're not sure if you siteflaked entirely, or if this game just was too much. Either way, please come back! You actually did an entirely fine job. We were the only ones who really spotted you, and had difficulty convincing the others. It wasn't until the PoE caught up to you and you started really lurking that it turned against you. When the going gets tough, redouble your efforts.
Hectic mentioned IRL issues, the way her activity pattern lines up against her slot's pressure I don't think it's possible to confirm "defeatism lurking" occurred.

I feel like if I was good at hydra hunting I'd be able to figure out a head but I'm totally not so bleh.

This setup was indeed batshit scumsided. I played based on the assumption that the scum crown abilities were either "You are a multivoter", "You may perform an additional kill at night", or "If your partner is crowned this game too, immediately win the game". All of those would have left the game
still
abjectly townsided, actually, but I was trying to give Micc and Oversoul the benefit of the doubt.

All setups can and should punish D1 massclaim. This one does punish day 1 massclaim, the town is even more greatly ridiculously advantaged if the claims are delayed and the mafia shoot unconfirmable town, such as my own slot when I was crowned. I don't agree with Dunnstral that town benefitted from the massclaim, it was kind of impervious to the massclaim because of how townsided this setup was to begin with, but if we had say mislynched Correspondence day 1 and kept all the PRs, an unconfirmable player could get NKed night one. There's actually so many confirmable town in the game that spending
any
nightkills on an unconfirmable player guarantees that an additional Innocent Child will participate in LyLo. That's absurd.

Alphabet rule was indeed dumb.

I didn't notice that crown votes were listed in the order they were placed. I try to watch out for modslips like that when I mod. It can be particularly bad if you cause information a player didn't know would be public to become public.

I don't know Micc or his review record super well. I don't really see any reason the listmod and the go-to reviewer for a queue need to be the same person though. The desirable qualities are indeed different. As far as I have noticed Micc has done an excellent job executing all of his listmod duties, aside from "completing review of Crown on the Ground" and in that case only if that is truly a function of being a listmod.

I forgot/overlooked loss of NK control, and acknowledging that I'm not sure I can stick with, town would have won even if the setup was balanced. The players alive in the second and third day phases would have gotten their two lynches even without the 1-2 clears that should not have been in the setup, but I should consider that if the mafia can choose to have a different set of players alive days 2 and 3 things can go differently to an even greater extent than a full clear.
